Ahoy there mateys . . .

Sorry I have been so scarce . . .so how how is everyone doing?? We've been baseball fanatics again . . .LOL Seems to happen every spring. I love it until about June and then begin to burn out . . . two kids on two teams with rain outs and reschedules .. . even one double header so far this year. Tomorrow we head for Nags Head for a relaxing five days frying in the sun. No rain forecast. Nothing to do . . .

What are your plans for the holiday weekend?

Hi Theresa......just mentioned you today to Stepht. She was telling about her homeschooling. I was telling her we are also in that crowd. Missed you in chat.

And, yes, I switched my Aug. 8 10 night Med (cat 9) for BOTH the July 28 11 night Med AND the 14 night transatlantic (both Cat. 12, although my room assignment for the Aug. 18 cruise already shows a Cat. 10 room) -- and saved money! Those prices were just too good to be passed over . . .

Where are you going to stay inbetween cruises?

OK...

it's 8:10 PM and we decided AGAIN not to do a Med sailing. We figured we might in mid July and it's only $5680 or so for DCL in a cat 12 guarantee... however the airfare would run us near $9000 on United (our preferred carrier). ANd the lowest priced deal was briefly posted as India Air at near $1100pp... which was acceptable except we don't really want to fly that airline - and we needed to evaluate the whole thing a little more before we bought ... and now it is $1600 for the lowest priced airlines going within 6 days of embarkation and returning within 3 days of debarkation. SO, my spouse came home and we concluded that it's OK to pass on it - for the same reasons we passed originally. We need to defer til we travel with family and the kids get a little older. Cost is about right if not slightly cheap compared to other lines for a similar voyage... but the air fare is nothing special at $1600-2000pp. Frankly, we've had air fares to the UK and Paris under $8 in the past .... so these numbers seem just a bit high on the air. Plus - we would like to use some FF miles on the air to save a little cash - and clearly we cannot with less than 2 months to go!

So - no, we're not gonna do it.

and here all along we thought you saw the ruins, and interesting landmarks not just the inside of bars. What in the heck did you need a jeep for then?

LOL! Not sure if you are talking to me or not...but I saw the ruins in Costa Maya...beautiful!!! In Cozumel I didn't even get off the ship. DH did to get a few pictures but we didn't care for it when we were there in 12/04.

We've been homschooling...19 or 20 yrs....... We have 5 children -- 27ds, 23dd, 16dd, 9ds & 5dd. I do't remeber if I've posted a family pic but, here are a couple taken on the 10 nt (that was the first time that all 5 of our children were able to go on vacation with us together!!! Oldest ds was starting college when 9ds was born...and oldest dd was starting school and moving out when 5dd was born...

So...which one are you? I honestly can't tell.

We're gonna have a low intensity weekend with no long distance travel...

... Saturday we're hosting a swim party, then doing some light exploring an' dinner in town. Then Sunday we have a birthday party for one of the little ones' friends and then dinner and Wicked in the evening at the Pantages theater. Monday has nothing planned so far... so I think we'll just relax and putter around at home or close by.

Where are you going to stay inbetween cruises?

Paris! We will have 5 days in Paris near the Tour Eiffel and 5 more at DL Paris. We had planned this already for the 10 days following getting off the 10 day cruise on Aug 18, so just had to change the dates. What's more, I checked my reservations tonight and it looks like we got secret porthole rooms for both cruises . . . I am feeling very lucky tonight.

I am actually donating my time ...they have the Cancer Society there and they wanted to use this chance to make a little money ...So they have me taken pictures for a donation ...Of course with 100 percent of the money going to the Cancer Society. I think its for Breast cancer ....So I think ole Captain Jack may do a few exam's himself ..... Just Joking ....

Captain as a Cancer Survivor myself, A big thanks. Not only are you our captain but I did not expect such modesty(except when it comes to tatoos).

We do know how to handle those only child spoiled kids. You just walk away and ignore them. They eventually come around.

I was told by a wise older person,"there is no such thing as a spoiled child. The child is just loved too much."

You are so correct about so many things...and whether you know it or not, you are teaching me to open my eyes and my heart.

Can I also say Lil Grumpy is truly the conscious of our board. We have our own Lil' Cricket that watches over us.

Hazel got a call from the school nurse at 12:30 this afternoon, our poor baby is so sick. Hazel was able to get Angelina in to see the doc at 3:30 and came home with three new prescriptions. Angelina's allergies are really BAD this year and I'm not surprised as I usually don't suffer with pollen, but I'm even having trouble as of late. Angelina is in bed and Hazel just left to pick up the new meds. I sure hope they kick in fast, the Gwen Stefani concert is only 4 days away. Please send some extra this way, thanks!!!

I am sending magic Angelina's way. Allergies our really bad in our area too!!! I started getting allergies five years ago. I know take allegra all year long.

A lot happening on the July 28th thread and One of the regulars from here has joined us taking my Dis time away from here.

Went to Doctors, Brain Scan is ok, but on tablets to correct the headaches, considered Tension headaches at this time.

Andrew I am sooo glad Brain Scan came back okay. You have been through a lot of health issues with the family this year. Now it is time to start relaxing and smell the roses(unless you are allergic to them).

Something tells me that the, "no rum before dinner on Pirate night" is going to last til about 10AM. Todd is going to be propped up in a chair in one of the dining room mumbling something about his sword by time late dinner rolls around.

Somehow now I'm flashing a visual of CJS/Todd in JD's last pose at POC in DL toasting his cups. LORD help me - I think I lost it!

Paula - Thanks for noticing that Laura & I were talking about 2 different cruises - talk about feelng rather silly!!!! This will be my first trip in a LONG time that didn't include either my kids or my grandkids!! It's unfortunate my DH can't go - but he insisted I go. Ya, he is wonderful!
