Break Time!!!!

Happy Thursday :flower3:

Happy pay day! :yay:

I need a raise too so I pay for the TOAL!!!

Well I got something of a raise today! When I transfered to the new location, dopey me didn't check that my salary increase went into effect. I did see they deposited the correct amounts for the relocation incentives (some salary based) but didn't check much beyond that. So when performance appraisal time came, I got the notice and was puzzled as to why my new salary was LOWER that what I should be getting anyway.

Turns out some bozo didn't enter the correct salary for my transfer! :scared1: I counteroffered the salary from the initial offer which was accepted. But someone didn't see the new (higher) amount and put that in for the transfer. :headache:  I can only be mad at myself for not following up on that. Anyway, Payroll did their investigation--turns out I'm not the only person this has happened to--and today I got all the monies based on the higher salary retroactive ot the transfer date.

i am glad to know i'm not invisible!! i was really beginning to wonder! i guess i gotta get in here and post a lot more, and i won't get lost in the shuffle!

i wanted to ask if anyone had recently called ho-jo annaheim? i made the call yesterday, and they told me the rate was $111. i thought the group rate was alot lower than that? can the group rate already have gone up? does that even happen? are they able to charge part of the group one rate and then charge others another rate? i wish i wouldn't have procrastinated....i actually didn't think i was procrastinating seeing it's still a very long way off!!!:rotfl2:

Did you mention you were part of the repo group (not sure exactly how you are supposed to ask for it :confused3 )? That sounds like the rate without the 20% discount

Interesting, people speak highly of Sir Richard i think he would make a great prime minister of this country.

Although he has never nailed his political colours to the wall, he allows the Labour Party campaign team free use of his trains - therefore, I'd willingly vote for him. :thumbsup2

I met him a few years ago and he is a very genuine man - my DS - Alex thought he was great !!

What do you think of Liverpool then ?? The most successful team in Europe :)

ugh! i just now called back again, and was told that there is no flat group rate. the lady said that the rate will be 15% off the regular going rate. i remember calling when the talk of the group rate was mentioned, and i just didn't commit to it then. back in march, the rates were $79 and $99 i think...and i remember being told then, that it would be 20% off those rates. i'm kicking myself now, cuz it's about $30 more per nite that we are paying. curious to know if anyone has tried to book recently. she told me that the $111 was AFTER the 15% discount. she said that with the large groups that they are expecting, that the rates have apparently already gone up!ugh!!!

Good thing you noticed. DH's salary was cut a few years ago and we didn't notice until the bank statements were off (we have direct deposit), like two months. Why wasn't he told he was getting a salary cut you ask.......He works in his family's company. Anyone who has ever worked in a family owned business knows exactly what I'm talking about, I'm sure :rolleyes1

Hi thanks for your concern, so the earlier post as well, Its still around however, if I said last week it was 100% pain, currently it would be about 30% and I came home early.

I am at work Tommorrow, but we have a long weekend, Monday is a Bank Hol.

Then I have about three weeks until a weeks holiday in Spain.

I will see Doctor again during that time, or sooner if it gets worse.

Thanks again, my posting is limited, as well as I am resting even more.

Must be something in the UK air - I came home early today. I've had a cold since last Saturday and living with it. Since yesteday it's affected my chest, and my arms and legs are aching also. To top it off, I have a cold-like headache.

I'm NOT at work tomorrow (I have a flexi-day) - with the Bank Holiday on Monday that gives me 4 days off :dance3:

The bad side of things is that when I return to work on Tuesday, I have to start the appraisals on my staff :headache:

Well, that just stinks, Shannon. That $111 with the discount does sound a little high. For the heck of it, in a few weeks I would call back and ask for the Rack Rate for your dates. Don't mention any discount. Also, as the date gets closer, I would think there are going to be cancellations and the price may go down. HoJo's is my back up hotel. I have an ongoing search with my timeshre trading company for a couple of timeshares on the same strip. If they come through, I will be cancelling my ressie.

I would like to meet him.

Liverpool are now 'ENGLAND' against Italy in the final so we should all fully support them.

wow!! i'm starting to wonder if i stink:confused3 ....everyone disappears when i show up!! hellloooo????!!!!

Shannon I would've popped in & said Hi, but DH knocked me off the internet because he was trying to hook up wireless for our laptop so I can DIS, watch TV & be with the family, instead holed up in this office all night. Plus my SPT's want the computer all the time to play Penguins, Webkins, VMK, & soon the new POC game that my DS is dying to get on.

Anyway for all you tech gurus...I'm just wondering if wireless is the way to go? So far he hasn't been able to get it to work, but he's off to Best Buy again to get it figured out. I'm sure he will, but they say it can interfere w/ electrical equipment in the house including the phones. Should we just get another cable port installed in the livingroom? As far as expense & reliability, what would be the best thing to do?

Good Morning All
Just took this pic of Dante and I think it shows how much better he is doing. First time in 2 days I heard him bark and he wagged his tail.:cheer2: He want's to play with his toys but he can't walk. This look is like Mom I want to play. I love seeing his personality coming back.

Dantedoingbetter.jpg

OMG Tina, I can't believe the way his personality shows on his face! He is definitely in a happier mood! Glad to see Dante is on the mend! :thumbsup2

I'll have to ketchup later, just checking in for a minute.

FINALLY something is going right with this &*#@ move.

I posted our house for rent on a military rental site on Saturday night. On Sunday, we got an e-mail from a couple who was in town house hunting.
We cleaned frantically Monday night, they came to see it Tuesday and again last night. After walking through one more time they wanted to sign a lease!!!:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

I had them fill out an application. My brother's Big Boy job is with a corporate screening firm (he's the one who owns & runs a record store), so he's checking up on them right now, but by the end of the day our house should be rented. :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Be back later - I have to go edit a lease.

There goes the Pirate Vacation Club (PVC) I was going to propose in a few weeks! Welcome Home!pirate:

Good news M! I bet it's a relief to have one more thing off your back!

Cool,
Cool Beans,
Way Cool,
Wicked Cool,
Thanks for sharing the pic, oh to be there now!!!

Are you for serious? It's Wicked Pissah! :rotfl2:

Sorry to hear you are not at your best Andrew. I hope it's just stress. You have been very busy planning for your med cruise along w/ dealing with DW's illness, DD's ear problems, work & such. That kind of stress can take a toll on anyone. Keep us updated! :grouphug:

Study: Typical Stay-at-Home Mom Would Earn $138,095 a Year
Thursday , May 03, 2007

If the typical stay-at-home mother in the United States were paid for her work as a housekeeper, cook and psychologist among other roles, she would earn $138,095 a year, according to research released on Wednesday.

This reflected a 3 percent raise from last year's $134,121, according to Salary.com Inc, Waltham, Mass.-based compensation experts.

The 10 jobs listed as comprising a mother's work were housekeeper, cook, day care center teacher, laundry machine operator, van driver, facilities manager, janitor, computer operator, chief executive officer and psychologist, it said.

The typical mother puts in a 92-hour work week, it said, working 40 hours at base pay and 52 hours overtime.

A mother who holds full-time job outside the home would earn an additional $85,939 for the work she does at home, Salary.com reported.

Last year she would have earned $85,876 for her at-home work, it said.

Salary.com compiled the online responses of 26,000 stay-at-home mothers and 14,000 mothers who also work outside the home.

I showed this to DH & said, "Okay so go out & get busy mowing the lawn & washing my truck!" Ah hellooooo it doesn't say anything about landscaper or carwash operator! Geez! :sad2:

Hi Doreen! Nice to "see" you! :wave2: (That little waving guy is my fav. but sometimes I have a hard time finding him. )

It just doesn't seem right to have a dog home alone all day.

When they are puppies, and can't hold "it" long....It's better to have someone who can stay at home with the dog...

However, My dogs only sleep during the day even when i am home so they really don't notice when we're not there. Heck, the lab bolts for our bed less than 20 seconds after the last person leaves in the morning. More than a few times i've had to turn around for a forgotten item and she was already asleep.

I haven't heard him bark or seen his tail wag.:sad1: If I don't start to see any improvement, I will be calling the vet tomorrow. I really think he is depressed.

Awww :grouphug: sorry the little guy feels bad... When Abby had her intestinal blockage we had to leave her at the vet for fluids during the day and then transfer her over to the emergency vet clinic for the night...

She seemed so bright and happy when we dropped her off, the vets asked us if she had already had surgery to remove the item. They said dogs in her condition usually aren't that happy. What can i say, goofy's dog is goofy.

and today I got all the monies based on the higher salary retroactive ot the transfer date.

congrats on the raise....

she told me that the $111 was AFTER the 15% discount.

No way i'd spend $111 for the Hojo....I'd sooner try for the CCI or to use my DVC points at the Grand Californian.

Hi everyone

This is Helen (daipp - Davids wife)

Just dropping by to say "Hello" :)

i thought it sounded a bit high for a hojo...but what is the CCI? i really need to get on the ball with this whole trip. i always tell myself i'm gonna have everything done early, so i can enjoy myself and not stress...so far, it's not happening that way! granted, i know i have a very long time, but i really haven't read up on anything yet...i know nothing about any of the ports!
and since i'm not a seasoned airline traveler...when are we able to book flights? i've only flown a handful of times, and those were for trips that were only 3-4 months away.

Your SPT plays all the on-line games my SPT plays, so I have to ask, what is the new POC game? Is it an on-line game too? DD already says she wants to see AWE twice. Once at the movie theater and once at the drive-in when it opens for the summer. We saw POC II at the drive in on opening weekend last year. Nobody dressed up though :goodvibes . Hey, speaking of, do you ever go the Mendon Drive-in, Diane?
