This is how I want to travel. I wish that I could travel for a week or two with my shaving kit and one small suitcase.

Of course, lovely TSA regs require you to check most of whats in a typical shaving kit

That sounds like my IL's house. There is an entire bedroom upstairs filled with boxes of crap...let's see if that gets bleeped out...there isn't any other word for it. ;) There is stuff all over the house but that room is the worst. You can't even get to the windows to open them...BTW...no A/C in the house.

My maternal Grandmother was the same way. My Mom is the exact opposite, often regrets throwing stuff out. When I was living with her in summers during law school, I would have to get the weekend papers out of the recycle when I slept in past 8......

Gas?

...or charcoal?

I've been thinking about going back to the "purity" of coal but DW loves the instant gratification of gas cooking. Any ideas?

The convenience of gas is a tremendous factor. Some people want the "charcoal" flavor, but 3/4 of the "charcoal flavor" is the juices burning off on coals or gas appliance and the resultant smoke going on the food. The other 1/4 is from "flavoring" added to the charcoal, which on a gas grill can be accomplished by either using wood (e.g. mesquite) or a flavoring box that would be filled with wood/liquid to provide the extra flavor.

I would do gas.

You are so right, if we had 2 computers, we would definitely get to talk to each other. As it is I only see her when she sticks her head out of the den to see what she is missing on tv. Then she wants a recap of what she missed.:confused3

If you want it, I'm sure arrangements could be made for a chat transcript.... :lmao: :lmao: (only kidding)

I think after having to clean out my parent's house I'm going to be a reformed pack rat! I think I have one more weekend of having to clean there and than I can start on my own house!

Study: Typical Stay-at-Home Mom Would Earn $138,095 a Year
Thursday , May 03, 2007

If the typical stay-at-home mother in the United States were paid for her work as a housekeeper, cook and psychologist among other roles, she would earn $138,095 a year, according to research released on Wednesday.

This reflected a 3 percent raise from last year's $134,121, according to Salary.com Inc, Waltham, Mass.-based compensation experts.

The 10 jobs listed as comprising a mother's work were housekeeper, cook, day care center teacher, laundry machine operator, van driver, facilities manager, janitor, computer operator, chief executive officer and psychologist, it said.

The typical mother puts in a 92-hour work week, it said, working 40 hours at base pay and 52 hours overtime.

A mother who holds full-time job outside the home would earn an additional $85,939 for the work she does at home, Salary.com reported.

Last year she would have earned $85,876 for her at-home work, it said.

Salary.com compiled the online responses of 26,000 stay-at-home mothers and 14,000 mothers who also work outside the home.

I am grossly underpaid :scared1: :scared1: I am a stay at home mom who runs a business out of the home. I need a raise.
:rotfl2:

You were certainly missed by me. Glad to see you back. Hope you are doing better.

It's not so bad. Sometimes we actually get to talk to each other that way. :rotfl:

We now have three (four counting my work laptop) computers. Yes, sometimes we sit in separate (or even the same) room for the DISchat! :sad2:

But with them gone for the week the house is sooooo quite and empty. :sad1: Of course the dogs are confused! They normally have free run of the house unless we go someplace. But now, they get up, go outside to do their business and then straight into the kennel until I get home! Poor Oliver thinks he's being punished! :sad2:

Hey, where has Peter and Jack been? Maybe after they met everyone at the mini-meet last month they decided they weren't interested in Naked Rugby.:confused3

Hope you are doing well.

I'll have to ketchup later, just checking in for a minute.

FINALLY something is going right with this &*#@ move.

I posted our house for rent on a military rental site on Saturday night. On Sunday, we got an e-mail from a couple who was in town house hunting.
We cleaned frantically Monday night, they came to see it Tuesday and again last night. After walking through one more time they wanted to sign a lease!!!:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

I had them fill out an application. My brother's Big Boy job is with a corporate screening firm (he's the one who owns & runs a record store), so he's checking up on them right now, but by the end of the day our house should be rented. :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Be back later - I have to go edit a lease.

There goes the Pirate Vacation Club (PVC) I was going to propose in a few weeks! Welcome Home!pirate:

Good Morning All
Just took this pic of Dante and I think it shows how much better he is doing. First time in 2 days I heard him bark and he wagged his tail.:cheer2: He want's to play with his toys but he can't walk. This look is like Mom I want to play. I love seeing his personality coming back.

Dante is looking a bit chipper in this pic!!! ;)

Being the obsessive compulsive planner that I am (and being bored too), I went on the DCL website and saw a few weird issues. First, I noticed that DCL has yet to update my phone number in "My Profile" so I tried to use the update feature and got the following error when I went to save:

As we are in the process of updating our system, your Castaway Club ID may have changed. Please contact our Reservation team at 1-800-449-3380 for more information.

Had to either cancel or delete CC#.

Then when looking around on "My Reservation" the following anomaly occurs:

On the "MY DISNEY CRUISE" page (the first one you get when retrieving your reservation), the itnerary is listed as:

15-Night Panama Canal Cruise - East
Day Port
Sunday, August 17, 2008 Port of Los Angeles
Monday, August 18, 2008 At Sea
Tuesday, August 19, 2008 Cabo San Lucas
Wednesday, August 20, 2008 Puerto Vallarta
Thursday, August 21, 2008 At Sea
Friday, August 22, 2008 Acapulco
Saturday, August 23, 2008 At Sea
Sunday, August 24, 2008 At Sea
Monday, August 25, 2008 Panama Canal
Tuesday, August 26, 2008 Panama Canal
Wednesday, August 27, 2008 At Sea
Thursday, August 28, 2008 At Sea
Friday, August 29, 2008 At Sea
Saturday, August 30, 2008 At Sea

Sunday, August 31, 2008 Castaway Cay
Monday, September 1, 2008 Port Canaveral

But on the "My Cruise Plans Summary" link, its listed as:

Day 1 - Port of Los Angeles - Sunday, August 17, 2008
Day 2 - At Sea - Monday, August 18, 2008
Day 3 - Cabo San Lucas - Tuesday, August 19, 2008
Day 4 - Puerto Vallarta - Wednesday, August 20, 2008
Day 5 - At Sea - Thursday, August 21, 2008
Day 6 - Acapulco - Friday, August 22, 2008
Day 7 - At Sea - Saturday, August 23, 2008
Day 8 - At Sea - Sunday, August 24, 2008
Day 9 - Panama Canal - Monday, August 25, 2008
Day 10 - Cartagena - Tuesday, August 26, 2008
Day 11 - At Sea - Wednesday, August 27, 2008
Day 12 - Aruba - Thursday, August 28, 2008
Day 13 - At Sea - Friday, August 29, 2008
Day 14 - At Sea - Saturday, August 30, 2008

Day 15 - Castaway Cay - Sunday, August 31, 2008
Day 16 - Port Canaveral - Monday, September 1, 2008

Guess DCL has some issues on the website to work through.
