Visited my Father in the hospital, the breathing tube is out but a feeding tube is in. He looks so much better now that he can breathe on his own. Hopefully he'll leave ICU tomorrow. :sad2:

Another month gone, it's amazing how time flies when you don't want it to and drags when you want it to fly. Three weeks and two days till I can drive again.

GOOD LUCK at the Dr's Andy. pixiedust: a little magic :grouphug:

Glad your father is doing a bit better.

Howdy all!!!! Have ya missed me? We are the proud parents of a Boxer puppy. As he's only 6 weeks old right now, we can't bring him home for 2 more weeks.

Congrats! He's a cutie! :dogdance:

Ok only took an hour and a 1/2 to ketch up!

Andy I'm really sorry to hear of the pain you were in earier this week. I hope you are feeling better.
DH is after me to get to the Doc re my knees, but I just keep putting it off. My mom even commented last night as she watched me get up off the floor, she said "I'm twice your age and don't have that much trouble getting up"

I've taken to walking down the stairs two feet on each step before I proceed, and cant walk up unless I have something to hold onto. Since I have a hi-ranch, its always up & down. THe kneepain started every so often when I hit 30, and here it is 5 years later and much worse, but I never seem to find the time to go to the doctor, I am almost to the point where I think DH is going to drag me.

Today everything is just sore!!! Friday night we had out Blue & Gold Dinner at Scouts. Between setting up, cleaning up etc etc, Yesterday was pure running around. CCD, Soccer and all the last minute stuff for Devin's Communion.

This morning he made his Communion at the 8:30 mass (way to early if you ask me) Then we had a Brunch from 11-3. So I was in heels since 7:30am. I'm a sneaker girl and my body doesnt respond kindly when I tourture it with dress shoes.
It was a beautiful mass. I'm biased, but DS looked soooooo handsome!!!

So sorry to hear about your knees. I hope you go to the doctor soon & get it checked out! Congrats on your DS's Communion!

Hey guys.

It's been awhile. I came home from WDW last weekend and it's been a blur ever since. Work has been..... well..... let's just say they need to handout Hefty Bags at the front door because the stuff was flying all over the place. All this was capped off on Friday with a phonecall from by boss telling me that my request for help was approve except at a grade higher. Huh? And that there is going to a massive shakeup in my office. Basically the Site Director is being releived of his job. The only thing that surprises me is that it has taken the higher ups this long to do it. I suspect that some of the other dead wood will finally be gotten rid of. All this happens this Friday. The VPs are flying up unannounced.

On a day-to day basis this does not effect me. I only have a dotted-line reporting relationship to him. It does effect me in that, my Global Director is being brought in to run the site. I'm glad because he is the person who can turn the site around. We're not sure however where this leaves my group.

One of the scenerios is that my boss moves into the Global Director position. Your's truely would move into the NA Director position. This explains the reason for bump in grade for my open position. This person becomes my replacement in NJ.

Would I take it? Yea, I think I would. It would mean moving to Atlanta. I'm at a point in my life where I need a change. If this were to happen it would not be till later this year- early 2008.

There are also some other scenerios that could play out. All of which keep me in NJ but make me wonder what boss will do. This concers me. It's going to be an interesting summer.

Lot's to think about.

Thanks.

Wow a lot of happenings going on! I hope everything works out in your favor!

Thank you! :goodvibes DS could use some extra :wizard: because MIL is having surgery 5/7...the day of their practice. She is having the worst kidney removed...which will allow them to remove the rest of the tumor that has grown around her tube. Hopefully she will recover well and we will be here on 5/12 for his FC. :thumbsup2

Best wishes for your MIL! :wizard:

Next thing you know, we'll be finishing each others'

Mornin' pirate:s

I was up crazy early this morning. I have a phone interview at 7 am my time. Not my best time of day in terms of sounding like an intelligent, articulate person. (In case you are wondering, I haven't exactly found the right time of day for that, but my odds are better when I'm awake!)

The one thing no one has mentioned is that on 03:04:05 06/07/08

We will all be SO CLOSE to TOAL!

Hi BIP!!! Glad to see you back to your chatty self!

How is this for nifty? We pay a flat rate for water. Same bill every month. Our meter is in a crawl space behind a wall in our garage - I doubt I could get to it in less than 10 minutes. Not much job security for Andy, but it sure is nice.

That's OK, I just read in the newspaper this morning that the town next to us, are converting all their meters to the type where the meter reader can ride down the street in a car, point a machine from the car to the house, and the reading is sent back to the machine. There was talk of doing that here in our town about 15 years ago, see how far it got don't you.............:lmao: The other town has about 3000 meters and it is going to cost around $1 million dollars to replace all the meters and purchase the equipment. We have over 6000 meters in our township, which get read 4 times a year.

After 28 years of reading the meters the correct way, I'm not about to start guessing at the readings now...............:rotfl:

But if you did, you could sit home all day, making up numbers, keeping your knees up and DISing

YOU DID WHAT??????

How could you have forgotten about Bobby?!?!?!! :confused3  Did you hear that fellow geeks??? Our beloved mascot has been packed away and forgotten collecting dust bunnies. :sad2:

Intervention trip needed....

Luckily, my ST isn't interested in myspace.

Oh but he will be....See im is where they suck them in and then it leads to the ol' "Mom, i want a myspace account so i have to say that i'm 14 to do it." My dd created one about 2 weeks ago even though i told her she doesn't need one. It looks like most of her friends have it.

Now ST wants AIM chat on her phone..YEAH right...i refuse to pay extra for texting on the phone....ST is lucky she has a phone to begin with.

For the acronym challenged, "WM"???

You aren't awake at 7? Must be nice to sleep in!!! :lmao:

That's because it was us lowly, not so smart swabbies looking at it. Took one of you beautiful, clever, highly intelligent wenches to put 2 and 2 together and get more than 3.... :lmao:

Its also after the 75 day mark at 06/03/2008 (which is a Tuesday) so we will all be up at that time discussing our shore excursions, etc. Of course if 06/07/08 was a friday, y'all would still be in chat at 03:04:05

Thank you. Of course the highly ironic thing is I deal in acronyms all day long and can't figure out these simple ones (I was thinking "wenchly mamas" or something DIS related).

If anyone wants to marvel in our federal goverment and get some giggles, check out the FAAT List :lmao: :lmao:

Is this your idea of humor? I guess if it is, you missed the mark again.

A word to the wise, sometimes less is more.

And because you are such a nice guy you must realize that an really rude remark made by anyone would warrent that post being deleted. I really hope that doesn't come to be. The last PC EB repo thread was shut down completely due to rude remarks that went way over the line not only with the members of that group but with the WB repo thread as well.

Have I said or done anything that would lead you to believe I would actually do that? If so, I'm sorry.

You both fail to realize, that because I am a nice guy, I have refrained from making many rude remarks I might otherwise have made along the way. There have been quite a few opportunities.

Thanks so much for sparing us. You really are too kind!

You know I think we are all very fortunate to have the opportunity to enjoy the company of such a quick witted and friendly group of people here. It would be a shame if in our attempts to be humorous we start to push the line a little too far.

I for one enjoy a good laugh and can certainly take it as well as dish it out. But I think it might be nice to keep in mind when we are throwing the zingers around that we are here to be sociable, not constantly get a laugh at each other's expense.

Just something to think about.

After 28 years of reading the meters the correct way, I'm not about to start guessing at the readings now...............:rotfl:

From those of us who pay those bills, I want to say THANK YOU!! I'm sorry that you are still in pain....but I am so glad to know that there is still at least one honest, hard-working man left in the world. Besides my DH, that is!!

"Just wanted to do a something a little special for my 15,000th post on the DIS"

Good evening /Good Afternoon.

Congrat's Verandah man on 15,000 posts.

Cant see any birthdays, if theres one,

Happy birthday to you.

Still have a banging headache so will not be around much, going ot have some rest.

I didn't do too bad! I printed up the list off of QVC site so I knew what I wanted. I got the Micky Diamonique earrings, Mickey 10" ankle bracelet and the set of 4 princess bracelets and pens. I'm wait listed for the tiara necklace birthstone one for July and May. I debated too long on them. i usually use automated ordering.

Congrats on your Disney buying spree! I love the Mickey DMQ earrings! Actually I asked for the necklace for mothers day or my bday! I am going to head up there on Thursday and take a look at some of the Jewelry, I have the advantage of being able to walk into the vault and hand pick what I want this time! My old boss has a “project” for me… We will see how much they are willing to pay me before I accept this little challenge! Its funny, I was the pain in the butt that kept them honest for so many years and now they miss that!
Anyway I saw you are waitlisted for the birthstone necklace! Don’t feel bad that you didn’t get the necklaces apparently the shipment was held up and very few got thru. A good friend of mine was in charge of getting all the disney jewelry passed thru for the show and it just didn’t happen! I’m not sure who you are buying the necklaces for but I will offer up some advise. The June necklace has a pearl for the birthstone. Why they just post set it is beyond me but that is all the support it has. Needless to say one good bump and that pearl is long gone. All the other necklaces are prong set, sometimes in children’s jewelry they will post the pearl and then flat prong it for added security. Now QVC does offer a lifetime guarantee for any missing stones so there isn’t a worry except that it will be gone for a while being repaired/replaced. A lot of places will tell you that you can switch the pearl birthstone for an amethyst since that is one of the many stones for June. I of course always want to stick with the Alexandrite but who can afford a real no lab created one! If you are set on the pearl then by all means get it just make sure that the girls are extra careful with it I would hate to see tears!
You will have to let us know how things are when ya get them! I love delivery day!
