And you just had to see how gross he was everyday, eh?

One time.....my mom and I did take a peek. We could see into his yard from MY bedroom window (lucky for me :sad2:). He was walking around in all his glory. When it came time to lay down to tan himself, he would cover his ummmmm....how do I not offend anyone here....."frank and beans" with a tiny little washcloth. I guess he didn't want his frank roasted.

The most upsetting part to this is he would do this right in front of his teenage daughter! YUK!

I was thinking the same thing. Somehow she KNEW he sunbathed nude EVERY DAY.

I couldn't help it....It was right outside MY bedroom window!

Now.....if he had looked like Matthew McConaughey......:rolleyes1

TREMORS CAN BE SCARY THINGS. HOPE NOONE WAS HURT.

We survived our second week with our 3.5 month old grandson. He really has been a little angel. I'd forgotten how much fun it is to see them doing new things. I haven't been able to do much with my shoulder so all the work falls on DW. She's been asleep by 8:30pm almost every night. I wonder if the kids know what a bargain they're getting. We will look around for a sitter or something next year, we miss our vacations, and we were looking forward to cruising and island fun for the winter.

ANDY- what's your Dr. Mary had Budens for bother her knees.

Four years ago I had a great job that I loved, worked out of the basement and really worked two days a week. That all ended when a semi jackknifed and crushed me against a concrete barrier. Lots of pain and two operations including this torn rotator cuff. The Insurance company finally agreed to a settlement. Thank God that's behind us. It's taken a while to get use to the forced retirement. Fortunetly we were good savers.

ANDREW - Did I mention that CASH IN THE ATTIC is my favorite show. I'm watching it right now.

Today we're going out. I haven't been out in over two weeks, except to the Dr's. The dishwasher is leaking, so we decided to just replace it. Sears is having a big sale with free installation.

Anyone into ING. Our accountant told me to put some funds there. I would never have put money into a bank that doesn't exist. There electric Orange is paying 5.3% interest. A really great rate.

Have a great weekend.:cool1:

Hi John,

All I can say is bless you, must seem like you and Mary are starting all over again with the wee little one.

I go to Dr. Obade, he has done 6 of my 7 knee surgeries, his partner Dr. George did my first knee surgery back in 1972, but Dr. George is semi-retired and not doing surgeries any longer. Dr. George did Hazel's hip replacement surgery four years ago however.

Oh well, I've put this off long enough, it's time to get some bills paid and I have two checkbooks that need to be balanced, so I had better get a move on it. Will be back later to see what is going on......................

Hi everyone!

Sorry I haven't been around much but maybe soon I will have a little more time to get on here... busy bees around here!

But I'm doing great and the kids are doing great and all is well in the world... well EXCEPT for the fact that my youngest doesn't seem to want to ACCEPT that we're not going on a Disney cruise THIS summer. How many times can a 6yr old "forget" that I've already told her not this summer but next summer? :rotfl:

End of school coming around the corner- time seems to be going so fast as it always does at this time of year. then we'll have youngest's birthday and lots of various camps the kids will be going to (with church, girl Scouts, boy scouts, band camp, cheer camp- you name it). But I should soon have a bit more time to get online.

Lately my time has been spent teaching this old dog a new habit (LOL so to speak) because my sister harrassed me unmercilessly into finally getting a myspace account. What I had to learn was html... it's not easy teaching an old brain like this a new trick like that. literally hurt my brain and gave me a headache the other day. LOL

So anyway, I may be a bit behind the times and fight change and all that- but I do finally have a myspace account. If anyone would like to add me to your friend list and you to mine- I would love that! I don't know if I can put the link here- so to be safe I'll just say put the my space website url with my name shellmomof3 after it and you should be able to find me that way. :) My page isn't exactly like I'd like it but it's as good as it's going to get for now... I'll play around with it more later. LOL

Hope everyone is doing well! I've missed you all!

Hi Bip! We've missed you - glad to hear things are going well.

I just left chat a few minutes ago....

... it was nice to catch so many folks - even though it was fairly brief as I only "hung out" for a few minutes (as opposed to a few hours as I have on occasion). I just wanted to say it was nice to see everyone out in chat!

So - the bunk bed is almost ready to be completed (core unit) - as the structural expansion components are half installed - and those which are not are stained with 2-3 coats of poly-stain - and drying out throughly before I install the smelly stuff in the kids' bedroom. Hmmm... maybe I'll go and ask if they have any poly seals which do not give off so much gas smell... and if so then maybe i can SEAL the stuff I've stained already!?

At any rate... this weekend I plan on finishing the install... and putting it into basic use this weekend. And through next week I'll finish the decorative panels, stairs and last I'll build the slide. that't the plan now...

Here is a hand painted image over a real photo of the actual bunk bed unit. However, our bunk bed is 16" deeper to allow for a FULL SIZED bed on top with the desk set back that much further. Plus - the stone work to be painted on in 3 dimensional foam is not shown. I'm gonna hand carve the foam with a hot wire. The corner towner will be framed out in 1x4 wood as will the door way below. Not sure about the battlements though - that would be too much work... I'll have to attack that with something else to lend it some durability and notpose any hazard to the kids. or maybe I'll dispense with half the battlements ... ??? Only have battlements where the kids can't quite reach it?

You are so talented!!

I am lucky I know (I think) how to turn on my computer, put windshield washer fluid in my car(it took me awhile and a few broken nails on how to open up the hood).

It is going to look great!

:wave2: ALL!

Asking for prayers and pixiedust: come Sunday am at 121:01 PST. That is when I will hopefully be online booking our Med excursions as that is my 90 day mark. I'm keeping my fingers "crossed" along with anything else I can keep crossed in the hopes that I get the ones I want.

Seems that the ones I want to do are getting sold out quickly and of course our ship is almost nearly full! :scared1: Just my luck right. Anyway, first time booking online excursions so this will be lots of fun - NOT!!!!!

We've been having lots of problems with our internet as Verizon switched our AP address for some reason and forgot to notify us - consequently when it sloowwwwwwssss wwwwayyyyyyy down - we have to reset it and that is not good. Then dawg gawn it - we can only book excursions spots for the number in our cabin - not our group - another dawg gawn it! Makes it tough for a family of 6 oh well - live and learn.

OK - think of me and send your pixiedust: - I'll do the same for others!

pixiedust: pixiedust: comes your way so that you get all the excursions and ressies you want!

It's a surprise, we do not get many here, and you wouldnt expect it in Kent, its near the channel tunnel railway entrance but Eurostar trains say no problem, but some houses have small damage and gas leaks might be around.

People report a 6 sec wobble of homes, thinking a truck had crashed or an explosion.

No reports of injuries though so thats good.

Andrew - I hope no one is injured. Keep us informed.

Have a great weekend.:cool1:

KENT: only one person injured thank fully but 300 gas leaks and lots of damage to roofs, many people in shelters.

Cash in attic: Know that BBC show, on in our daytime.

ING: Aware of company, its well known here so ok, but there are many international banks, our interest rates are set to rise more soon May 10th, Do you have HSBC, the have online as well.

I've just come home now and it's 24o up here on the east coast - funny you should mention the earthquakes where you're from. Glad that everyone is fine.

David

Nice hot weather

You mean we can ....
REFILL our own windshield washer fluid???

Hmmm....

Ya learn somethin' new everyday on the DIS, I tell ya!

<chuckles>

Thanks fer yer encouragement...

My dear spouse has been slightly skeptical at times...

She knows only too well of the little projects which remain .... incomplete around our home. After 24 years together (since our 1st date) she does know a thing or two about me that few others could NOT begin to fantom or imagine! As do I about her... <quieter chuckles>.... I am NOT perfect... contrary to what I may suggest at other times.

I'm waiting now for the morning to move along to the point where I can use my circular saw. I just have to cut a few plywood and particle wood panels to use on the bunk bed. I'm using the plywood for the short dimension bunk bed base; and the particle wood is being used to run a perimeter to guard against any of the kids slipping a limb through to reach or slip below the bunk bed through the floor at the edges (inside upper bunk frame). Also, the particle board makes it impossible for the upper bed to collapse onto the area below the bunk bed. The CPSC cited 3 cases where horseplay below a shoddy bunkbed caused a collapse of the upper bed onto the lower level - causing suffocation and loss of life. I don't wanna know how many cases involved a collapsing bunk bed and mere injury. Plus, I've studied the range of other known design hazards possible with or in a bunk bed. Can't have anything like these hazards 'round here now, can we?
