Hope they were great!

I have seen posts asking where she is, what happended etc, I will post a private PM below, and I have said EVERYONE here is sending their very best wishes to her at this time.

Julie although I have never met her, (but wish to do so, ) is a very warm person and the situation must be a drain on her, and I know how that feels.

Thanks Andrew, I have wondered about Julie.

Hi everyone!

Sorry I haven't been around much but maybe soon I will have a little more time to get on here... busy bees around here!

But I'm doing great and the kids are doing great and all is well in the world... well EXCEPT for the fact that my youngest doesn't seem to want to ACCEPT that we're not going on a Disney cruise THIS summer. How many times can a 6yr old "forget" that I've already told her not this summer but next summer? :rotfl:
Glad to hear from you Shelley!

:wave2: ALL!

Asking for prayers and pixiedust: come Sunday am at 121:01 PST. That is when I will hopefully be online booking our Med excursions as that is my 90 day mark. I'm keeping my fingers "crossed" along with anything else I can keep crossed in the hopes that I get the ones I want.

Seems that the ones I want to do are getting sold out quickly and of course our ship is almost nearly full! :scared1: Just my luck right. Anyway, first time booking online excursions so this will be lots of fun - NOT!!!!!

We've been having lots of problems with our internet as Verizon switched our AP address for some reason and forgot to notify us - consequently when it sloowwwwwwssss wwwwayyyyyyy down - we have to reset it and that is not good. Then dawg gawn it - we can only book excursions spots for the number in our cabin - not our group - another dawg gawn it! Makes it tough for a family of 6 oh well - live and learn.

OK - think of me and send your pixiedust: - I'll do the same for others!

:wizard: Good luck Laura

We've always had good head servers, albeit useless ones in terms of food and drink delivery -- I don't think I ever saw them help out, food-wise.

On the 10-day HC, our HS seemed standoffish at first, but then he came by one night and SWMBO asked him where in France he was from and they talked for awhile because she had visited there in HS and after that, he was really friendly with us and the kids.

They can be hit or miss

I know which Head Server you are talking about - on our first night he realised I was from Wales and we talked about Rugby and beating the English (:dance3: ). He made a bee-line for me and my family every night thereafter !!

David
You had a good one

:bday: AndrewS Hope both of your Birthday's were GRRRRREAT!!!
Thank you

Andrew thanks for posting this update about Julie. I hope all is well for her soon!
Lets wish the best for her.

Andrew is a gracious and kind gentleman, not a scabbie swabbie. He has no problems sharing whatsoever!!! Besides, who says life is fair? And, isn't it typical of a wench to only allow half? ;)

You are very welcome!!!

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:
Thank you and everyone for the Birthday wishes again and nice cake pictures,

I just noticed that this thread is now in 2nd place in total replies made. We still have a long way to go to take over 1st place, but the cruise is still a long way off.....................;)

My Med thread is catching up with 1550 posts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:lmao:

Hope they were great!
Thank you
Thanks Andrew, I have wondered about Julie.

Lets wish her the best.

We had a 4.7 Earthquake In Kent

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Reports coming in since 8.15am today of a large tremour or Earthquake in Kent, around Folkstone or Ashford, Eurostar ok, early reports said an explosion but more people saying earthquake.

Thanks everyone. I really am sorry for not being around much. I hate when I'm busy and not around for awhile because I just know I've missed tons!!!!

CaptainCrash... that is going to be the coolest bunkbed! I know my youngest daughter would FLIP with a bed like that!!! (and is that a slide too? oh wow... dream bunkbed for little girls!)

Oh hey, I forgot to mention if you go look at my myspace page- stay there long enough for my background music to load. Whoever is first at recognizing all the music clips (and where they came from: movie/etc.) will get a little special something "prize" from BIP on the cruise. (bonus points if you go to blog page and recognize that one music clip too. You'll have to click on "view all blog entries" to hear the background music on that page) :)

(my myspace page is shellmomof3)

Morning-hope you are feeling better.

Hi Andrew--yes I am feeling somewhat better this morning, the THERA-GESIC that Cheryl told me about works much better than the Mineral Ice and the Icy Hot, I was trying before. I give THERA-GESIC a :thumbsup2

Oh my, that doesn't sound good.

Oh my, that doesn't sound good.

It's a surprise, we do not get many here, and you wouldnt expect it in Kent, its near the channel tunnel railway entrance but Eurostar trains say no problem, but some houses have small damage and gas leaks might be around.

People report a 6 sec wobble of homes, thinking a truck had crashed or an explosion.

No reports of injuries though so thats good.

BBC NEWS

Earthquake shakes parts of Kent

An earthquake with a magnitude of at least 4.3 has shaken parts of Kent, damaging buildings and disrupting electricity supplies.
Emergency services have received reports of structural damage including cracked walls and fallen chimneys in Folkestone and nearby areas.
The British Geological Survey said the tremor, which occurred at 0818 BST, had its epicentre out in the Dover Straits.
It said this was the largest UK quake since one in 2002 in the West Midlands.
The earthquake was reportedly felt as far afield as Essex, East Sussex and Suffolk.

EDF Energy said it had managed to restore electricity to most of the several thousand homes left without power in the Folkestone and Dover area.
Scottish and Southern Energy, which supplies gas to the area, said it was investigating 300 "possible gas escapes".
"Obviously there is a smell about and people have been reporting it and we have to attend every single report," a spokesman.
"But at the moment we are not sure if it is natural gas brought up by the earthquake, which can happen, or leaks from pipes."
Significant tremor
David Booth of the British Geological Survey said the tremor, which lasted a few seconds, was of a sizeable magnitude.
"It's certainly the largest in the UK since an earthquake in Dudley in the West Midlands in 2002 and that also caused damage. So this is a very significant tremor."

Dr Brian Baptie, also of the British Geological Survey, told BBC News 24 that the epicentre was seven miles (12km) south of Dover, out in the English Channel.
Randy Baldwin from the US Geological Survey, which monitors earthquakes, said the tremor had a preliminary magnitude of 4.7.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said it had received more than a 100 emergency calls and was having to deal with "several incidents".
Most of these were reports of structural damage, but a fire engine had also been sent to Folkestone to investigate a "smell of gas".
A Eurostar spokesman said everything was running normally in the Channel Tunnel.
Violent shaking
Sharon Hayles, from Stanford near the Eurotunnel terminal at Folkestone, said her house slid from side to side for about 10 to 15 seconds.
Another Folkestone man told BBC Five Live Breakfast that his whole house "shook quite violently".

Eyewitness Lorraine Muir said: "We've been evacuated by the Sally Army; we've got no gas or electricity."
Paul Smye-Rumsby, who lives in Dover, said: "It was about 08.15 when suddenly the bed shook violently.
"I thought my wife had got cramp or something but then I saw the curtains were moving and the whole house was shaking. It lasted about 1.5 seconds.
"All the power is off and we have got the portable radio on. People are standing outside talking to each other about it."

Quakes in the UK

December 2006 - Dumfries and Galloway (3.5 on Richter scale)
2002 in Warwick (4.2)
September 2002 - Dudley, West Midlands (5.0)
October 2001 - Melton Mowbray (4.1)
April 1990 - Bishop's Castle, Shropshire (5.1)
July 1984 - Nefyn, north Wales (5.4)
June 1931 - in North Sea near Great Yarmouth (6.1)
