This time the Blonde got the last laugh!!!


A blonde, wanting to earn some extra money, decided to hire herself out as a
"handy-woman" and started canvassing a nearby well-to-do neighborhood.
She went to the front door of the first house, and asked the owner if he had
any odd jobs for her to do.
"Well, I guess I could use somebody to paint my porch," he said. "How much
would you charge me?"

The blonde quickly responded, "How about $50?" The man agreed and told her
that the paint and everything she would need were in the garage.

The man's wife, hearing the conversation, said to her husband, "Does she
realize that our porch goes all the way around the house?" He responded,
"That's a bit cynical, isn't it?"
The wife replied, "You're right. I guess I'm starting to believe all those
'dumb blonde' jokes we've been getting by e-mail lately."

A short time later, the blonde came to the door to collect her money.
"You're finished already?" the husband asked.
"Yes," the blonde replied, "and I had paint left over, so I gave it two coats."

Impressed, the man reached into his pocket for the $50.00 and handed it to
her.
"And by the way," the blonde added, "It's not a Porch, it's a Lexus."

I gang! Back from the visit to my parents, and leaving for Las Vegas tomorrow. Just popped in for a minute, no way am I catching up.
I did see that Andy is having trouble....
Andy....I'm so sorry!!! Wish I could do more than just offer my sympathy for your pain!!

I asked our HR Director today if JoJo the DISDog was eligible to come to work as my child?

She said no.

At one point, my Dad was telecommuting & he had set up an ‘office’ in what had once been my Mom’s side of their walk in closet. I was an adult at the time. He called one night and very formally invited me to come sit with him in the closet for the day!

You said it all. Andy is our heart on the board that keeps us ticking. Lil' Grumpy is the conscious of the board. who make us all think about life. Now if we only had a brain????

Cheryl, I agree that Andy is the heart, LilGrumpy is the conscience and obviously Tom and J.R. are the quibbling smart add brothers who are always trying to outdo the other. "M" is the girl next door. Lisa is "mom" who keeps us in line and makes us "play nice".....

AAaawwww. (I think). I was never the girl next door. How do I know this? In HS, the boy next door was HOT and never looked twice at me.

I figure a couple of scotches and I'll hit the kitchen floor and that ought to help. Just as long as SWMBO doesn't come home and call 911.

Hi Karen--my knee is still quite sore and stiff this morning, we are having a great deal of rain moving through our area today, which doesn't help. Didn't sleep very well last night either. I did order one of the heating pads, figured it couldn't hurt anything but my bank account............

Ours too! Top 100 companies for working families. I've been here 8 1/2 years and we never stop laughing about all the crap we should have. The one we really liked was the mention of the chair massages. Yup they came once or twice a year, set up shop in the lounge and you paid for it. Not a freebie and they were students from one of the schools nearby. Lots of our workers were worse off after the massage We also offer flex but only to one division and childcare is only there when we have a hurricane. I was wondering why a bunch of kids were there yesterday and it probably waas TYCTW but we didn't know about it. But the benefits are excellent and that is the main reason most of us have stayed so long. But we are all walking on thin ice at any time if we offend or have a bad call with a customer.

Gee I wonder if we work for the same company lol!

Our SD says TYKTWD is an unexcused absence.

I honestly have no idea what the Dept of Ed's official policy on it is. My DH Sarg said his daughter came home from hee school (public also) with a note saying they would be excused. He called my DH Wed night to see if he was bringing the kids in. We had no clue it wasTYKTWD. I called a friend who is a teacher and she said YUP !

Excused, or unexcused. It really doesnt matter to me. I will take my kids out of school for any reason I see fit.
They rarely miss school due to illness (knock on wood) so the occasional absence for vacation or family reasons doesnt effect them much.

I missed the run by going to Friendly's for dinner.

I would have preferred Friendly's myself, but we don't have those around these parts.

I didn't care for her attitude. Last night she said that she has to focus too much on her feet that she can't worry about the top half of her body being right. Well...considering that she said she didn't want any special treatment...she needed to focus on both. Carrie Ann was on the View today & Heather was suppose to be on too but when she found out that CA would be there...she cancelled. She blamed her for being voted off because of the 7. WHABULANCE on the way.

I agree about her complaining and whining. She doesn't have a leg to stand on .....

Tina, that is great news! Our neighbors listed their house a couple of weeks ago and sold it on the 2nd day.

For all I hear of the housing market, we just had a good friend put their house on the market and got their asking price after three days. They're moving to Hilton Head (sigh).

Two of the neighbor kids have those. They are "suppose" to only use them in the back yard. Well somehow DS was shot in the back in their neighbor's front yard. When the other kid gets mad...the bully...he starts shooting at the kids.

After some more investigation, this kids just a moron. Has told DS#2 that he doesn't like him and "stay off our property." There are 3 kids his age (12) on street and he hangs with the 9 year olds instead..... Not sure what we have gotten is truth or "parents wanna hear" stuff (you know that cute way young kids want to tell you the worst when it isn't true because they think you want to hear it - well they don't tell me, they tell DW) but he apparently has been shooting at the kids too.

Of course we are the "new kids on the street" moved in just under a year ago. This kid doesn't like us, as the 9 yo crowd has been hanging on our trampoline instead of with him.....

Just have to keep my eyes open....
