Cheryl, I agree that Andy is the heart, LilGrumpy is the conscience and obviously Tom and J.R. are the quibbling smart add brothers who are always trying to outdo the other. "M" is the girl next door. Lisa is "mom" who keeps us in line and makes us "play nice".....:lmao: :lmao:

Judy, my sentiments exactly!:)

Hello All :wave2:
Just a little update, Please tell me if this is normal or not :confused3
I just listed our house yesterday and by the way NO I am not done painting yet but I didn't want to miss the market either. I got a call last night that there would be 4 showings today. 1:15, 3:45, 5:30, 6:30 WOW after the first appointment I get a call that they are making an offer.

Deposit made and it was only a 1,000 less then I was asking. They are already pre-qualified for a mortgage. Is it really this easy? I have been sooooo stressed for what?:rotfl2:

Fingers crossed everything else goes this smooth.

Tina, that is great news! Our neighbors listed their house a couple of weeks ago and sold it on the 2nd day. :)

Thanks to all for the warm responses.

Hmmm....DeVry stock jumped 6.39% today! Investors love the belt-tightening of a company. http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=DV

Unfortunately, that means DW and 8 other faculty members were announced to being laid off today:sad1: . She'll be onboard until June 30th, then receive 10 weeks of severance pay, so that puts us into September.

It was a great job for our DDs. Although she was full-time w/great salary, she taught evenings and Saturdays so she was home during the day for our DDs. It seemed like we were single parents at times because we'd pass in the doorway as I came home from work and she left, but we took pride in never putting the girls in daycare. Fortunately, they're 6 & 8 now, so I think the more critical time has passed and they may actually enjoy a few hours with kids their age after school should we need to do so to accomodate a new job.

I'm sure she'll find something. She's pretty marketable with 11 years teaching CIS (computer information systems) courses, some computer forensics background (I'm very careful what websites I visit:lmao: ) and a nearly completed PhD. She could likely find something working with a company versus teaching that pays much more than she earned teaching, but she just loves teaching and the flexible schedule. Her PhD is focused in Distance Learning (Online College Courses), which it's ironic because they cited the increase number of students doing online courses as a reason to let her go.

Thanks again everyone...I think we've now moved into Acceptance...What's the next step? :)

 for your DW and family. I always remember that when God closes a door he opens a window.

Joel, I was just ketching up, and hoped I wouldn't read of your wife's layoff. What's the next step? I think it will be through the door way that is about to open for your DW. Remember, when one door shuts, another one opens.

I commend you and your dw for the sacrifices you have made to be with your children. I agree they are at an age now that leaving them in childcare will be much easier. And look at the bright side, you will get to spend much more time together as a family.

I think that this is a wonderful thing that can come out of this change. :thumbsup2

Hi Everyone!!! Happy Thursday!

I didn't DIS yesterday and I missed you guys........

Yesterday I had a dye/highlight job and tonight I had my Rosacea treatment.........and you know what?????????

MY FACE HURTS AGAIN!

MR, hope you get to feeling better! How many of those treatments do you have to get?

I have two more treatments Lorri, but my nose is still pretty purple, so maybe I'll need more. I really hope not, not only because they hurt, but because they cost $300 each and are NOT covered by insurance. Having a purple nose isn't medical...it's cosmetic....have you ever??

My favorite color is purple but you are so right . The purple nose is not cosmetic. The insurance companies show no sympathy.:sad2:

Sorry the treatment hurts. :flower3:

I did not mean to omit the Aunt Mary Rose keeper of the hands who carries the blender for our family!!!:goodvibes :lmao: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hey Kar....help a girl out IKWYM??? I'm acroymninally challenged! :lmao:

That is so cool about DD's communion...are you having a party?? I have the male ST sick (again) and the female ST at work....and she's doing pretty well with tips already too! I'm thinkin' of chuckin' HR and waitressing! :rotfl2:

You would do well with that blender in tow! :lmao: Bartending paid off my student loans after college. :thumbsup2

One of my neighbors calls tonight to tell us that another neighbor bought a pellet gun for his son's 12th birthday and the kid keeps it in his room except when target shooting in back yard.

Of course talking to the kids on street, he brings it out when all the kids are around, in the front yard, etc.

And he is the "pushy" type who hangs out with all the younger kids....

What do some people think? :confused3

 Two of the neighbor kids have those. They are "suppose" to only use them in the back yard. Well somehow DS was shot in the back in their neighbor's front yard. When the other kid gets mad...the bully...he starts shooting at the kids.

Hope your's is feeling better tomorrow - I already know that mine will be 100 times worse before the end of the work day, then I have to deal with the idiots at the grocery store (don't usually do that particular chore on Friday night but have no choice this week).

Catch everyone tomorrow!

I will trade you! The school dance is tomorrow night so decorating in the am, fundraiser for Build a Buddy 12-2 then 5-7:30 for the dance. :scared:

9pm:) Are you going to come play with us?

You would do well with that blender in tow! :lmao: Bartending paid off my student loans after college. :thumbsup2

So not only are you the mother of all of us naughty children but you can be our Official Bartender.:confused3 Can you make a good Margarita???? In my young days I could do Zombies with the 151 proof rum!!!:woohoo:

I need a tall glass of scotch. I've got this massive headache that I've been fighting all day. Advil lessens the pain but it just keeps lingering beneath the surface and won't go away and now it is back with a vengenance.

I figure a couple of scotches and I'll hit the kitchen floor and that ought to help. Just as long as SWMBO doesn't come home and call 911.

Single malt? :thumbsup2 Not a big scotch fan, but Jamaican or Dominican rum? :cloud9:
