Hello, havent had time to 'ketchup' as yet, quick glance saw so note for me will come to that soon, but I want to share something with everyone on this thread.

You will know Julie was/is a major contributor to this thread, but after one post, had to leave us quickly and had to cancel her cruise.

She is so funny and caring, I have had a lot of 'joking' posts to/from each other nice banter with her.

I have seen posts asking where she is, what happended etc, I will post a private PM below, and I have said EVERYONE here is sending their very best wishes to her at this time.

Julie although I have never met her, (but wish to do so, ) is a very warm person and the situation must be a drain on her, and I know how that feels.

This is the right day, correct? I was thinking about you and hope you have a terrific day. A family member entered the hospital on March 18 and is still there, so I have not been able to find the time or the emotional energy to be on the Dis . . . hopefully everything wil eventually resolve for the better. Have a wonderful birthday and be good to yourself.

One day Jesus is walking through Heaven when he notices that there's been a rash of 'colorful characters' being let into Heaven recently. He notices that there are not the usual types. Now the incoming includes: thieves, liars and cheats and other characters. So, while he doesn't want to send them back he's wondering how they were getting in. So, he goes to St. Peter and he tells him, "OK, we won't send them back but don't let anymore in - close the door." St. Peter says OK.

A few days later Jesus is again walking around when he notices that there are even more "colorful characters" around then last time. So he goes to see St. Peter again and tells him - "What did you do? Did you not understand my orders? I told you to close the doors and don't let anyone else in."

Well, St. Peter, sweat pouring sweat down his face tells Jesus, "I know my Lord, but when you told me to close the door, your Mother opened a window!

That's cute!

Good morning everyone! Hope everyone is well. I see I've got a lot of ketchup to do.

This time the Blonde got the last laugh!!!

A blonde, wanting to earn some extra money, decided to hire herself out as a
"handy-woman" and started canvassing a nearby well-to-do neighborhood.
She went to the front door of the first house, and asked the owner if he had
any odd jobs for her to do.
"Well, I guess I could use somebody to paint my porch," he said. "How much
would you charge me?"

The blonde quickly responded, "How about $50?" The man agreed and told her
that the paint and everything she would need were in the garage.

The man's wife, hearing the conversation, said to her husband, "Does she
realize that our porch goes all the way around the house?" He responded,
"That's a bit cynical, isn't it?"
The wife replied, "You're right. I guess I'm starting to believe all those
'dumb blonde' jokes we've been getting by e-mail lately."

A short time later, the blonde came to the door to collect her money.
"You're finished already?" the husband asked.
"Yes," the blonde replied, "and I had paint left over, so I gave it two coats."

Impressed, the man reached into his pocket for the $50.00 and handed it to
her.
"And by the way," the blonde added, "It's not a Porch, it's a Lexus."

I found it online. They have a web site where you can download the program. The program is called Kaleidoscope Kreator 2.0 :surfweb:

Thanks, I'll have to take a look when things settle down for me!

The should rename it to HYKDYCAWD

Have your kids drive you crazy at work day

I have HYKDYCATT! ( Have you kid drive you crazy all the time! LOL!)

That's way I didn't bring her to work!

Hello All :wave2:
Just a little update, Please tell me if this is normal or not :confused3
I just listed our house yesterday and by the way NO I am not done painting yet but I didn't want to miss the market either. I got a call last night that there would be 4 showings today. 1:15, 3:45, 5:30, 6:30 WOW after the first appointment I get a call that they are making an offer.

Deposit made and it was only a 1,000 less then I was asking. They are already pre-qualified for a mortgage. Is it really this easy? I have been sooooo stressed for what?:rotfl2:

Fingers crossed everything else goes this smooth.

That is fantastic! I'm glad for you. I just meet with the real estate agent last nihgt to list my dad's house. Hoping some of your pixie dust comes my way!

Thanks to all for the warm responses.

Unfortunately, that means DW and 8 other faculty members were announced to being laid off today:sad1: . She'll be onboard until June 30th, then receive 10 weeks of severance pay, so that puts us into September.

It was a great job for our DDs. Although she was full-time w/great salary, she taught evenings and Saturdays so she was home during the day for our DDs. It seemed like we were single parents at times because we'd pass in the doorway as I came home from work and she left, but we took pride in never putting the girls in daycare. Fortunately, they're 6 & 8 now, so I think the more critical time has passed and they may actually enjoy a few hours with kids their age after school should we need to do so to accomodate a new job.

Thanks again everyone...I think we've now moved into Acceptance...What's the next step? :)

My dd has been in before and after school care since kindergarten. She likes that she gets to play with the other kids. Conpared to what daycare costs, I pay 1/2 of what I did than. The local YMCA runs the latch key program in her school, so she is comfortable with the setting.

Good wishes to your wife.

Andy, we are in the process of returning a medical device that Rich used to put on his knees each night. It emitted a small electrical charge and the idea is #1 to ease the pain and #2 to grow back cartilage. It is approved by Medicare and you know how picky they are. Problem was they wanted us to buy the unit at 5100. Of course we could turn the bill over to medicare and they will pick it up but aside from him not haveing any pain for close to a year, occasionally he would go to sleep and the charge was a bit too high and get irritations. Being the big Baby he is, he stopped using the unit and therefore it is going back. The name of the company is Bionicare web is www.bionicare.com. Read about it and see if your insurance covers it. Hope it gets better.
Have to run him over to the Dr for his head cold. I don't want to deal with his chest getting worse over the weekend.

I used to be a big beer drinker (and have the gut to prove it), but once I had kids, I had to switch to the stronger stuff.

I've had a case of Iron City in my fridge downstairs for close to a year.

That's where it should stay. IC is undrinkable swill!

IC was the first beer I ever drank and therefore there is a special soft spot in my stomach for it. And you may want to be careful. You don't want to see a gang of Pittsburgh steelworkers at your doorstep.

Just to clarify Julie contacted me, which is just like her, as its my birthday to send a good wish, when she has familiy who are ill.

It really touched me and I told her we all wish her the best and encourgaged her to post, when she can.

Ok, I can see when I am not wanted. Anybody want my stateroom?

(If you must know, the thing that pushed me over the edge was the trip to HOJOs.)

Yeah especially since she doesn't have a doorstep yet!!!! Is that what they call them .......not a gaggle of steelworkers?

If that beer did that to my stomach ....I don't think I would drink it again......soft spots are horrible.
