I guess this is kind of funny, but the mail just arrived and there was an ad for a Thermotex Infrared Heating Pad: http://www.biotechresearch.com/thermotex_heatingpad.php It is a bit on the costly side, but if it would work, it might be worth ordering one. Does anyone know anything about this heating pad, or have any thoughts on this?

Andy have never heard of this product. I too have a bad knee and hip, but have always used our microwavable heating bag. Kind of looks like a giant tube sock stuffed with either corn, flax seed or beans (not sure what is inside). Anyway when you microwave it for 2-3 mins it provides moist heat (this is what really does the trick not dry heat) and lasts for at least an hour or more. We can't remember where we got it maybe Bed bath and Beyond or someplace like that. Lots on the Internet. I feel for you Andy and hope that it gets better. And we still have a long way to go to the TOAL.

As the old saying goes, "If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all" Hazel just got off the phone with my orthopedic doc's receptionist. My doc is out of town until late next week, and the first appointment that is available to see him is May 18th. I guess I'll be living on pain pills a little longer, it's not funny, but I've got to  which is much better than :sad1:

We all send our best to VM well said.
Gump....Pity you are not on my Med cruise.
Bra!:scared1: earmuffs?

Brack those are all so nice! I have saved them. There has to be some cool way of using them in a scrapbook. :)

Thanks.

I hope people can use them. I'll be happy to make others as well.

Well...the Good news is that we may not have to pay the Alternative Minimum Tax for this tax year. However, the bad news is that my DW may be laid off tomorrow.:sad1:

The bright side, she is finishing her PhD coursework in the next 3 weeks and this may allow her more time to focus on her dissertation.

:sad2: :grouphug:

Good point and you must factor in that I have been requested to upload the Med Navigators as they will give us clues for the 2008 Repo, and photos of the Med so that could increase my daily thread post count.

Additionally you might have noticed its Thursday morning and I am posting, when I am usually at work, Have to go to the Doctors soon.

( and its aken me 20 mins to post this!) Sloooooooooooooooooow.

I hope all goes well with the Doc. :thumbsup2 Just think you have the MED and the TOAL:cloud9:

Thanks Cheryl, I'll see if I can find that, I've heard about it before, but never tried it.

I'm feeling a bit better this morning, but then again I've been off my feet most of last night, I'll see how the morning goes once I get to work and start walking. It's a very chilly and damp start here this morning, which isn't going to help much either.

My whole back from neck to lower back is horrible. I was told about Theragesic from my physical therapist. You put in on in layers. I usually put on three layers of the cream!!! Girfriend had shots in the knee but do not last very long!!!!:sad1: These are for you.:flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

Andy, hope you feel better, we seem to be linked, just been to the Doctors as I have been getting headaches etc, told high blood pressure, take it easy, go for walks, ban on all fatty food etc.

I am sure blodd pressure is very stress related. The Doc gave you some good things to do to stay fit.:thumbsup2

PS Love the pictures of George Bush dancing and playing the bongo's today, he is sooo cool!

Its on our TV all the time. Is he going to be on ''Dancing with the stars''?

NO COMMENT!!!!;)

Most important is to cut down on the salt in your diet. When I cut out the layer of salt I was putting on my food, the BP went down and I lost 30 lbs. Too bad the lbs came back but the pressure is pretty stable.

At least getting rid of high blood pressure is a really good thing.:goodvibes I got off my meds too for high blood pressure by losing weight.:woohoo:

Mornin' pirate:s

Haven't ketched up yet...not much time today. I have a phone interview in about an hour. Requesting prayers, pixie dust, and crossing anything you are able to cross!

I'll ketchup with you tonight!

Talkem dead!!!!:woohoo:

Actually, I'm sitting here in my chair with tears streaming down my face as Hazel is fixing me something for lunch. The pain is just as bad as yesterday, if not more. I don't know how much more of this I can take. I'm seriously thinking of looking into signing up for Disability Pension, if I can't get a total knee replacement done. Of course, that knocks out all plans for a TOAL for us, but I need to do something, I can't live like this anymore. Sorry to be a downer folks, but I could use everyone's positive thoughts right now.

Oh Andy I feel so bad for you. I just read this post. Why can't you get total knee replacement!!!! Sounds like you are the perfect candidate for it.:confused3

Your comment about "crossing anything" made me do a Google search. This was the funniest item I ran across.

This is not meant to profess any political views but it is really funny! :lmao:

Andy,

You need to get to your doctor right away and discuss your options. I know the pain is unbearable. I have been thru two knee surgeries and prior to the surgeries it was very debilitating. I know surgery is the last resort but you have to get checked out. In the position you work in you need to be able to walk. Please have Hazel call your doctor.

I am sending you:grouphug: and pixiedust:

Andy I am so sorry for your pain. :sad2:

A couple of years ago I had extreme pain in my right hip (I had it for several years) and a total hip replacement made the world of difference for me. It is a tough decision but I pray that the best thing happens for you. :grouphug:

Andrew it seems like you haven't had the best of luck lately either. Be very careful with those headaches & high blood pressure. It could lead to something very serious (not that I'm an expert by any means, but I've been told the signs to watch for in DH) so I hope you take Doc's advice!

LG I gotta tell ya...I actually had tears in my eyes when I read this. You are very observant of all that goes on around here. ;) I appreciate your kind thoughts they mean more then you could possibly know!

Andy,

This sounds like the pad they use for my physical therapy.
The heating pad covers my whole knee area and it circulates the blood flow which really helps. I can walk pretty good after the therapy.

Strange that we're all talking about knees etc because yesterday I went to see my Ortho' Consultant for a follow-up appointment (I had knee surgery in 2005 following an incident in work). I am in constant pain with my right knee and take pain-killers every day. Having had physio for eight weeks to strengthen the muscles in my leg, he is now referred me to a rheumatologist as I have raised levels in my blood.

From personal experience I can recommend a holiday to Florida or a Caribbean cruise as the heat works wonders on my knee :thumbsup2

The consultant is talking about going back into my knee in the future with ultimately, a knee replacement.

All ths was caused by an assault on one of our security guards. The court case was dropped because the Police support officer who took the statements was an illegal immigrant from................Texas !!!!!!!

Never mind, it could have been worse :confused3

Hi everyone! It's a dull rainy day here again today. Best wishes to those who need somepixiedust:

Thanks.

I hope people can use them. I'll be happy to make others as well.

Wow they are really neat! Where did your wife find the program?

Well full day today. Took my Jeep into the dealer for a "ball bearing" recall. My co-worker picked me up so I could get to work. So after work off to get the Jeep, get dd from latchkey and get a quick dinner. I have an appointment with a real estate agent to list my dad's house. The housing market really stinks here in SE MI, but maybe I get lucky and it will sell quickly. Then I can wrap up my dad's trust and I won't have to deal with toxic a person any more.

I haven't heard of this particular pad but I have used heat for pain.

On the Magic, before my hip replacement, I would lay on the stone heat chairs in the Rainforest for hours. It was wonderful! :goodvibes I could never figure out how to sneak them off of the ship though. :rotfl:

I forgot it was tyktwd. Not that it matters...we can't bring our kids to work anyway.

I asked our HR Director today if JoJo the DISDog was eligible to come to work as my child?

She said no. :sad2:

Wow they are really neat! Where did your wife find the program?

I found it online. They have a web site where you can download the program. The program is called Kaleidoscope Kreator 2.0 :surfweb:

OK I'm going home. :thumbsup2 I hope to see you later tonight.

I do have to get ready to drive to Charleston, WV for the weekend so we'll see if my DW will let me back online.
