<mental note>Shield this post from DW!!!! :teeth:

GABBIE!!!!!! It is so cool!!! I didn't get to look around much at all because DH was with us :( and we just needed to get the kids Easter baskets but it has an escalator for your cart!!! :thumbsup2

Lucky you. We're past the stress stage. We did decide to cancel our vacation for this year and need to break the news to the kids since they were looking forward to Yellowstone. We're probably going to tell them about the cruise now and let them know we are trying to pay for it. It worked out well last winter b/c they understood why we were cutting back on other things and they agreed the cruise was worth saving money for.

:hippie:

We cancelled our 2007 cruise after booking this one too. :( Well....officially it is still on the books but the deposit will be changed to this balance.

it was apparently the 'spring youth football festival' and the kid was down there with his dad. There's a story on espn.com, including this quote:

“It was kind of scary ’cause I got bonked by the football,” the boy said, hugging his own football. “It kind of hurted.”

:hippie:

Hmmmm....so the kid has no memory of the 200+ pound receiver who pummeled him into the padded wall?

I had to run out to buy a power tool. I seem to have misplaced my drill and I must have a drill to create the bunk bed extension. For those who heard of harbor Freight and Salvage... I tell ya, ya can't beat thier deals. I got an 18 vt. reversible variable drill with an 18 volt accessory hand lamp for just over $21! I had a coupon that knocked off another 15% from the $25 price. That includes a hard case, slow 5 hour charger and some driver bits. What a bargain! This thing costs about the same as just the replacement batteries for a model they might have sold at Lowes or Home Depot.

At any rate, most of the wood is now cut and awaiting the drill battery to charge. SO, tonight I'll probably drill the holes and assemble the thing. Then tomorrow I'll dissassemble portions to take outside and stain. Or, maybe it would be better to stain it before I assemble it? Oh well... gotta go get the kids and take em' to Dennys. Kids' eat free on tuesdays!

TTFN!:thumbsup2

Hi everyone! We just got back from Hilton Head. In hindsight I wish we didn't bother going. It was nice there, but the driving back & forth was very stressful. Especially on the way down when we hit heavy winds in the Carolinas. I did do quite a bit of the driving & actually most of the driving on the way home. Mike did get a chance to golf, we went on a dolphin cruise, we took a trip to Savannah for the day & ate at Paula Deen's restaurant, & otherwise just hung out at the pool. I never did feel really relaxed though & I think it was worrying about Mike's health & knowing we had to drive back home. Traffic was horrendous through Washington last night & through NY & most of CT today. As much as I hate flying....I've decided I hate driving so much more! :sad2:

Anyway...when it rains it pours. I hate to keep sharing nothing but bad news with you all, but I just got word that my mother suffered another heart attack. She has already had two major heart surgeries & she has emphazema which requires her to be on oxygen at all times. She is refusing treatment & has decided that she does not want to fight anymore. She has not been a happy person for a few years now & I think this is the final straw. My sisters are there with her, but the doctors say that if she is refusing breathing and other treatments, that she is not going to make it. It looks like I might be flying out to Orlando first thing tomorrow morning. I have not been close with my mother for some time now due to long standing issues, but I would not feel right if I did not have a chance to say goodbye. :guilty:

Don't know when I'll have time to catch up here, but I hope everyone is well! :grouphug:

So sorry Diane. You have a rough time. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.

Budget????? Budget????? Oh no, now I'm getting all weepy again   If I really think about the price of the Repo I'd BAIL!!

Anyway.....how can we possible budget for the Trip Of A Lifetime right? (At least that's what I keep telling myself)

Remember it is not a requirement that we leave our kids an inheritance:rolleyes1

party: Happy Birthday party:

Thirty more days, no driving, arm strapped to the body, will this never end???:scared1:

Thanks for the offer of the lottery. It just so happens I'm rolling in money. A Friend's (I'm not sure I know them) famliy died in a crash and left me $20 Million Dollars. I could hardly believe my luck because the next day another friend died and left me $30 million, so we're set for life. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

When this first came out I couldn't believe how many well educated professional people that got taken. :scared1:

Tom--your Vegas pics are great!!!:)

Ah, so you just draw pretty pictures all day.....:lmao:

I used to get to color alot.... :rotfl:

In my current job, i just get to critique really crappy surveyor drawings and small subdivisions though.....

Not much fun but I'm the queen...princess:

Just a quick remark...

My quick remark... I went to IKEA to see those before....Really poor construction. I would barely send a 4 yo up on the metal one let alone a pre-teen or teenager.

I had a loft in college. Really sturdy. My Dh and i used to sleep in it when he stayed over. Sure i almost fell out a few times (It was only twin size)

It was made of 2X6's and 2x4's...had cross bracing and solid ladder panels at the end. You could park a truck on top of it.

Well, I think a tornado survival kit would have to include a really, really, strong harness, some chains and maybe a big slab of concrete to anchor yourself into.
:hippie:

Ah here's where that 1000lb moose might come in handy...

That Target is ok...It lacks in alot of the departments because they are smushed in such a small footprint (even with two floors). It's also one of those Target stores that don't get the really good sale markdowns. (ie couldn't get the $49 princess tv's there back when they had that deal a couple years ago.

The Target Greatland store out in Germantown has a much nicer store and better customer service. (not that any Target has CS that's great though)

Well... any Disney Cruise is a bargain as it is guaranteed to deliver PRICELESS experiences and memories... plus we'll all get to traverse this mythical voyage with old friends from the DIS, right?

Now... how on Earth can you assign a price on THAT?!?!? :confused3

Well said Tom:)

Gosh, that is a shame! Our Target CS is great! The manager knows me and a couple other ladies who bargain hunt. Whenever he sees us roaming the store he says hello and thanks us for clearing out the unmarked markdowns. :goodvibes He donated a GC to the school's auction baskets too. :thumbsup2

or even .88 of a 1000 lb moose :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

The news also said something about making sure your tornado supply kit was stocked... What the hell is that?!?!?! I've seen earthquake survival kits when I lived in California but tornado kits?

Well, it should have a picnic lunch, a small dog, some ruby red shoes, oil for the tin man, a fire extinguisher for the scarecrow and some baggies so you can comply with the "curb your lion" laws....:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Hello Everyone!! Happy Tuesday.....

Had dinner outside again tonight...it was glorious.....and we are glad to have gotten all this in before the rain and colder temps forecasted for the next few days.

Hope everyone is well....

I gonna ketchup BRB!

John, so sorry to hear that your wing is clipped for another 30 days. I remember a few years back when I had to be on crutches for 12 weeks. The doc first told me 4-6 weeks on crutches, boy did he lie about that.

Feel better!!! I'll be reading your dad's meter tomorrow morning.

Good Night All............
