Morning everyone:goodvibes

Looks like a beautiful day.Too bad I'll be :surfweb: Finally got a complete AR last night, looks like it is getting really nasty.

Cheryl, not to start a trend but my friend always sends me these as in another life, I was born blonde:rotfl2:

Subject: blondes at work
I urgently needed a few days off work, but I knew the Boss would not allow me to take a leave.
I thought that maybe if I acted "CRAZY" then he would tell me to
take a few days off.
So I hung upside down on the ceiling and made funny noises. My
co-worker who's blonde) asked me what I was doing. I told her that I was
pretending to be a light bulb so that the Boss would think I was "CRAZY"
and give me a few days off.
A few minutes later the Boss came into the office and asked "What are you doing?" I told him I was a light bulb.
He said, "You are clearly stressed out. Go home and recuperate for a
couple of days." I jumped down and walked out of the office.
When my co-worker (the blonde) followed me, the Boss asked her
"...And where do you think you're going?"
(You're gonna love this)

She said,
I'm going home too. I can't work in the dark!

OK I promise no more, and apologize if it offended anyone.Just couldn't resist.
Oh I tried to get a picture of my little DGS shirt the other day, but he was downright uncooperative. The shirt said:
"I want to be a pirate when I grow up".(insert Pirate ship here)... "But Mom and Dad want me to be a Doctor."

Gotta walk the dog.

I kid you not - my kids schools has lockdown procedures for when there is a moose or bear on the playground.

It happens a few times a year.

I got trapped in a building at U of Alaska for about 45 minutes when a moose was eating the shrubs just outside the door.

Ok, there's a joke in there somewhere, but I am too bleary-eyed this morning to come up with it.

I didn't even know there was a UK national lottery, so I am even more surprised that I won.

I need to be in the UK again soon, I think, so I may just wait and pickup my winnings in person. ;)

I actually bought a ticket back in 96. We had delusions of taking the Concorde back to the US with our winnings. :rotfl2: Now I get that spam mail all the time. Actually my spam folder at this moment stand at 4143 and that's about 2 weeks worth.

Well boys and girls - it's that time again...yes, time for the much anticipated weekly CHAT! Just follow this link and join us in room 2! Hope to see you there! http://host50.123flashchat.com/disboards/

Sorry I missed y'all in chat. I was off camping with a group of Boy Scouts. We took some our troop down to Springfield to visit the State Capitol, the Lincoln Museum and Mr. Lincoln's House. (He wasn't at home; we forgot to call ahead).

Good Morning Arlene, I'm trying not to laugh, but I can't help myself...........:lmao: about the t-***** that is............;)

That's what you get for going out the friday after Turkey Day

No, I go out to SEE the fighting. I am usually long done with Christmas shopping by then because we pick things up as we see them through the year. So we go out to the mall and watch all the people running around trying to find 'bargains' while we leisurely stroll to see if anything strikes our fancy.

That sounds like my mom's spam mail total for the same time period................:rotfl:

OK, time to get back to work, see y'all later.................

Hi everybody! Hope y'all forgive me for being away for soo long. I've been over at Boxercrazy.com getting edge-a-micated about the breed.
I have a silly question; Is anybody, besides myself, worried that they won't be able to get this TOAL paid off in time? :scared:

Extremely worried, especially with my tenuous job situation. We're probably cancelling our 14-day driving trip out West because the cost is getting too high (and we don't really want to do the driving).

Yeah, I tried to run him down, and he then took it off for me to snap, but it wasn't the same without the young'n in the s***t.I even tried to bribe him but nope, he wasn't getting back in it:rotfl2:

Hello, Group!

Just joining in this thread.

I am SO looking forward to the repositioning cruise August, 2008. I am so excited that I do not know if I will make it to the day! :)

Welcome! Glad to see another Midwesterner on board. Since you are not too far from Chicago, maybe you can join us at our minnie-meet this summer (if we get around to doing one).

Ooooo, was the SWAT team called? Or the local Moose Mover patrol.

How do you move a moose along, anyway?

How much moose might Minnie Mouse move if Minnie Mouse might move moose?

Welcome home Mary Ann - sorry the weather wasn't more cooperative while you were visiting.

Thanks for the welcome home, Lorri. Can't control the weather, and of course, when we were leaving it was 78, blue skies & sunshine in Central Park:rolleyes:

Nope. Just Mike. Me, myself and I. :)

Thanks for the welcome!

And about 1000 new friends from the DIS boards:goodvibes

M- just wanted to say good luck in your move. I can't imagine the anxiety of planning a move so far away, sight unseen :scared: .

It was such a great day here yesterday. Finally spring..the crocus and daffadil are springing up like crazy and the apple blossom trees are popping open a beautiful cotton candy white all over. Geesh, I sound like a hallmark card, but I can't help it - I love Spring in New England.

I wanted to mention to any NE Disers on our thread that there are a couple of meets going on over on the DIS Meets boards if anyone is interested. Perhaps we could mention it in a summary? After school gets out I am going to put together a Boston meet for Sunday Brunch & Duck Tours. We were looking at mid-September.

Well, my cherubs are arriving so off to work I go. We are walking down to the park to have picnic lunch since my backyard is still trashed from one end to the other. Time to play the "Penny a Pinecone" game :rotfl:

Have a great Monday Everyone

Happy (belated) Birthday, Lisa

And Happy Birthday Kevin

Ok - Apparently I am not just the Kiss of Death for my son's girlfriends but also the kiss of death for anything electronic - just got my first ever Ipod - got 2 new video ipods - one for DD-20 and one for me - hers uploaded fine - she didn't even use directions, DH, DD-14 and I went to dinner - DD-20 charged up MY ipod and when I got home - no charge - after about 8 hrs of trying to charge - I was able to finally hook up to itunes store and guess what?

A brand-new empty ipod that cost me $$$$ - its corrupted - DH yelled at me :sad1: and told me that everything I touch not matter what electronic I managed to corrupt! How sad is that:guilty: Now I have this complex - oh yeah - and the box had no software - had to go to apple.com to download a manual - what's up with that?

Anyway, I can see how this is funny but after a while - I just want to cry - was up until 5 am trying to figure it out - finally threw in the towel and packaged it up - I'm hoping that the store will allow me to return it - only bought it yesterday - not fair - what am I doing wrong? O

Ok - I ranted - thanks for listening!

Hopefully you returned it. Most stores will not have trouble believing it was defective, particularly if all you want is a replacement one, if it has only been a day.

And don't feel bad. My wife, who works for a large, monopolistic software company, was about to chuck her phone out the window yesterday when I got home -- she had been trying to upgrade the software, and couldn't get any computer to recognize it for the upgrade. I plugged it into my laptop and 15 minutes later had it upgraded and registered on the network. I explained that since I work for the phone's manufacturer, of course it worked fine on my work laptop. She gave me "the look".

Good Morning!

Look at me! I'm out of bed.
I'm gonna need to stretch before I attempt anything more strenuous than walking to the coffee pot, but I'm moving.

Was there a "Lincoln slept here" sign on the bed?

My folks are from IL. They got married right out of college, so the first house they rented was half of a really old house that had been turned into a duplex. They referred to the 2nd bedroom as the Lincoln Bedroom, they figured that it was pretty likely that Lincoln had slept there at some point.

Yeah, that's where I get it from.

How much moose might Mickey Moose move if Mickey Moose might move moose?

Can't find Minnie, so I made a few edits to your post.

You're very inspiring to me...

... with this talk of triathalon runnin'....

... I just am so out of it as any sort of athelete (can't even spell it right)

that I can only day-dream of competing like you are!

Maybe someday soon I'll get back into some sort of decent shape and get some decent exercise!

Keep it up!!!!

I LOVE IT Crash! I am so much more of a hack than an athlete, but I'm trying!

I'll ask some friends here who lived or had family in Waldorf. I can't see why you couldn't communte to Alexandria . . . it would just depend WHERE in Alexandria. If you were south it would be a bear of a drive at best.

That would be great. Two people I have talked to said Waldorf to Alexandria would be evil. There is a stretch on the beltway and a bridge I'd have to cross that will be under construction for the next 2-3 years. Since we are only there for 3ish years, it just didn't sound good. Of course I have no idea where or if I would be going in Alexandria. Just about every job I've applied for is either downtown or Alexandria.

Here is something I found interesting:

Annandale, VA (inside beltway, we have many friends who have lived there) population density: 3984 / square mile
Woodbridge, VA: 3,047 / square mile
Waldorf, MD: 1,746 / square mile
Eagle River, AK: 153 / square mile

Ok, that's hilarious. My wife once wrote an editorial for our college newspaper on how things would be different if Walt Disney had made Mickey a moose instead of a mouse. (She couldn't come up with an idea and it was her turn to write an op-ed piece).

Or, another way to think about it:

Annandale, VA: ~0 moose / square mile
Woodbridge, VA: ~0 moose / square mile
Waldorf, MD: ~0 moose / square mile

Look at me! I'm out of bed.
I'm gonna need to stretch before I attempt anything more strenuous than walking to the coffee pot, but I'm moving.

This is my triathalon.

First we start with a bleary eyed stroll to the coffee pot, carefully navigating (a) the clothes on the floor that need to go in the hamper, (b) the yoga ball that is in the middle of the bedroom floor left over from DD playing with it last night, (c) DD's backpack, for some reason in the middle of the hall landing, (d) the stairs, remembering there is a turn in the middle, (e) the kitchen island and the stepstool that is supposed to be under it, but is instead right next to the cabinet where the coffee is kept.

Then, while the coffee is percolating, reverse direction, avoiding again said obstacles, which may now include a small five-year-old who has heard the noise of her father banging his toe into her backpack and has come out to say 'good morning, father' and 'oh, there's my backpack'. After sending said daughter back to her room to get ready for school, head for the bathroom, remembering too late the door is shut and after, bouncing off it, proceed inside, fumble for the shower nozzle, get soaked with cold water because the shower head is pointing at the shower door, curse at spouse, and take shower.

When completed, find clothes you forgotten to set out the night before, tiptoe to dresser to find a pair of socks that match, give up, since no one will see your feet anyway, get dressed, collect DD5 and explain to her she cannot wear a t-shirt and shorts to Christian school, re-dress DD5, pickup her backpack, go back downstairs, find coffeepot, pour coffee onto countertop, then find a cup and pour rest of coffee into cup. Drink.

Wake up.
