So DW was wondering what it is y'all do for a living that you have so much free time to not just OCP Disney trips (not to mention talk about them on the DIS all day long) but also go on multiple WDW/DL/DCL trips in a year? With our friends across the sea (Andrew to name a few) it's easy because our American 2-3 weeks of holiday per year is considered barbaric over there! When we were on a trip to St. Lucia and Jamaica we ran into a Brit family that had been in St. Lucia for 3 weeks and were off to Turks & Caicos for another 3 weeks!

I essentially have 21 days of paid time off. Also, if I have to travel on the weekend for a Monday meeting in France or ATL, I get a comp time. Being single also helps in that I don't have to worry about kids and/or DH taking/getting the time off. With trips to WDW, I'm staying at DVC on points. I have enough FF miles on CO to cover airfare. With this, it's fairly easy to do a couple of trips a year.

I think :laundy: is the perfect form of housework when you really want to be goofing off on DIS. You "work" for about 3 minutes and get a 20-30 minute break!! (Course, that sort of depends on when you plan on folding. )

Folding? What's that? Just dump 'em in the drawers. No one will notice.

Picky eaters...I'm one. That's what's so great about cruising, you get to try things you never would and if you don't like it get something else instead. I tried escargots on our Dec trip and liked them!

I couldn't believe I got my DS13 (HWDNEF -- He Who Does Not Eat Fish) to try escargo on the cruise in December. He loved them and even said 'Dad, you were right'. Wish I'd had a tape recorder.

Yes I like the ones you mention, but they need more, it does need a fix but space is the issue.

A Expedition Everest would do it, to balance the Matterhorn, or a Rock n roll rollercoster.

Right now, they're working on Midway Madness and Lasseter's calling the shots. I have high hopes for this. It should be open by the time our cruise leaves. They're also working on a show for the lagoon, They're going to re-theme the entire park (slowly!) to be more time specific, too. The front section will be CA of the 1920's and 30's (when Walt came here) and the seaside rollercoaster section is going to go Victorian.

We had family movie night tonight instead of last night because last night we have dinner plans. We watch Borat which was very funny in that juvenile way that I so appreciate! Then we watch The Prestige. That one was really good and now that I've seen the end, I have to go back and watch the movie again. I love it when a movie makes me feel like that!!

I saw The Prestige on the way back from the UK and you are right -- I need to rent it and watch it again because now I get so much of what was happening. Excellent movie if anyone has not seen it.

I wonder if alot of people who are going on the Med cruise will be making a stop to DL Paris. That will sure bring up the attendance.

I must admit that out of all the parks AK is my least favorite. I have gone there to go on EE and the safari. Sometimes I skip this park altogether and spend more time at the others.

:thumbsup2 me....me....me....yep planning 3 days at DLP before heading down to Spain for our cruise

I thought DCA was supposed to be really great. I wonder why it isn't drawing the crowds as you said, it is right across from DL.

In my opinion the park isn't that Disney and so doesn't have the draw that other parks have. Plus, it can be done in half a day. There's not anything keeping you there all day. I was honestly surprised to see it as high as it was on the list Andrew posted.

I quite liked the movie. I read the book afterwards, and I feel that the movie actually has a stronger story. Of course, I'll watch anything with Hugh Jackman in it.

What about the ones on the small of the back? Only problem is I don't recall seeing anyone over age 45 with one... Then again, there's got to be some hip 65 year old granny out in Miami with one (and a navel piercing :scared:)

OMG:eek: My best friend sent me a link to a Granny who was tatooed all over and pierced all over. It was some contest and she won. She reminded me of one of the brothel madams. EWWWW

So DW made meatloaf tonight. It was great but I did comment that I would have liked to have a litte more of the sauce. Then she hit me with it (no not literally, but close :duck: ;))...the "sauce" was plain ketchup! I thought it was the red meatloaf sauce but she says that "red sauce" is just ketchup! :sad2:

Not that this is going to settle any sort of argument or anything, I just want to make sure I didn't "invent" red meatloaf sauce in my overactive imagination! So, I want to know what y'all prefer on your meatloaf...plain ketchup, "red sauce" (which I found out varies from ketchup with Worcheteshire and/or soy) or brown gravy?

Plain ordinary ketchup.

Not this stuff:

I just received a call from MR asking if I knew Pete's(darthrugby) last name or cell #, to which my reply was, "No I don't!" I did send Pete a PM and gave him my cell # but forgot to ask him what his last name was incase we need it when we get to OKW tomorrow evening. If anyone knows any of this information can you "PLEASE" send me a PM, thanks so much!!!

Sure wish we had a website with that kind of information :rotfl:

amazing_race.jpg

I think I'll have to DVR this Amazing Race thing next weekend. It sounds interesting. You suppose we could come up with a modified version of "Amazing Race" for a cruise diversion? Then again, having NEVER SEEN an episode... should I be wondering whether we would WANT to do that at all???? :confused3

A Detour is a choice between two tasks, each with its own pros and cons. In this Detour, the choice is "Pig Out" or "Pig In". In "Pig Out" each member of the team must load a tray at Topsider's and successfully carry it out of the buffet to a table outside the restuarant. Poor baby! I hope it's nothing serious.

Reminds of when I was 12 - my father slammed the car door shut on my hand (still have a swollen spot on my hand all these years later) and the next day I went roller skating and ended up breaking every bone in my left wrist. When my mom took me to the ER for the wrist they wanted to do comparison xrays of both hands, so I told them what happened the day before. Less than 15 minutes later the police were there questioning both my mother and me - the hospital assumed it was a child abuse issue:scared1:. TG for my dr's who showed up about an hour later and settled everything.

Wow. I guess I do like the idea of Dr's being cautious, but it sure is a pain for those families in which there is no abuse.

here's my smashed finger story.....few years ago I got out of the car and I guess the wind took the door, not really sure what happened. But my 2 middle fingers ended up shut in the door. I almost tried to yank them out, but realized I should probably just open the door! My finger tips were pretty dented and there was blood everywhere. Got back in the car, drove to my parents house and had my dad drive me to the hospital. After 90 min in the waiting room, finally got seen, then xrayed. Nothing broken but both fingernails were pretty damaged. Lost them both. One grows back normal, the other got damage in the growth bed and grows back all bumpy and flaky. Looks really gross, but I'm stuck with it now.

When we were fresh out of college I felt like dh and I could have wallpapered a room with "We think you're a loser" letters...

Best of Luck today with your practice interview...

We used to post out 'flush' letters outside our dorm rooms. It was pretty funny to walk through and see the same letter from so many different companies.

ITA..If I have a daughter, I just don't know if I can handle when she gets to the age when she starts bringing boys home...:faint: I'm afraid I would just lock her up or something!! :rolleyes1

I looked into having a moat built, but the cost is prohibitive. But I do "have a .45 and a shovel".

Yeah, that's not one you hear often as a parent of an ST or SPT
