Just wanted to drop in and day HI to everyone. Have been trying to keep up but with work and this darn cold I have been fighting it has been doable. Whishing all those with birthdays a happy one and to everyone who is ill or just plain stressed out a fast recovery.

Well got to go take more meds that will knock me out. So I guess it time to nap. Oh I better call the boss and tell him I'm taking part of the day off sick. Lois

Hope you get to feeling better Lois. I was sitting here thing I just may play hookey from work, it is supposed to be another beautiful day here. But I guess I will head in.:)

Without me having to go hunt down the HoJo's topic again, can you guys just tell who I need to talk to and what group name to give them when I call so I can book a couple of nights there. I sure hope they still have room!!

Thanks,

Hello everybody! :surfweb: Bright and sunny outside, for now. Rain is supposed to come later, but that's okay if it washes away the stinky snow!!!

The mascot of the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team, the "Phillie Phanatic" will be at Angelina's Build-a-Bear store this coming Saturday from 3pm-4pm, and Angelina will be working while he is there!!!
:thumbsup2 That is soooo cool! We used to go to Vet Stadium with DD to catch the Phillies and the Braves play. (DH is a GA boy) Her first game there she was about 2 1/2 and fell in love with the Phanatic. Since she couldn't pronounce his name, she just started calling him the "Green Dude". :rotfl:

Hello Everyone and Happy Wednesday!!!
I had my DS home today with 101 temperature.....just want we need this close to vacation ugh! Tomorrow to the Dr. with him!!
pixiedust: MR for your DS, stinky teen or not.;) That's how it started with DD last week. :grouphug: and prayers that he gets better before vacation and that no one else gets  too!

Esteri - pixiedust: for you and your furry baby. I hope they find the cause soon!!!

Mark & Laura: pixiedust: and :grouphug: for your family, especially DD. IKWYM about hating to see your baby suffer and wishing that you could take it away. That is the mark of a fantastic mommy!!!! (and daddy too!) Prayers that the docs evaluate well and can find a permanent fix! :flower3:

Shelley:  glad to hear that you are starting to get better. pixiedust: that it continues for you!!! And :woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo: :cheer2: to Ruby!!!

Thanks,

When you call the HoJos, be sure to ask for direct reservations or they will transfer you to the 800 number. Most have spoken w/Jennifer, who is super sweet.

There is no group name to give them. They offered the discount as part of a pre-cruise stay. Hope it's still available for you!

Happy Birthday Destin!!!

Thanks,

I'm sure you can still book, but they aren't offering the $79.00 rates anymore. I believe the rate is $95.00 per night now.

We can't list the group name that the discount is listed under here.

Sorry to laugh at you Andy, but that is funny. And I really needed a laugh right now. I just found out that a friend had a heart attack today. She's doing ok, but will stay in the hospital at least over night.

Monica:

:grouphug: for you and your friend - hoping she is much better very soon!!!:grouphug:

So, here's the scoop on the veterinary emergency...

I returned form Portland yesterday to our 13 year old dog, Kaiya, who was in quite a bit of distress. She was fine when DH left for his school Board of Trustees meeting at 6:30. When I got home (at 8) she was obviously in pain, and looked like she was bloating (this is potentially a life threatening problem). Fortunately, our sitter was willing to stay. Off to the vet we went. It was, indeed, bloat and her stomach had twisted, but it didn't look like it had flipped completely over (that is the very acute life threatening version). DH and I got to have some really lovely conversations about euthansia and how far we're willing to ask a very old dog to go. I don't wish those conversations on anyone. We decided that we would not ask her to attept a recovery from major abdominal surgery, and that if it could not be solved non-invasively, well, it'd be a sad day at our house. Fortunately, the vet was able to pass a tube down to her stomach and relieve the pressure. It looked like the partial twist has untwisted itself as of last night.

This morning, new xrays showed her stomach filling with gas again. The vet is again concerned about the stomach flipping over. She suggested a laproscopy (spelling?). With two small incisions they could put a camera in and see if the stomach had twisted. If not, they can tack the stomach to the abdominal wall to prevent it from twisting. If so, then it would be major abdominal surgery to go in and untwist the stomach - which we've already determined we won't do. We've OK'd the laproscopy. It'll happen tomorrow - they had to use the equipment today and need time to sterilize it. And of course, we STILL have to figure out why this is happening - we're still in triage now.

The good news is that I went and visited her today. Mostly to give her the chance to tell me if she was done. Quite the opposite, she was bright eyed and bushy tailed, completely herself. So I left with a great deal of hope that we will have excellent success with the laproscopy.

I'll be able to buy a round with the Disney Dollars from this one... :scared1:

On top of this, DH is away at a training class for the rest of the week. Annual reviews are due for my employees at work. The write up for a major award we were thinking about putting in for is due on Friday. (next year is looking really good for that application right now...) AND our school auction (which raises well over $100,000) is on Saturday and I'm the Silent Auction chair!

Uh, I think I'm going to be pretty scarce on the boards between now and Sunday. :sad2: I'll try to check in to give you the results of the surgery since I know you'll not want to be kept in suspense.

:grouphug: for your furbaby!!! - and you:grouphug:

we went through this with our dog - had the surgery(but ours was only 2 at the time)....it is common in deep chested dogs.....ours is half Greyhound and half German Shepard. It is a good thing you caught it when you did!!

Runescape seems to be the rage even for the younger crowd (my DS 9 and DS 7 are into it along with all their friends).

And to think that price was a Cat 11 GTY.....:rotfl:

Did they fix the "postthanks" thing (guess I will find out in a few seconds). Imagine if they lost all of the old messages and had to start from scratch (resetting this 45,000 post thread to 0)..... shudder.....

4 a.m. is for sleeping... say it with me... 4 a.m. is for sleeping....

It's also the CURSE of being an EARLY morning person...........:lmao:

:car: Drive by post on my way to lunch.

Happy Birthday fellow Aries!

Busy day....non-stop meetings. Someone asked about getting a job where all you did was sit in meetings. Do I have an offer for you......

My boss keeps joking about giving me a Blackberry. I keep declining. I may have to rethink this.....
