I am officially old. I just saw a commercial that said "When all hell breaks lose, call us" and I immediately thought I need to write down that phone number to call them and tell them that is not appropriate.
Am I the only one that is so sick of all the "cuss" words that are used on TV there days? We are trying so hard to counteract all the bad words they hear at school and in media but it is getting harder when they hear it so mainstream.
Rant over!![]()
Well, I'm officially "not very" old (42 or is it 43??) . . and I concur 100%. My kids pretty much only watch movies (we love veggie tales) and little else. We did watch Extreme Home Makeovers for awhile. I just don't see anything on TV that would be supportive of the kind of kids we desire our kids to be. Either it is too violent, has many s** connotations, or is just fluff (no thoughts needed . . .LOL). However, we do discuss this topics and it really burns me that even Rush Limbaugh is allowed to cuss occasionally (and the kids point it out, too . ..).
I must say we do watch sports, though. That has been a challenge. Have you tried to sit through a major league baseball or football (not soccer for our overseas friends) game on TV? The beer and drug commercials and even car commericals can be risque . . . On of the parents has to sit though the game (DH loves this) to turn off the commericals so DS13 can enjoy the games.
Okay, down from my soap box . . .I miss the Lone Ranger and the Beverly Hill Billies . . .LOL
