Have you tried it? it may work. I had to get steriod injections in my head before for hair loss. I was afraid I was going bald. The spot got so large my ponytail wouldn't hide it anymore. :sad2: Dr. told me it was probably stress that caused it, but it grew back.:)

Actually, my doctor told me that it would not work. She said that lots of patients think that it might help the hair on their heads. But she said that is radically different from the hair in our lashes and the meds don't work on heads.

At the cost of the meds, that would be pretty expensive anyway! :)

You could work on that promotion to Cardinal and just wear the little hat all the time.
:)

I had Lasik a couple of years ago and and had not had my eyes checked since then. I decided it was about time so oldest DD and I went for exams yesterday.
Contrary to my original belief, I do have 20/20 close and far, do not have dry eye and my pressure readings were good. Glaucoma runs RAMPANT in my family. I do not know anyone over 70 that does not have it (except my Mom) in my entire family for at least 3 generations. I have a couple of Aunts blind from it. My sister who is 46 (I am 42) already has to take the drops.
Needless to say, the Optometrist said to have the pressure checked every year.

You sound quite lucky! Yes, make sure that you check it every year, especially given your family history. It is really sad that so many people could be helped just with a drop or two each day and yet they do not know or do not check until damage has already affected their vision.

My optic nerves have already sustained damage, though the vision is still unaffected. So my doctor watches me very closely -- every three months. Thank God for insurance!

BTW, you were talking about DIY, I bought transwer sheets at WalMart so you can print off any photo/image in color and transfer it to any t-shirt you buy. It's not hard and not too pricey!

This is what I may try. :)

New baggage restrictions - too difficult to pack the hat.

You're still not thinking big enough. If I'm Pope, I'll be flying on Papa One, so I can take whatever bags I want.

As a matter of fact, I can take whatever passengers I want -- you want a ride? :rotfl2:

OF COURSE we're getting shirts!! Just not black or white. Like anyone else doing DIY with the printer - I'll create my own and deliver them to the printer for printing. So, I'll have the same high quality image as everyone else getting shirts, just on something a little different.

That's what the DIY option is all about. Professional quality image, different sort of shirt.
.

Okay, I see.....So I will know who you are immediately when I see the tye dye pirates ;) pirate:

Crash, not everyone on the Dis thread will put up a FE . . . so you need to use the roster of the cruise (some one will be putting that together eventually, right?) to pass out the dry erase boards. For example, Andrew never puts one up, but he needs to have the dry erase board so that I can put goading remarks occasionally on his door . . .

Julie, I'm putting together a spread sheet of cruisers. I started with the pirates on the pirate zone. I'm also going to get names from that other sub-thread on pirate zone. I think it's called Pirates Introduce Thyself. Once it's done I'm going to email it to Crash. I know that there are more pirates receiving the news letter than have identified themselves on any of the boards. I guess we'll have to figure out what to do after we see how many names I collect. This is all new to me. I guess I'm struggling with alienation vs intrusiveness.

I just wanted to share with everyone how completely cool, and astonishing, and gratifying this community is. There's no one "in charge",
yet everyone contributes what they can and no one feels compelled to do more than they are able. (At least I hope not.) We are each doing what we do best, and relying on others, with different strengths, to cover the rest.

Step back and look at what we've accomplished... website, topical forums, group clothing, group cruise navigators, activity books for the kids, special little surprises for each other, shared artwork, large and small group dining, loads of information on each port, shared excursions and experiences, more onboard activities than any one person could attend, and the list goes on, and on.

This is a huge undertaking and accomplishement for a group this size, and yet it has come together naturally. Growing and changing depending on the people involved.

We are such a testament to what a group of people can accomplish when they come together in a spirit of mutual understanding, support, tolerance, and yes humor plays a role. Yes, we've had our squabbles, but we've worked through them - gaining understanding and enriching ourselves through the experience.

I am so completely grateful to be a part of this community. And to have this experience with all of you.

Many thanks. :grouphug:

Bishop would work too! ;)

That reminds me of last Monday at Confirmation. (I was sponsoring a boy who used to live in our neighborhood). Anyway, all of the candidates were waiting to line up and one of our priests asked if they were nervous. A couple of them answered "yes", and he said "Well, don't be nervous about meeting the Bishop...he's just another priest in a pointy hat." :goodvibes

Oh my!!! My family has been in Roswell for 3 generations although most have now moved away. I never heard one word about no stinkin' spacecraft my whole life until I went to college. Then I found out our ranch was supposedly the landing site. I could not wait to ask my Grandparents what they know about it. I was all ready for "Well Coral, remember that part of the barn we never let you go to. Well, that's where we hid the aliens" . Nope I got nothing!
I have stated this before but here is my take on the whole "Roswell Incident".
My Mom said that her Aunts hired hands kept telling her they saw something in the sky 2 nights before this. It really scared them, although I do not think she saw anything.
The night of whatever crashed it was lightning and storming. To ranchers in NM (think dry desert) lightning means possible fires so my Grandfather was watching very carefully. He did not see anything. Also since I know the land so well I know the Army caravan would have had to go 10 miles down a dirt road and right by the front of our house. There is NO WAY it would go unnoticed. Also the "spot" is a few miles from the nearest road. Very rough hilly terrain. So all that lends itself to think nothing happened.
On the other hand..... if it was on the 2nd site we would not have seen anything. It's about 10 miles away. Also some people I knew my whole life and trusted had a direct role in the whole capture thing so back to who knows!
I do know Roswell has certainly made the most of it.:rotfl2:

Which crash site is on your ranch? We know of Jim Ragsdale, and Corona... ? Do you dress up your stumps too? Ours are more casual where we live :lmao:

We were saying how surprised we were that Roswell doesn't capitalize on it more, in fact! It's really just the area around the museum.

Hey Christopher - I was just thinking about you. From what I can tell, you're not near the tornado area, but is everything ok? Family all ok?

Thanks Monica! The tornadoes hit about 40 miles north of where we live. We didn't even get any rain - the kids still had their outdoor field day at school and we had baseball games last night.

Having lived around Kansas City most of my life, I'm used to tornado warnings, but that doesn't make them any easier. Too many nights huddled in our basement. I was told my many out here that a tornado touchdown is extremely rare so close to the mountains. Because of that, everyone was freaking out around here (the ones up North rightfully so!).

Oh yes, you're right about that!

Can I bum a lift, too?

The story of my life!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

OK, I'm just glad that someone is doing a roster. . . I just know that at least half, or more, won't put up an FE but that doesn't mean they don't exist, or don't deserve the dry erase board!

Hmmmm . . . all this talk about traveling on Papa One has me thinking. What do you think? Is it me?
