DCL refused to talk to me, told me I must go through TA. Then a quite rude supervisor got somewhat nasty with me (guess I shouldn't have told him to stop with the corporate lies when he tried to tell me they didn't expect this).

So in all honesty, do you think things will open up in the future? I made a mistake on one of my excursions and now it is booked up. What are the chances of someone cancelling and being able to still grab it in the future?

I think I am just wishful thinking at this point.....

I think things will open up. I bet some people booked 'just in case' excursions knowing that things would sell out fast. I know I did in Cartagena.

Is there a similar addy for Palo?

Brunch for me is showing for tables of 3-4 only. 1-2 is not available...

The only time I get is Sat Aug 30 at 10:30 which happens to be the day and time of our own ressie. Everything else is full. This makes me think that the brunches are, indeed gone, and the only reason I can see anything is to allow me to manage my own ressie.

This would make sense, and explain why folks with ressies can see "availability" what they are seeing is their own ressie - in case they want to cancel.


In other news.... I noted to DH last night that the west coasters seemed to be having good luck and the east coast was toast. He commented that most people don't know there are really two internets. AT&T has a network, and Sprint has a network. The number of pipes between the two is limited. And, guess what, AT&T is primiarily in the west, and Sprint is primarily in the east. So, if the DCL servers are in LA (which would make sense) then the west coasters would be on the same internet backbone, while the east coasters wouldn't. This may explain some (though not all) of the problem last night.

Hey folks - I set up this thread on the pirate zone. I'm going to keep a list of who is doing what in each port. That way if you want to see who will be joining you, it will be readily available.

I know everyone is posting here, but it will get lost. So please head over there and post so it will be in one thread. And I'll create a master list from that.

Me too. DH had brunch up and almost confirmed on my birthday and then it crashed and kicked me out for a half hour. I got a great dinner time, and am sure I will switch it once we know the nightly schedule though. I will just get the brunch day and time I want on the ship.....

Not that I know of but will pm you the email for an individual thay may be able to help or at least direct your email to the correct person. She is the person that is in charge of group bookings for Palo or special functions onboard

I hope everyone manages to get what the want in the next few days..keep checking..people grabbed stuff last night and may cancel in the next few days..thats what happened after the 105 day mark. Booking for my Mom last night..we errored out and got completely locked out of our ressie..managed to get into hers and managed to get her excursions.

I am sorry for those that didn't get what they wanted. Congrats to those who did.

Off to DD rehersal...everyone take a nap so I dont have 20 pages to ketchup when I get back!

Morning all....

After finding out we weren't "paid in full" and being completely locked out of the system for an hour and a half, It was getting very frustrating especially watching the chatroom and seeing others getting in succesfully and booking the cliff divers tour.

All of sudden, DCL's website popped up and worked "normally" with very little of Mickey swimming.

We ended up getting all of the excursions we wanted:

Cabo -- Boat ride to Land's End
Aculpulco -- City Tour with Cliff Divers
Cartagena -- Best of Cartagena
Aruba -- DePalm Island Water Park

We were previously confirmed on the noon zipline at PV.

We also booked a night at Palo for my DW's birthday. Fortunately, we didn't really want to do the Palo brunch as we've done it on the last two cruises and thought we'd take a break this year. As it appears brunches were booked, will there be a mad dash on August 17th to signup on board?

I tried to get my DW to book a parasailing at Castaway Cay, but she wouldn't do it as she's terrified of heights like that. Oh well.

Hope everyone else got what they wanted or ends up getting it later!

Reminds me of our first cruise in 2002. I sent Darren to wait on the Palo line while I waited on the Spa line. We used walkie talkies to keep in touch. I'm sure we'll see you on the Palo line this time

Oh I think it will take a few months but we will all have such a great time despite The hassle free.

So basically, because I have dinner booked, I can see dinners. No brunch or tea booked, therefore can't see them?

Is anyone in that can give a list of available brunch times?

I just went into Palo and there is nothing available...so did Arlene.

Since I am doing Laura'ss excursions I thought I would add her name to Acapulco City Diver because it is not grayed out. When I tried to book.......it would not let me add her names. It was sold out!! She did not ask for one but thought what the heck...she can always cancel it.

This means the gray or filled excursions does not show up til you try for it!!!

I have a feeling that people might have to delete the cookies in the computer and that is why there are so many variations of who show Palo's is available.!!

Yeah! Should be a blast. Yesterday I started totaling up the cost of excursions. Yikes!

Since we're swapping stories, here's how it went for me.

Was logged in to DCL, but not in my reservation yet. Had all the data filled out, just didn't hit Submit. Once everyone started bailing in chat and the magic hour hit, I clicked the button. Got right in.

Went to book Palo. I don't remember whether I choose dinner or brunch at that time. But when I looked at who I could book a table for, I saw that what I had heard was true. Since I'm linked with Chris (GrandmaX3) I could book for all of us. I knew that Chris was trying for a dolphin excursion for her grandson, so I canceled out of the ressie. I didn't want her to miss out on booking that. I was only trying for Palo and Stingrays at CC for myself. And I wouldn't be heartbroken if I didn't get it.

So I'm watching chat and all the frustration. Then Chris calls me about 9:20 PST, she's getting hung up on DCL and can't get in. I logged back into the ressie and it's a little slow, but I get in. Went straight to Shore Excursions and got Matt booked for the dolphins. Since it seemed to be fairly painless for me, I continued booking for us. Chris had a few other excursions she wanted for her family, in particular a back up for Cartagena. Got us all booked on the Walking Tour. Tried to book something in PV for Chris, but it conflicted with the dolpins. It was just a back up tour, so no worries.

Now on to Palo. This is where I started hitting glitches. Got dinner booked for the night Chris wanted and added my name just in case. I'm really trying for the private room for the solo travelers, but if that falls through and I can join Chris and family. Next up tried to book brunch, had a time and everything, but when I submitted on the confirmation page, I got booted out. Was able to get back in the ressie with no problem though. Tried for Palo again, this time brunch was all gone, but there were tea slots open. So I booked at a table for 4. I'm the only one out of the group doing tea, but decided to book a table for 4 just to have it and we can use it as one of the tables for the wench tea.

With all of Chris's wishes taken care of, I went back to Shore Excursions to see if any Stingray times were left. This is one thing DS asked for. These times slots were wide open. I went with 12pm so that we would have time to get the group pirate picture done. I may move this to 11am because I think we'll be out of costume by then. Still contemplating.

Tried to book a Cabana Massage. Even though it didn't show sold out on the main page, once I clicked on it I got an error saying there was nothing available. I'm doing a massage in PV so this is no big deal. I really shouldn't spend the extra money anyway and my CC day is going to be so full. Really just wanted to have a time slot just in case.

Checked back on brunch a few times. All of the sudden it shows open. I clicked the button, swithced back to Chat to let others know it opened up. Switched back to DCL, selected a table and time, clicked Submit and got booted out of the ressie again. Seemed every time I thought I was getting a brunch, I got the boot. Looked back in chat and a few were able to get it.....someone owes me a brunch!!! Just kidding. All of my Palo dinning times were going to be with groups. If that falls through, I'll be ok. There's plenty of food on board the ship, I won't starve if I don't get to Palo.

All in all, the site was slow, but not impossible. I really expected more problems, but it wasn't too bad for me.

Finally got everything (except brunch) booked by 2 AM. Got the someone else in your reservation after 15 minutes. So got out and then I couldn't get back in. It said I was logged out and wouldn't let me log in or get to the DCL site. But when I finally got in it said I was already logged in even after I cleared my cookies and closed IE. So frustrating.

We have an excursion at each port and dinner at Palo on Panama Canal night.

That would not be a bad idea today but have to go to my Candcer Survior Celebrations Planning Committee. So far I set up all the lunch and who is catering it, I set up getting all the trinkets from Oriental Trading Company, I set up Free drinks from Pesi to be donated and I also got all the Table cloths and cups etc.donated. I also got Ty to donate bears foreveryone. So why is there 12 people on my committee if I have done all the work. This is for 200 people.

Sorry for ranting!!! I just get braced for annoyance everytime we have a meeting.
