So you mean he will have to bring a suit too????????????:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 I just thought a tux is good enough for semi formal night. I don't have room for all his clothes too!!!:faint: :faint: :faint:

If I can get Kev into a tux,I'll let him leave his suit at home! I bought him a Mickey Mouse necktie, vest and bow tie. I was thinking maybe he could wear the necktie on semi formal, the tie and cumberbund that comes with it on 1 formal and Mickey vest and bowtie on the other. Just have to bring a regular dress shirt for semi formal.

More than a couple if you can find a two for one deal :lmao: On the 11 night Southern cruise we looked for every 2 for 1 deal. Skipped dinner one night just to get the 2 for 1 martinis in the Cadillac Lounge ::yes:: ::yes::

.....and then staggered to the Rainforest Room :lmao: :lmao:

QUESTION????

What are the men wearing for semi-formal night????? :confused3 :confused3 On our 10 Wonder Cruise.......everyone was dressed just like formal night!!!:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

DH wearing a suit

I guess they put in buffer days so they don't have to add if we have snow days. My thought was - if that's the case, then they could have decided to shorten the year in mid-March when we aren't likely to have any more snow days, right? I guess not. They are closing early to save money. What they are really doing is passing those costs on to parents and the county. Our county-run after school program, held at the school, is going to be open those days. It took them 3 days to decide that.

Ahh, the buffer days...we have 5 worked into the schedule. It is understood that if they are not used they are knocked off the end of the year. No special meetings, just the way it is

Well that didnt work .. let me tweek it again..

OMG the last cruise I swelled up so much, I couldnt wear my shoes...I never had salmon before and I fell in love with it. At night time I laid sideways on the bed with my feet on the bathroom wall to decrease the edema... of course the next morning.. lox and bagels for breakfest..:confused3

My downfall...BACON. I have too much bacon when I'm cruising. I have it on a croissant. That would be fat on top of fat :scared1: :scared1:

As long as he carries his own suitcase with my stuff in it as well.. my Dh is welcome to all the clothes he wants..lol:lmao:

I bought those space bags today that you roll instead of vacumn. you think our room steward would get us a vacumn the night before we leave..lol...I can see it now..I vacumn the bags at home and on the ship I have no room for anything...since my bag wont collapse

I'm planning on getting some of these also. I want to ship our costumes,my formals and FE gifts ahead, but we'll need room in the suitcases to get them back home.

"Tubular Bells?" EXCELLENT!

Actually, you do not have to believe this if you do not want, but I'm tellin' the truth -- on my old phone, that was the distinctive ring tone that I had set for the bishop! ::yes::

:lmao: Lovin it!!!

I saw that too. 600+ calories per drink.

Ahhh one spinning class will more than take care of that....

My Dh and Ds will be wearing a tux... Got them at JC Penny for $120. Cheaper than rentals for all these cruises..

Last cruise i took dh to try on the JCP tuxes... We thought they looked well uh ....cheap. Ended up at Target one day and found a really nice black suit (the pants even have a darker strip on them like tux pants would). The black suit had the same look yet was only half the cost. We did get him a tux shirt with bow tie to wear on formal night.

Looking at pics he doesn't look any different them he would have with "a tux".

What are the men wearing for semi-formal night?????

For semi-formal night, He will probably wear his blue dress jacket and matching dockers(if i wear my off white dress)

Sk8, sk8, sk8 (me shaking head) you haven't lived here very long.....

They are many other reasons the schools close around here.... When DD was in 5th grade...we had 2 or 3 days off the first two weeks of schools because bad hurricanish storms (ok one was a hurricane) had knocked out the power to our neighborhood for days....

Then that same year was that freakish Presidents day snow storm (there went another 5 days off) Before we knew it they had to add days to the school year....

SO that kinda explains why they don't just change end of year until the very end of May.

,but we'll need room in the suitcases to get them back home.

It's not the room that you have to worry about...The bags don't reduce the weight of the clothes...

The time we tried those bags...i ended up going over-weight for one of our checked bags. (had to re-distribute on the spot or pay more $$$)

That's what I said! We push the weight limit on both suitcases anyway! :lmao: Coming back from our honeymoon (1mo in Australia and New Zealand) we stayed at Disneyland for a few days and caught a Southwest flight. One bag was 75lbs without the space bags :scared1: :scared1:

OK I'm annoyed... Why everytime I hit a smile does it automatically go to the top of the message?

Blue blazer, kakhi's, button down.

Andy

That is probably what dh will wear -- he wears kakhi's & a button down for dinner every evening on the ship.

So you mean he will have to bring a suit too????????????:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 I just thought a tux is good enough for semi formal night. I don't have room for all his clothes too!!!:faint: :faint: :faint:

LOL! Relax!

"Tubular Bells?" EXCELLENT!

Actually, you do not have to believe this if you do not want, but I'm tellin' the truth -- on my old phone, that was the distinctive ring tone that I had set for the bishop! ::yes::

Now I have a different ring tone set for him: "So let's leave it alone. Cause we can't see eye to eye. There ain't no good guy, there ain't no bad guy. There's only you and me and we just disagree."

OK, I really like you!!! You are much more fun then our priest! :rotfl:

What a lovely family you have Stephanie! Thank you for sharing your photos.

Thank you! I figure if y'all see enough pics of us we'll be easy to spot. :lmao:

I bought mine on Ebay for less than $20.00

Greatlooking tiara, Deb! DH told me that he would be happy to drive me to Sam Moons to buy our tiaras -- and probably some cool junky jewelry!

My downfall...BACON. I have too much bacon when I'm cruising. I have it on a croissant. That would be fat on top of fat :scared1: :scared1:

I LOVE bacon! Bacon & sour cream make everything taste better!!! ::yes::

Go into your signature edit list and be sure that everything is symmetrical, for instance if you start out something
at the end; the same goes with color, size, etc., etc. You can preview the signature to see what it will look like on the boards (at the bottom, hit preview). If all else fails, delete what isn't working and start over, highlighting what you wanted in different colors, centered, etc., and then check that the code is symmetrical and look at it in preview. Good luck!

I am glad it was you telling her!!!:thumbsup2 The funny part is that I understood all of it!!

Both my DH and DS own tuxes and will wear them on the formal nights.... DS usually only stays in it for dinner and an obligatory picture (that I usually have to threaten him for).

But semiformal night??????:confused3

As long as he carries his own suitcase with my stuff in it as well.. my Dh is welcome to all the clothes he wants..lol:lmao:

I bought those space bags today that you roll instead of vacumn. you think our room steward would get us a vacumn the night before we leave..lol...I can see it now..I vacumn the bags at home and on the ship I have no room for anything...since my bag wont collapse

It is not so much as the space because we are grandfathered in for 2 suitcases each and two carryons but A suit weighs a lot plus a tux!!!:headache:

I managed to finally get into my ressie on the DCL site..and cancel my massage! I have the rainforest booked and a mani/pedi for the VR so I figured that was enough money to spend at the spa.

Okay what is the rainforest room??? I may need to do this??:confused3

Rob and I reached that mark this year. We met and started dating in Jan 1988, so this past Jan, we celebrated 20 years together. We will both turn 40 this year, so we have officially been together more than half our lives.

In June, we will celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary!

I have know dear John three / fourths of my life!!!:scared1:

My father-in-law and I will both have Tuxes (one jacket, one black).

Andy

But what about semi formal night???:confused3

Cheryl, we're renting tuxes for the guys. What about a nice sport coat and dress slacks that could double for Palo? Or he could just wear his tux again - I'm sure that there will be others doing this.

Yes Lori ....I am leaning to him just wearing his tux with a dress shirt and tie!!

Right

Thought about that...Also thought about "15 days and YES the Rum is all gone", but then figured Capt Jack is ALWAYS looking for rum and thats why I did the current one ...IDK ...sounded right at the moment
pirate:

Okay now you have me really jealous!!!:(

If I can get Kev into a tux,I'll let him leave his suit at home! I bought him a Mickey Mouse necktie, vest and bow tie. I was thinking maybe he could wear the necktie on semi formal, the tie and cumberbund that comes with it on 1 formal and Mickey vest and bowtie on the other. Just have to bring a regular dress shirt for semi formal.

That is what I am going to do. He might as well get his money's worth out of his tux!!! I keep looking for the Mickey vest cheap but have not found any. The tux was enough to buy!!. I have two different cumberbunds....one in black and one in gray!!:thumbsup2

It's not the room that you have to worry about...The bags don't reduce the weight of the clothes...

The time we tried those bags...i ended up going over-weight for one of our checked bags. (had to re-distribute on the spot or pay more $$$)

Yes and another suit for John weighs a lot more than a formal!!;)

Peter (darthrugby) & Jack (fincantieri) are definitely wearing tuxes on formal nights.

Johnna

What is Pete and Jack going to wear for semi formal night. That was the debate of whether to bring another suit. I am voting no!!! He will just have to suck it up wearing a tux three times!!!::yes:: ::yes::

Our Palo dinner is that night too................I may try to change ours to one of the formal nights. We are just not formal people. DH will only wear his suit to formal night and DS will wear his tie but thats about as formal as they get. The other formal we will probably just skip.

Us as well.... My DH is not a normal - I mean formal person either. Less to pack I supose.

Penny

Welcome! Don't let this crazy thread intimidate you:thumbsup2 It is pretty much impossible to always keep up - just read what you can and post when you can.

If you decide to link dining with this group, they can try to get you changed to early. I think they will also try to get you seated with another family if that is what you would like. I've never been with this large a group before, but I suspect that with so MANY tables of DISers that we are all going to be visiting with the tables all around us as well as those we are seated with!:rotfl2:

I have a DS9 who is (sort of) emailing with a few other kids. I think all the kids have been pretty busy the last couple months (including mine) so there haven't been many letters, but I am hoping with the end of the school year that there will be more time and they can do a little more. I suggested to my son that he doesn't have to write a separate note to each child - the "To" field on that email can have more than one address ::yes:: If you think that your son would like to email, please send a PM and we can exchange email addresses (I have his email setup that he can only receive from email addresses that I OK)

Pamela
Thanks! My son would like to try to get in touch. I will pm you soon. Can you tell me... how I go about getting to the dining link? Do I have to e-mail the webmaster of the pirate zone? I am not sure how to do this.

See..there is my problem..I have only been to CC once out of 2 cruises and even that one had issues. The first attempt..Hurricane and no CC! (our cruise changed ports and everything - some honeymoon!) and the 2nd attempt..pouring pouring pouring rain! We did snorkel a little but in the end..everyone went back on board...no BBQ or anything open that day!

We were at CC on August 29 last year and it was beautiful. Couldn't have asked for a nicer day. Water temp was awesome. Hoping for a beautiful repeat day again this time around.
