We actually have done that when we take our one week/ten day trips to out islands. But then, I don't need to take nice undies and things for formal nights. Can't quite do it on the ship.

One year in Bonaire, we'd tossed out old t-shirts and as we were loading the car to leave, we saw the maids going through the t-shirts and trading with eachother. Kinda funny but kinda sad at the same time.

So someone somewhere in Bonaire is wearing a t-shirt from a casino saying "I'M A WINNER!!" :rotfl:

Stacy - I agree, I cannot do throwaway undies for this whole trip! I might compromise with 7 days of the older stuff and the rest good stuff I get to keep. I'm considering bringing a couple older nightgowns (not what I would wear to PJ Breakfast) that I could throw away... I've also agreed to do 1 (ONE) load of laundry of underwear, socks, pajamas so we don't need quite as many in the first place. Since DH is so concerned about space, I am trying to get him to agree to do 1 load of laundry of shorts and shirts. Neither of us wants to spend much of our trip doing laundry, but 1 load each shouldn't kill us.

I wear my swimsuit cover-ups as nightdowns so that they serve double duty. They all look like a tank type dress. Could maybe even pass a few of them off as tropical dresses....:rotfl:
Anything to cut down on packing and try to avoid laundry.

I've actually enjoyed doing laundry on the ship. IT was a chance to grab another book and just relax while everything washed and dried. It's a great thing to do in the middle of the night.

I was surprised on our trip to Orlando a few weeks ago when they not only WEIGHED my huge bag, but also MEASURED it. I was almost over weight going and coming home. Fortunately I could take out something that weighed about 1 lb and that solved the challenge. I'm not sure what we're going to do for this long trip.

My SIL always SHIPS boxes with all their stuff whenever they travel somewhere that isn't camping. I think it comes from my DBr flying a small plane everywhere . . .LOL I wonder that we couldn't ship a few things to the hotel BEFORE the cruise and then ship them back afterward. It's gotta be cheaper than the $75 AirTran would have charged me!

Hi,

I tried to book Dolphins Swim direct both in PV and Cabo and they respoded that Disney booked the entire day so I have to book thru DCL!!! Big price difference - in PV for the Dolphin Kids - direct = $54 - w/DCL $105!!!

BTW - I sent an email to the PV Zip tour folks - I'm hoping they stil have some openings!!

Excursions -I only need to book a Dophin Kids in Cabo & Cartegena City tour (as back up if Mr. Emerald doesn't come thru).
With Palo - as has been mentioned - it's difficult when we don't know specific dates for formal & semi-formal.

Leaving soon to go to a press preview of the new Indiana Jones film.

Dh said we are exempt from the 2 bag limit 'cause we booked air fare early.. I am not sure but he seems positive.. sure hope he is right.popcorn::

We will probably ship a box to the HoJo before the trip - we've done this before for other cruises. It is usually only DH's wine (just a couple bottles) but I am considering sending the Fish Extender gifts also. Since we are flying home immediately after the cruise, I can't see anyway to ship a box at that end. If I could, I'd be tempted to box up the pirate costumes - but if I need to get them in the luggage on the way home, they better be in the luggage on the way there!

On our last cruise, we didn't wear everything we had brought. As we were packing up the last night, we agreed that if we could just pack the same amount it would be just right for a 15 night cruise! I'm just not sure we can manage to do that!

Hi,
For all the Wench's signed up for the private diining room Brunch - perhaps we should all book brunch on the 23rd - then if our request is denied - we would still all be brunching together????????????
Just a thought - I had no problems for the Aug. Med Repo but I understand that the room has been requested for all sea days.

As long as you are not on Delta, you should be alright. All airlines except Delta are giving a pass if you booked before thier announcement. Delta is applying the extra bag fee to everyone, regardless of booking.

I'm limited to two large suitcases, because that's all I can carry by myself! When the whole family goes, I can spread out my stuff and all the snorkel gear and toiletries among 8 bags if I need to.
This is going to be a whole different story. :sad2:

Rum & Rum

That's what I'm using...ummmm...drinking

does anyone know when formal night is, semi formal night, piratenight, etc
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Quick! Someone cut and paste the oh-so-helpful form letter we all keep getting from DCL.

They probably figure they will learn from any mistakes on the WB:confused3

You mean the practice repositioning cruise?

Why is Acapulco one of the fastest DCL excursions to go? I would have thought it would have been Cartagena?

Cliff divers.

I prefer to relax at home and have fun on vacation:thumbsup2

Relax?? What is this relax you speak of???

I've heard wonderful things about the 4 hands massage at the Krystal. Pretty sure that's what I'll be doing the afternoon in PV.

FOUR hands??? :scared1:

BINGO

The picture reminds me....Megan has "outlawed" the Chicken Dance at her wedding. She even warned the DJ to not accept any bribes from me.......ahhhh....but I am so much older and more clever than she is!!!;) ;)

I had a DJ tell me that no one would have fun at my reception because I outlawed the chicken dance, hokie pokie, and any other dance from elementary school.

Presumably that was scheduled downtime during which time they installed new servers, routers and T3 lines to dramaticaly increase the performance of the site tonight in preparation for the flood of people seeking out "hassle free" bookings? :rolleyes1

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Yeah, like Dis fixed chat a few months ago.

  • Jump $2 each,
  • Union jack speedios $4 each,
  • Union jack thong, $10 each. (Change of venue:- Adults quite cove pool)

How much to add the big fuzzy hat?

I could get one on the roof of my new Mini!! But I'm not. Getting a sunroof instead.

OH fun! What color you gettin'?

Hi Everyone!

We survived the big plant sale (I"ll post a few pics later) and I am trying to ketchup here. I'm nearly up to today - just keep the posts down a little longer and I'll get there!

I just had to reply to the quote above - DH always does this! He deliberately brings his older underwear, socks - maybe not so old it is gross, but certainly past its prime and likely to be thrown out soon anyway - and then throws it out each day as we cruise. I always wonder what the room stewards think of the crazy American guy :rotfl2: He is trying to convince me that DS9 and I should do the same this for this trip - he thinks if we all throw out our underwear and socks it will make enough room for the stuff we buy!

Pamela

WOW! Your DH throws away underwear?? I'm impressed.

I'm in for the $2, but would consider upgrading to the union jack if you would rate yourself as an Austin Powers type or a Prince William type . . .ummm

Can we remove the children from the pool just in case??

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I question that info.....

Ya think?

No, I was PIF before the fictional $5 increase in port fees

Yeah, they suckered me with that one as well.

I guess nekkid isn't an option since you're sharing a room with the other moms.

ATTENTION SWABBIES: Despite what you may think, us wenches don't spend sleepovers having pillow fights in our underwear. Sorry to burst your bubble.

What's up with tea??
Do we book tea on our own and then link everything together later?
I'm only going to tea if we have Wenches Tea. DH isn't interested and I could take it or leave it, but it would be fun to go with a group.

Yes, yes, and yes. Or a quick taxi ride, for lazy people like me.
I would prob take a taxi too...by a short walk I mean like 5 min!:lmao:

11:00 to 2:00 and 12:00 to 3:00 :thumbsup2

You are AWESOME!

Pirate Brunch at PaloHi Pirates!

It looks like the overwhelming choice for the Pirates Brunch is Sunday the 24th. That date received 70% of the vote on the planning board.

The plan is that all who would like to brunch together will attempt to book this date for their Palo Brunch. Once we are on board ship, we will ask at Palo if they can seat us all near each other (or if some of us want to, we can ask to share tables).

I believe there are 3 times that that one can select for brunch (like 10AM, 10:30AM and 11:AM or maybe 10:30, 11:00 and 11:30). My suggestion is that we TRY to book the middle time, but if we can't get it we then go for the earlier time and lastly the later time. If we don't all end up at exactly the same time, we should still overlap since brunch usually takes quite a while!

We didn't really have a good concensus for "2nd place" for a date for this event. (The other dates only had 1 or 2 votes). Does anyone think we need a backup date? Are we likely to have trouble getting the 24th?

Pamela

MMMMmmmm!!! M.... yes, you...I'm yelling FOR you not at you. PLEASE keep me off the main boards!!!
If you all never see me again, you'll know I was tossed from the DIS.
:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

This is the one we're ordering...Wednesday night I think. It will arrive sometime in July. It's the new Clubman. Just a bit bigger than the Mini. Which will help, since I'm going from a YukonXL to this.

Ok..home from errands and have a bit before going to a Thank You dinner for teaching this year..but I will be home in time for booking!

I have no way to ketchup..to much today..so I will just hope if anything is imporatant..I will find it.

I will check how the brunch currently looks for the 24th.
