Hello everyone getting close now so figured we better catch up fast so will be reading the board more regularly now.

Tom and Diana

Ok..I have played ketchup! You all were chatty while I was gone for a few hours...I am the cookie manager for our neighborhood (which means that I do all the paperwork and cookie scheduling for 30 troops in our area) and tonight was our wrap up meeting..while I was there..I found out that DD was indeed the top seller this year out of the 6000 girls in our Council who sold cookies! We are keeping it a secret from her until the cookie party that the Council gives to celebrate all the girls who sold over 500 boxes. They will announce it then and give her the prize..she won a Wii.

As for lanyards....we are currently at 86 lanyards! :woohoo: I like the wording "DCL Magic"..

Woohoo congrats to DD! :cool1:

Laurie...

This photo was taken TWENTY TWO or THREE YEARS AGO. Yeah... that's only 8,030 to 8,395 days ago not adjusting for leap years. Hard to imagine that what seems like a huge lifetime of experiences with my sweetheart only amounts to 8000-8400 days together since this photo was snapped. 8000 seems like entirely too small a number for such a huge slice of life, eh?

And yeah... we were young kids there, eh?

Gee... I just look at that picture and all kinds of memories come back to me. Can YOU remember what you were up to 22 years ago back in 1984 or 1985?

Below left ... 22 years ago. Below right ... 8 years ago... and at bottom center is an image from this past Thanksgiving in Boston...

Nice pics Crash! Love the 80's hair! ;)

1984 I was 20 & living in Ft. Lauderdale & working at Boca West Resort as a laundress. I would have to press the sheets by pushing them through an enormous iron & with temps outside in 90s, it was well over 100 in the laundry room. I didn't make much money so I didn't eat a lot either. I was probably in the best shape of my life! :laundy:

My remodeling is going full steam at work. They got my new dispensers running in 4 days. They started jack hammering the back stockroom floor yesterday--which will be my new office.

They are also making progress on our rental:cool1:

Adam's sr. prom is tomorrow night and I leave for Boston Saturday morning.

Please let me know if I miss anything important.

Happy birthday to anyone I have missed.:goodvibes

I still haven't got all the details from Mr. Emerald--which is very aggravating. I would recommend that you book a Cartagena excursion and then cancel it if you wish. I guess I threw him when trying to add Baru to the mix and then talking about the numbers of people interested.:confused3

We are remodeling too! Just finished our siding a few months ago & we just had a new porch & deck put on this week. Now we have to re-tile the baths, put up trim over the whole house & paint paint paint! :sad2:

Welcome to Boston!!! :flower3:

Paula, you sure sound busy. Tell Adam to have a great time at his prom. Take one day at a time.

Boston? Have the clam chowder, they really know how to make great clam chowder up there.:)

It's pronounced chowdah! :goodvibes

Good morning all

Is it just me or is anyone else not inspired by the entertainment onboard the WB sailing?

I think we'll have all we need with Cheryl dancing on the tables, M carrying around a corpse, Crash scoffing Mickey bars till he drops, etc. etc. etc.

Let's see...we could Embarq in Boston, whale watch off New Brunswick, hit Quebec, Montreal, Toronto, Niagara/Buffalo, Cleveland (excursion to M's childhood home), Cedar Point/Put-in-bay, Detroit, Mackinaw, Transit the Sault St Marie Locks and back.

250px-Soo_Locks-Sault-Ste_Marie.png

then hit Milwaukee and Chicago. Time it up right, could have excursions see baseball games in Boston, Toronto, Cleveland, Detroit, Milwaukee and Chicago (x 2).

and to top it off......Cabana Massages on the beach by Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plant:thumbsup2 :

DisasterDavisBesse.jpg

Sounded okay till you got to the power plant! :scared:

...and we have pretty good lobstah too :thumbsup2

:flower3:
You know I wouldn't dish it out if I didn't think you could take it!
Blame DD - I'm innocent! Just ask Crash and Cheryl.

I'm not sure we want Tom and Roger to be on that guy's list in August.

Gee M, ...... I dunnno about you bein' INNOCENT or not .... sneaking into woodshop class just to make an ELABORATE shovel handle? I dunnno about that. I mean, that's just one step away from being towel girl for the Varsity football team. This smacks of "stalking" if ya kno what I mean.... :confused3

However, just to keep things simple, my opinion can be bought for just a few Mickey Bars. I think in this matter 3 will do.

Isn't this like the 5th time he (Joey Fatone) is the celebrity cruiser on DCL??? Have they mentioned if Ducky Willians is on their cruise?

I am still annoyed they took away they live band for the sailaway party. I thought it was a bit of a cheesy move.

They did??? That's not right!

Thanks Peter, I'll be sure to tell him. Everyone is meeting at our house--there is a benefit to renting the limo for them. LOL

You know I have never had clam chowder. I do love fried clams as long as there are no bellies attached. I do know there will be :cake: as we are celebrating my Nana's 90th birthday.

Tell Johnna and the girls we all say hello. :goodvibes

You have to ask for clam STRIPS up here or you WILL get bellies! I don't like em either!

I know he is on vacation, but we have been emailing since January. I think it was the addition of Baru that has delayed everything:confused:

What is Baru?

When I left my apartment this morning, there was police warning tape all around, lots of police and police cars, etc. It turned out that there was a raccoon (a pretty big one) hanging out in the tree right in front of our building. Now some of you may see lots of raccoons, but this is the first time I have seen one on the Upper East Side. They eventually shot a tranquilizer into him and caught him in a net to take to animal control. I am hoping they will release him somewhere out of the city rather than euthanize him -- he was pretty darn cute. I took some pictures but don't know if they turned out. If so, I will try to post a few later.:goodvibes

Hmmmm well if a racoon or skunk is out during the day around here, animal control will come by & shoot em, but no warning tape, cruisers, etc. That's a little over kill!

So no sleep tonight....gotta watch the crossing

no sleep tomorrow....Chat

no sleep Sunday....."Hassle Free Booking"
guess I won't be around much Saturday, that will be my only time to get some sleep

Did you know they sang their own songs too??? :confused3

my dilemnia is .. do i ketchup and read the past 25 pages to know what is going on .. or just jump in and say HI ...

Hi Susan! :flower3:

Yes, but are those the "Flag Stamps" that have no price on them...sorry, having a blonde moment :hippie:

That is way too late for us OCD DCL Planners

Ahhh, the previous comments were kind of going over my head until you pointed that out :hippie:

I could never get my wish list to work either

I got the 5 & 9 to come up at one point, then 1/2 hour later...nothing. I want a Cat 4 to come up so I can see how much money I "saved" my DH :rotfl: :rotfl:

HI!!! I tried to ketchup for about an hour or two this morning. I think I only read one day's worth of posts

That WOULD be me...thanks for posting

I tried that on Mike, but it didn't work. I said, "Look honey if we wanted a cat. 6 today it would cost us almost 3K more!" He just rolled his eyes & walked away.

Just to let you know some PALO rules.

On any booking prior to the cruise you can only book one Brunch / Afternoon Tea / Dinner.-Per adult on your booking.

If you book online by yourself and then get the Palo private room they will cross refer the reservation numbers and you will have to cancel your own personal booking.

IE If you book Palo Brunch on line, by yourself and then get a Palo Private group brunch, you will be asked to cancel one. You still Will Be able to have afternoon tea and dinner in this example.

Now Palo private room only confirms at 30 days in advance, I know this from organising this in 2007.

Sadly, there's no "kit" for helping the guys it seems....

How very sexist of you Crash! Besides, I didn't need to be the towel girl - I dated the varsity football captain.

(In my middle school, everyone took 1/2 year home ec and 1/2 year shop)

Yeah, I very excitedly called Steve on my way to work this morning and told him that I just saved $3,000. I got the same reaction. I could actually hear him rolling his eyes.

Well...

... Michelle, please forgive me ... I did not really mean to come across that way. I sort of google images quick when a whim strikes me... and sometimes what the google search brings can shift my thinking. I am driven simply to post something nominally related to what I had in mind - with an image that sort of goes with it. SOmetimes I don't weigh what I'm posting - nor do I sometimes exercise sufficient diplomacy from time to time. Evidenced by the candied G-string images that I posted which drew a bit of moderator censure.

Please forgive me M. Remember, after I proposed marriage to Alicia, I asked how she felt about changing her last name to take mine. Well, she sort of laughed and asked if I would like to change MY last name to takee hers. So, I do live in a sort of "liberated" home.

What is Baru?

It's an island off Cartegena, included in one of DCL's tours . . . some of us were interested in adding a beach break onto Mr. Emerald's usual fare, and apparently that made us appear so difficult that he has decided to ignore us all together!

So did you?;)

For those of you planning on booking SupperShuttle here is a discount code to use for $3 off a one way fare.

UYR59.:goodvibes

Thanks! I wasn't sure who to use, so I went ahead & booked a private sedan from LGB with the discount code. It was only about $10 more than the shared van so what the hey! :thumbsup2

I wonder if WB has been as difficult as this group? We must have quite a reputation! Oh well they will really be missing out on a fun bunch of people if they don't respond! ;)

Good Morning Pirates :surfweb:

The prices coming up for this cruise are pretty steep. Hopefully too steep for everyone's blood to book and all the GTY's get upgrades :dance3: :dance3:

Got lots of errands and such to do that didn't get done yesterday, :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 , but think I will play here instead.

Did somebody say

FREE

UPGRADES?!?!?!?

You know, I have limited expectations and have no preconceived notions so I am not disappointed. I would love a big name but Joey Fatoe is big enough for me. :)
On RCCL we did get to see Bowser so after him everyone else is downhill.;)

I'm pretty happy go lucky about the entertainment on the ship. I really enjoy the stage type shows most - and the filler acts for the longer cruise - well it is fine if a big name - and fine if not. I'm just happy as a fiddle to be simply ON the voyage in any capacity!

Ok..now I am being a pest to the lanyard company as much as I am to DCL!

I have confirmed that it takes approximately 4-5 weeks to recieve the lanyards..so that I don't stress about it and get plenty of time to order and recieve them - the deadline to order them from me is going to be next Friday the 23rd. I want to allow for if there is any errors that I can get a new batch in time. They have also informed me that the saying will go on twice if I have it under 60 characters so I chose:

Pirates Through The Panama Canal - DCL Magic - August 2008

If you would like to order them..please PM me (so I don't miss anyone on the boards). They are $1.00 each and will have a clip to attach to the name tags. I will be getting plastic sleeves so that our name tags and KTTW cards will fit!

We will be going with the following colors & font:

lanyard2.png

Thank you to everyone for your input! I appreciated it. We are curently at 99 lanyards!

p.s. I PM'd Laura to see if she wanted any..didn't want her left out.

They look great:woohoo: :woohoo: I will make good for Laura...I am sure she would like to have them too!!! If she is going both ways on the Panama..she will not mind spending the extra few dollars!!!:rolleyes1 You and Chrissie are great doing all this work. I just sent out e-mails to late diners as I am still missing lots of info~~;) ;)

I am ready for a nap.

I am going to call you and wake you up!!!:rolleyes1
