Hi my name is Becky. Myself, my brother Stephen (Nacho1337 on the DIS), my Mom Linda and Dad David are booked on this cruise. It is in celebration of my Mom's 50th birthday. My parents are booked in a category 11 gty and my brother and I are booked in a cat 12 gty.

Now I just need to have my vacation time approved by my supervisor, who only returns to work on Monday, which is exactly 90 days out when total payment is due.:headache: I could use tons of good wishes that I can actually go. Everyone else is able to go, but I am not sure as my supervisor is on vacation.

This will be my parents second cruise, as all 4 of us were on a 4 day Wonder cruise in 2005. It will be my brother and I's 4th cruise.

Hope to get to know all of you better and I can not wait to be on board. This is so different from my previous cruises in which I had long countdowns. So:banana:  :yay: :yay: much too do so little time.

Welcome aboard :cheer2: Hope everything works out at work. I turned in my vacation request 2/1/07 and keep checking to see that it still is approved. I'm still going whether it is or not :rotfl: but will have a lot less explaining when I return.

For the lanyard silly.

Sooo....

... today i returned the HD DVD player I bought last week from Best Buy. I found that I could buy the same thing off ebay and get near a dozen titles bundled with it for just a little more than what I had just paid for the player alone! AND besides - I've been rethinking the approach here ... and it WOULD be a wiser move to just get a BLU RAY player instead - even if I have to pay more conventionally.

I am not sure the exact model number but Bill came home the other day with a new Sony hybrid DVD camcorder thingie. The part I like is it will record to either a DVD or a memory stick. So far we really like it.

Chrissie this is John on Cheryl's log in. Yes you are right, Cheryl is pushy:worship: Love ya Cheryl:love2:

barrel_monkeys.gif

I suspected so much....

.... however she seems to be more fun than a barrel of monkeys.... and such a riot with the images she dredges up.

Hey Tom, this is John, I'm using Cheryl Disid, this is the same camera I bought at Thanksgiving. I have nothing but high praise for it. I used it to film our son's wedding in Feb.. Movie turned out great clear and sharp still learning differant features of it. I got this especially for the cruise.
Have fun with it.

John aka mousehouseman

I'm just hoping for the best. I imagine how everyone that's a "regular" here knows what a bottom fisher I am... and I'm not a bit shy about it (obviously!). I apprectate your sharing the promising opinions on it. I was going to look for a UW or water resistant housing for it now - so we could take it into the surf and shoot a little. Nothing really UNDERWATER since I don't swim - and I'll be the primary user.

Welll... come to think of it ... I just might use my usual IMPROVISED UW / water resistant housing .....

Bag-3.jpg

I've used these zip locks many a time with our pocket digicams - and sneak it out a bit for moments when a HQ shot is desired. What a hoot... a UW/WR bag for pennies!

Coral, stop with all of the technological talk....my head is spinning now!

Not much for themeing, but no place can beat Cedar Point for roller coasters - I love the little rides there too!

What then heck..relocate the Magic on Lake Erie when the new ships are done and we can tender in on the Jet Express;)

I read this with shock and fascination! It amazes me how this could come about. However, once last year neighbor friends of ours came to ring our door. The Mom greeted me and asked for my opinion about a problem she had. It seems she had about $600+ missing from her childrens' piggy banks... and from what she could tell the ONLY person who had been in the house was thier baby sitter. A middle school aged neighbor girl whom I did not know.........As for YOUR situation.... I think you did the right thing. It was a tbit of a tough choice in some ways - but you choose the more conservative and protective path. I'm sure others might differ - but I see it no other way. You've had a few "issues" evidently in the past. And now on the first occassion of you being gracious again the young lady STEALS from your children.. and goes to fence the stuff - gets CAUGHT red handed - and she had the terminity to lie about it on the spot. That sort of behavior has no need for further forgiveness. It's high time for consequences to be assigned. The actions you take today shall serve to warn others who may review her record before employing her or admitting her into college.... assuming these factors are revealed when she seeks a job or higher education. I don't know much about these things thankfully I guess... so I can only imagine this event is a matter of public record - and a critical consideration when employing or reviewing a candidate for all kinds of things of merit.

AND to think... the MOM was on the field trip and was going to LET HER sell the games off. I'm not too clear on the rest of your posted conversation at the bottom there - but it sounds really sinister. Having the girl develope a record will be the right thing. Having the authorities warn this family against retaliating because it would lead to THEM further developing more violations and more of a criminal record is GOOD. .... Good for you.

May I offer my complements on your rightous strength in this matter! And may I add I'm sorry to see anyone sully thier record with such a thing. And this is coming from someone who is perpetually INNOCENT - and occasionally questioned on the matter of his INNOCENCE.... < wink >

Thanks for the support from you and everyone else today. It's been tense today as the police didn't serve her with a court summons until tonight. She didn't show up to school today and the admin said they tried to call both parents as no one called in to say she would be gone so it's an unexcused absence. Yet, she was out playing after school with the other kids. So far, no contact and the police told us they would tell her and her parents not to call or contact us. Before tonight, she has sent down her siblings and friends to try to get our son to call her or come talk to her. It was a tough thing to do and we questioned ourselves a lot, but hope this helps change her for the better.

I still cannot get through that book. I LOVE to read, but that book is so detailed I cannot see the forest for the trees.

Yes, it was quite difficult at times especially the talk of the shareholders' meetings and details of the failure of the French company and it's successor. I find David McCullough very thorough and really enjoyed his Truman and Adams biographies, as well as 1776.

Welcome! Did you just book? Hope you have to problems with the time-off so you can make the cruise!

Just an update, the Festival of Sail LA 2008 is now up. Not much is there yet but they say they will be adding info soon.

Thanks! We're really looking forward to this event.

I'll be in Ft Worth tomorrow morning....and probably Thursday morning...... :)

I know you don't *know* me but, if you want to hang out with a family one evening this week...let me know and I'll PM you our address (we are in Mansfield in case you want to Mapquest -- off of 287). We can grill steaks and play Disney Scene - It and it is really fun to play!

Thanks for the offer but I am 'entertaining' a customer. Had to take them to the Stockyards (H3) last night but got away with staying near the hotel tonight. Hopefully going home tomorrow afternoon.

I'm out in Fossil Creek area (near 820 and 35W) where my company used to have a huge set of offices but now don't have enough to fill half of one of the buildings we used to own. :sad2: I used to come down here all the time in the 'good old days'.

Hopefully the nasty storms stay away.

I trust the powers that be will see the wisdom in granting your requests without fanfare. If not - then I trust you'll have a good story prepared Roger!

This is funny because that's the exact statement I made in my birth announcements when DD6 was born (about having to learn a zone).

On our recent trip to Europe, we did the 'buddy' thing with the youngest kids because after the 1st day at Disneyland Paris, I was ready to kill my youngest son and my wife was ready to sell our daughter. The next day, I said I'd keep DD6 and my wife would watch DS11 and we had a much better time.

We just magically swap kids for each leg of the journey...mostly because DS7 has no common sense & is much more frustrating to deal with. But of course they don't know this.

When both kids were toddlers, we used to announce "zone" or "man-on-man" in the house, just so we wouldn't lose one of them.

Again, this is why I only have 2.

Birth announcements - I put my 13 month old in an "I'm the Big Brother" t-shirt.

That's OK. I can spell but we all know I cannot type worth a durn! So basically no one can tell I can actually spell. :lmao:

I have NEVER had nails that actually got long enough to have white on the ends of them before now. I discovered a little thing called Biotin. Shazam!! Nails long and beautiful. I still look down and cannot believe these are my actual nails. Looks great, but makes the bad typing even worse.

Are you sure it's not the emu oil?? Or was it llama??

That was so nice of them to add this for our enjoyment. :)

Wait until DH arranges for the USCGC Eagle to pull into port. :rotfl2:

I LOVE Put-in-Bay!! We may spend a week there next summer for our "cheap" vacation.

Be careful JR. Things are supposed to pick back up tonight. Gotta love Spring in N. Texas. :thumbsup2

OMG, too funny. We did the exact same thing (just substitute 15 month old).

Sad thing was, we were with my Mother for several hours before she noticed.....

Yes...just let me know how many you would like :)

I love these can you put me down for 3

***Everyone who is interested in attending Mass onboard***

Also, someone gave me a really good idea about advertising Mass times and locations, in the event it is not listed in the Navigator. She suggested we list them on a sign to put on our doors. I thought that was very clever, so I wanted to share it with all of you.
this would be a good magnet idea

As I've mentioned before, my DS10 is reading a kids book on the Panama Canal.

Found the title a bit later - adding this to DS summer reading program along with the series books that have been discussed - I got him the 1st one from the library to see if he likes them - and he does - i just cant think of the name

WOW this thread has been flying this week. I went to check the items in my wishlist and they had disappeared and my choices from 2006 were there?? What the heck!!!!!!! now I need to go back and print out the ones I want to try for on Sunday/Monday.

Good Evening all!

Are you sure it's not the emu oil?? Or was it llama??

Emu. Still got a full ounce minus 4 drops if anyone is interested. Of course, he immediately switched me to the silicone sheeting. I am thinking kickback about this time.

Wait until DH arranges for the USCGC Eagle to pull into port. :rotfl2:

That will just be so cool to see.
