I thought I would drop by and introduce myself. We are on this cruise and for some strange reason not as excited as we were last year with the Med Repo. I thought a little dose of the DIS might be just what the doctor ordered.

We are traveling with no children this time (ours are all adults, but we are not even bringing a grandchild). There are 6 of us. Me and DH, his brother who is married to my sister and the in-laws. Not a very exciting group, maybe that is my problem:rotfl2:

I have not even explored shore excursions. I have 2 days before I can book, so I guess I have time;)

We are flying in the day before and staying right by the ship. I wish we could do DL, but not with this gang. There is not enough prozac in the world to help me cope with taking my father in law to DL.:scared1: He is an old retired Marine who has no patience for lines, heck he has no patience for waiting.

I have thrown in the towel on trying to read up on all the happenings as you are all a busy bunch. I will check the link provided to me and read the readers digest version.

So, in the mean time if some of you could send some pixie dust this way to help increase my excitement I would be grateful.:worship:

So hoz this fer a little excitement (below)

I researched zip line tours close to home. There are about a couple within a two hour or so drive of our house. The one at Vail costs about $125 and you only get 5 zips. Another one is six zips for $80 but the longest is only 400 feet. There is one that is train accessible only and I think you get 27 zips, but the cost is $330 pp. We're getting a bargain -- 14 zips and $300 for five of us!

They just added a zip line tour in Southern Ohio this spring. They're offering a 'Kids zip free' on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Normal pricing is $75/person.

Now all we need is Sea World to come back to Ohio with a Dolphin Encounter and we never have to leave home again

Going back to your question about taxi's from the Doubletree....although I know the group was talking about Aruba....the Doubltree has a shuttle to take us to the port.
I know they do cruise people all the time, but I wonder if they are prepared for DISNEY CRUISERS???? :lmao:

I believe she's talking about Aruba
Thanks I was confused..

Welcome!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hey Susan- Glad you were more successful than me getting them to switch. Keep an eye out on the Pirate site. We are all meeting at the Ports O'call restaurant Sat evening. Plan, at least now, is to watch the Tall Ships and get some dinner.
There is a shuttle but it sounds like it will be in hot demand so we are probably going to looking for a cab.

Coral

Thanks for setting me straight.. I guess that is what happens when I type and don't read or ketchup.. LOL:confused3 :rotfl:

Coral .. I think a cab will be good as the shuttle may not carry us all.. or maybe they will make special arrangements with the large Number of people going to the port..

I still cannot get through that book. I LOVE to read, but that book is so detailed I cannot see the forest for the trees.

They serve Supper too??? Man, I am booking! Sorry, could not resist. ;)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: For some reason I can't spell worth a nickle sometimes when I am on the computer.

Looks great!

Same here - no beans - thought I was the only one.
Beans in general are mushy..It's a texture thing!

Elvis is awesome....

As I mentioned last night, we had quite the ordeal at the 6th grade Math at the Mall Fieldtrip that both my DW and I attended as chaperones. I'll try to give everyone a condensed version, but it's still a long story.

Unreal!

Are you listening Chrissie!!!!:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 We need your art work to go inside the pocket!!!:flower3: :flower3:

I have been chatting back and forth with Desiree...You will have awesome tags fellow pirates!Wow Cheryl is pushy!:lmao:

Sooo....

... today i returned the HD DVD player I bought last week from Best Buy. I found that I could buy the same thing off ebay and get near a dozen titles bundled with it for just a little more than what I had just paid for the player alone! AND besides - I've been rethinking the approach here ... and it WOULD be a wiser move to just get a BLU RAY player instead - even if I have to pay more conventionally.

So... while at Best Buy I stumbled upon a clearanced Sony camcorder. The DCR-DVD108... an entry level DVD bruning camcorder reduced from $400 to $125... however, it is missing the battery and charger, box and so on. But it looked to be in pristine condition... the lense looked unmolested - no dust and the mechanism was dust free and operated crisply..... So, I thought... gee, Alicia has been clammoring for us to get another one of these things - only a DVD buring model. So I bought it! And just now I picked up a high cap battery (2100ma versus Sony's normal battery at 1800ma) with charger from Hong Kong via ebay for $28 including shipping! And I bought a spindle of 50 mini DVDRW discs in the 1.4GB size (30 minutes) made by Phillips for only $26 shipped plus tax - and they will be sent locally from Irvine! I found that the lowest street price on the camcorder appears to be $300 from reliable sellers on the internet - the only type I prefer. So I saved about half for tolerating a used display model and non-original charger however I have a higher capacity battery (+ 20% power rating).

I hope it works out OK.... it powered on just fine in the store - and it is just what I wanted. A camcorder I won't anguish over if I destroy it by accident... or lose it. And we've been in need of higher quality video recordings for some time. Now I am equipped to shoot 25 hours of DVDRW video for the upcoming cruise - among other events! All for a bargain price to boot!

Wooo Hooo!

Joel....Drew attended Camp Mary Orton for a couple of Summers and they have a zip line that crosses a ravine. Kylie has been asking about attending camp there. She did get to zip when we visited for parents night a few years ago. She was only 5 at the time, and she loved it!

Hi my name is Becky. Myself, my brother Stephen (Nacho1337 on the DIS), my Mom Linda and Dad David are booked on this cruise. It is in celebration of my Mom's 50th birthday. My parents are booked in a category 11 gty and my brother and I are booked in a cat 12 gty.

Now I just need to have my vacation time approved by my supervisor, who only returns to work on Monday, which is exactly 90 days out when total payment is due.:headache: I could use tons of good wishes that I can actually go. Everyone else is able to go, but I am not sure as my supervisor is on vacation.

This will be my parents second cruise, as all 4 of us were on a 4 day Wonder cruise in 2005. It will be my brother and I's 4th cruise.

Hope to get to know all of you better and I can not wait to be on board. This is so different from my previous cruises in which I had long countdowns. So:banana:  :yay: :yay: much too do so little time.

Welcome Aboard. I hope the time off works out for you.

Don't talk to us about long countdowns. Most of us have been booked since Jan 2007.

Hey Tom, this is John, I'm using Cheryl Disid, this is the same camera I bought at Thanksgiving. I have nothing but high praise for it. I used it to film our son's wedding in Feb.. Movie turned out great clear and sharp still learning differant features of it. I got this especially for the cruise.
Have fun with it.

Not much for themeing, but no place can beat Cedar Point for roller coasters - I love the little rides there too!

Welcome!
After 400+ days, I'm not sure I could get ready for this one in just 90!!!

We have "travel buddies". We are each pick 1 DS to be our buddy for the trip, so that is the one kid each of us is responsible for. Works well for things like security lines where we are likely to be separated.

Man-on-man defense as opposed to a zone.

I guess with 5 kids you have to play zone defense all the time. That's why I stopped at 2. Couldn't handle the logistics of more!

This is funny because that's the exact statement I made in my birth announcements when DD6 was born (about having to learn a zone).

On our recent trip to Europe, we did the 'buddy' thing with the youngest kids because after the 1st day at Disneyland Paris, I was ready to kill my youngest son and my wife was ready to sell our daughter. The next day, I said I'd keep DD6 and my wife would watch DS11 and we had a much better time.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: For some reason I can't spell worth a nickle sometimes when I am on the computer.

That's OK. I can spell but we all know I cannot type worth a durn! So basically no one can tell I can actually spell. :lmao:

I have NEVER had nails that actually got long enough to have white on the ends of them before now. I discovered a little thing called Biotin. Shazam!! Nails long and beautiful. I still look down and cannot believe these are my actual nails. Looks great, but makes the bad typing even worse.
