we're still trying to decide on stuff to do...wondering if dcl excursions are the way to go?

bumping up...anyone help out?

We are doing mostly DCL excursions. DH is too nervous to venture out and worry about catching the boat. It is a lot of hurry up and wait but in his mind its piece of mind! So we will be doing all DCL excursions with the exception of Cabo - we will do the beach on our own (I think). Happy Monday everyone! Very windy & chilly here!

Its DD birthday today so I am up early to make her favorite breakfast of waffles! Then its off to school for the start of another week (only 5 wks to go) of craziness, the kids know its the end of the year & its really difficult to keep them focused. Hard to keep me focused too :thumbsup2 SOL's start tomorrow - :scared:

I've just about decided that I will no longer leave my house. I'm going to stay in bed with my head buried under the covers. I can't catch a break.

I'm just glad its over.

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Finally back from NY and caught up:goodvibes
Visited my Mom. She's doing well after her mastectomy last week. I also had to get up early this morning to attend my little brother's graduation ceremony-He has his masters:banana: This is the brother that barely made it out of high school-he has come a long way:rolleyes1
Spent most of Mother's Day in the car driving back to Virginia:rolleyes:
Good to be home:cloud9:

Glad you had a good weekend and made it home safely!:goodvibes

Okay...before I play ketchup......had too exciting of a Mother's Day.:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

While at my daughter's house I got a phone call from my son that he was in a car accident!!! He was in a parking lot when some guy smashed into him at 40 miles an hour. The guy who hit my son was being followed by the local police and state police in Michigan. Sirens were going right after the guy hit him. My son flew out of his car because the police had guns drawn to apprehend the suspect. The suspect allegedly beat his wife, cut her face with glass and hit his son with a baseball bat. Son Is okay but car is totaled!! No fault insurance in that state so he got the bad end of the deal. The good news is he just got really banged up!!!

That's scary -- but at least he is OK . . .

So, not the best camping trip I've had. But I will give DS credit. Even with all the set backs, he handled himself quite well. Especially with the tent. Both of us were getting so frustrated. This is the kind of thing that could really set him off. I expected him to storm off, cursing and blaming me. But he stuck in there and kept trying to help. Everyone said I was so brave for even considering a weekend alone with him. But I knew that camping was something that he loves. I even gave him the choice of camping or going to my brothers. He chose camping And a normal camping trip, we don't usually have so many things go wrong. So no frustration for him which is really what sets him off. I was really worried with each new set back that I was going to see his breaking point. But he hung in there.

I'm sorry you had such a carpy weekend Monica, but that makes it seem like a great weekend. Progress is good!

Hey now,be nice! ;) I just saw Tina Turner and Cher on Oprah last week....Tina is 68 and Cher's 61. They still sound great.

Yes, but one is a freak of nature and one is a freak of plastic surgery!

Did anyone see Tina Turner and Beyonce perform together on some awards show a while back? Tina made Beyonce look old and fat. :rotfl2:

Yikes! I'm glad he's OK.
I had to eat the insurance costs once in SoCal. I was hit by three illegals immigrants in a stolen car being chased by the border patrol.

except for the one employee who will be manning the phones for dcl. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Ya think there will be one???
I doubt it.

It's memories like this, that you have to hold on to when they're rolling around on the floor punching each other in the head. :rotfl2:

M, how many more Mondays until TOAL ?

13

Interestingly, my monkeys were rolling around on the floor punching each other in the head just mere minutes after serving me breakfast in bed.

Do they allow monkeys on the cruise? If so, I'll have to go out and buy myself one! :)

P.S. As people were leaving Mass yesterday, several wished me a Happy Mothers Day. Not quite sure how I want to take that! :rotfl2:

Must be tornados in Columbus ohio. They just evacuated our site there:scared1:

Yes, the sirens were all going off, so we camped out in the basement for quite a while. Luckily, all we saw here was a lot of heavy rain. :thumbsup2

And then another one of an emoticon slapping someone else in the head. It would come in handy! :lmao:

H.C. (Jonesing) who used to be here had a smilie specially reserved for me. It was one smilie hitting the other with a frying pan.

My monkeys are allowed on the cruise. My boys area almost always collectively referred to as "the monkeys". I'm not mother of the year, but it works for us.

Gosh Mike, so sorry I forgot to wish you Happy Mother's Day yesterday! :rotfl2:

From Laura's Blog:

Oh yeah, for those interested? Sunday, May 11, MothersGet this: Formal Night are: Monday, May 12 and Tuesday, May 13, back to back and both sea days. On Wednesday, May 14 is Tropical Night at Aruba. Thursday, May 15 is Sea Day, Friday, May 16 is Panama Canal Crossing Day with Saturday, May 17 being yet another sea day. And want to guess what Sunday, May 18th is? Yup – another sea day. So that means that Monday, May 19th is Acapulco and Tuesday, May 20 is yet another sea day. Wednesday, May 21, 2008 is Puerta Vallarta and Thursday, May 22, 2008 is Cabo San Lucas and VOILA! Pirate Night – and yes – we did bring our pirate outfits. Friday, May 23, is yet ANOTHER sea day but a formal one – Ballroom Under the Stars. Saturday, May 24, is a sea day and finally on Sunday, May 25 is disembarkation day. An end to this wonderful adventure.

I'm assuming that there's a typo & the 2nd of the back-to-back formal nights is semi-formal. Is this sched the same as the one that was floating around before the cruise?

Happy Mother's day!!!!!!!!!

My earlier picture was changed on the thread!!!:headache: :headache: Is someone hacking into the board???:confused3 :confused3 There was some strange graphic that took place of my greeting this morning!! I just edited it out!!

I doubt that. What happened is you were linked to a graphic on someone else's site (known as 'hot-linking'). They probably have it set up so if that happens, they swap out the graphic to another one (like photobucket does when there are too many people accessing a graphic).

A lot of people, myself included, don't like it when people link to graphics on their site because it costs bandwidth. (Some people will even be malicious and swap out the graphic for an obscene one).

Full disclosure: I've only done that once when I found out someone was using some artwork I created on their site and passing it off as their own. They ended up with a nice picture of Pam Anderson on their website for a few days until they caught on.

...[ed]...

I was hit while riding a BICYCLE in a 190 mile fund raiser for multiple sclerosis. I was only at the 60th mile marker into the ride when in a descent, in the bicycle lane, with lots of riders moving about 40 MPH a young dummy with a girlfriend in the car decided to make a left turn into a drive way - he cut right INTO me throwing me into another car waiting to exit the driveway ( front row witness). This dummy had just been in another accident a month earlier and LOST insurance. I was taken away with broken hip and arm...

As a result - my attorney confirmed the guy was uninsured and appeared judgement proof. He had no steady employment or credentials suggesting he would gain a garnishable career. So I maxed my uninsured motorist and managed to handle my medical Bills fully with a little cash left over ... I went to Europe for 3.5 weeks to finish my recovery. In spite of getting a max settlement from my policy ... it seems I could have gotten 5x that settlement supposedly. And that's with little earning power on record then.

Today if I were hit my lifetime estimated earnings loss would push a similar settlement much higher... supposedly. SO... I carry maximum uninsured motorist plus an umbrella policy with a special rider that extends the umbrella to the uninsured motorist.

By the way - a seperate story was how MY insurance company tried to delay and evade settling with me. In brief ... after a series of delaying tactics from the Insurance people ... I went in personally on crutches with casts on and demanded to speak to the managerhandling my case. I came prepared after consulting my attorney friends (yes I have friends who claim to be attorney types)... and I walked out with a max check. I was on a bike but was hit by an uninsured motorist while on an alternate conveyance.... or something like that.

So.... as a result, I figure most of the dangerous drivers are the irresponsible low life types WITHOUT insurance of thier own. All the drivers with insurance are mostly good drivers desperately trying to AVOID getting into accidents. Thus I'm actually less likely to get lucky enough to be hit badly by a well insured motorist. SO here I am paying extra to insure myself against to bums who pay nothing to insure thier privilage to drive.

I would thus encourage everyone to have decent (if not strong) coverage against uninsured motorists. The most psychotic being my approach.

I'm just glad its over.

Monica, I hope you and Trevoy can laugh now (or soon) about the calamity of errors. Sorry that your weekend didn't go as planned. That is great that Trevoy handled it all in stride.

JR!!!

You've just missed a great shot at extorting a few MIckey Bars from Cheryl! You were supposed to say you "knew" who MIGHT be responsible for the image swapping.. and that so and so a number of Mickey Bars might restore Cheryls' postings to an undisturbed state. An' just ta keep things on the up an' up you would be happy to serve as neutral go between ... for a modest fee of course...

And on a seperate note... may I add...

SHAME ON YOU!!!!

< grinnin' wink >

... for using Ms Andersons' image for your nefarious exploits in punishing an offending bandwidth hog!

Tisk - tisk - tisk

....and never you mind that I'm using an image that is being used in turn without confirmed credientials.

I am eternally innocent ....

Asked DS if he wanted to see the Magic leave FL

DS: To come get ready for us?

Me: Yes

DS: Sweet! Let me see!

Guess our conversation went better than others.

Sorry your camping trip didn't go so well, but I'm glad to hear how well Trevoy handled things. And it's great to see that he's excited about the cruise!

Tom, this is the same reason we put locks on our homes, to keep the honest people out.;) We have had to use our uninsured coverage twice--thankfully nothing as serious as your claim.:sad2:

Well...

... I forgot to mention (recant) that in addition to the bicycle accident - I was hit last August in Hawaii while driving the rental car - T-Bone style by what some say was an illeagle immigrant ... he ran a stop light 1 block away from the Honolulu Police station... as he drove off with me and others yelling to STOP.... several police gave chase. They later said they pulled over the wrong van when they were trailing the guy by no more than 30-40 yards. A cop had been watching off to the side as we attempted to resolve the situation normally... the cp didn't bother approaching to help until the guy DROVE off and we all started yelling at him.

Go figure.

I'm still not entirely certain how this will play out. I know my insurance will eventually pay off the claim to the rental car agency supposedly - and I should not have to pay a deductible since it is supposed to be an uninsured motorist... but for the moment (supposedly) my insurance comapny is processing it as a regular accident and asking me to front a deductible plus a small portion they won't cover .... SUPPOSEDLY.... and I'm doggedly refusing while trying to force them to to process it properly as an uninsured motorist claim with NO deductible. It's not the money - it's the idea - and the treatment of my rates over the long haul I'm concerned with.
