I have decided to buy the black Embarktion shirts but not the white ones. I am, most likely, going to either be in my bathing suit or cover up all day on the PC day. Also, I hate the "See through' effect of white shirts.

Thanks Stephanie.....You are up late tonight!!!;) Is Jill and Matt posting a blog too from the WBPC???:confused3

I was up late last night...and now I'm paying for it this morning! LOL!

Matt is doing a trip report on the *Trip Report* board. Matt is *Iamahiddenmickey*

The DIS boards will replace obscene words with the **** so someone was trying to type T-shirt and omitted a letter, forcing the DIS to autoreplace ****.

Kinda became a running gag after that

Hahah OK got it... I just couldn't figure out the T-****.... Thanks!

My monkeys are allowed on the cruise. My boys area almost always collectively referred to as "the monkeys". I'm not mother of the year, but it works for us.

Hey M, don't you know that calling children "monkeys" is a horrible thing that can get you all over the front page of the newspaper ;) :rotfl2:

A town near here (where DH works) got tons of publicity lately. One of the aldermen (a hispanic woman) was concerned when she saw the children who live next door to her climbing around in a large tree on the edge of her property. She went out and told them it wasn't safe and "you monkeys need to come down from there". Suddenly, all sorts of hoopla - the Mom cries "Racism" and that the "comment was totally offensive". The children happened to be african american. This poor woman had all sorts of news coverage (radio, Chicago newspapers, etc) calling for her to step down as alderman and as an Obama deligate to the Democratic convention! It seems to have died down now, but since DH regularly calls the neighborhood kids "monkeys" as they climb all over DS's playset, I keep warning him to be careful he doesn't get kicked off the city's Environmental Commission for it! :rotfl2:

Can you believe how crazy these things get? Calling kids "monkeys" seems perfectly normal to me!

Pamela

Kristina & Laurie - you working on your ark yet???

Random thought - maybe not Julie Andrews, but how about Dick Van ****? He would be fun.

I would thus encourage everyone to have decent (if not strong) coverage against uninsured motorists. The most psychotic being my approach.

Ugh. I remember you writing about that crash before. Yikes!
I guess I had uninsured motorist coverage. All I had to pay was the deductible, which was a big enough PITA...until my employer offered to pay it for me since I was running around town for work when it happened. We've only used our insurance twice in 15 years, so we save on premiums with a $1000 deductible.

So would TT be the FoN or FoPS? :lmao:

I'd give Tina Turner the freak of nature title. She may have had work done, but that can only do so much, she's still pretty buff for 106 years old or whatever. Cher is def the freak of plastic surgery!

Begging the question: What is worse? Being give no information, or the wrong information???

Less than one week to go...I'm e-mailing DCL again today...

That's crazy. I can see how it would be an aweful, derrogatory term in some instances, but that seems a bit over the top.

Yes, we call our kids "the monkeys", so do many of our friends. It is a term of endearment (I know, wierd family). They actually like it.

I also have a brother who is 10 years younger than me that I have called Goose his entire life. My kids use Uncle Goose and Uncle Keith interchangeably.

**** = Patten?

speaking of out of context...
let me try this: Dick Vandyke

You know Bert from Mary Poppins among other things. Not the 8 is Enough guy!

Gonna join Mike, Roger and I on that list?

The list is long but distinguished.

(Just in case anyone else still has Top Gun memorized...)

My ds12 is quite a climber and he's has earned the title of "monkey" in our family as well. But, we are like you guys M, it is a term of endearment.

We are so un-PC, I guess.

I doubt that. What happened is you were linked to a graphic on someone else's site (known as 'hot-linking'). They probably have it set up so if that happens, they swap out the graphic to another one (like photobucket does when there are too many people accessing a graphic).

A lot of people, myself included, don't like it when people link to graphics on their site because it costs bandwidth. (Some people will even be malicious and swap out the graphic for an obscene one).

Full disclosure: I've only done that once when I found out someone was using some artwork I created on their site and passing it off as their own. They ended up with a nice picture of Pam Anderson on their website for a few days until they caught on.

I owe you one. Some how that makes sense!!!:thumbsup2 What was with your security pop up yesterday????:confused3 Did you ever get all the suitcases back from there trip around the world.;) Are you interested on doing the mini meet with us in West Chicago???:confused3

Well...

... I forgot to mention (recant) that in addition to the bicycle accident - I was hit last August in Hawaii while driving the rental car - T-Bone style by what some say was an illeagle immigrant ... he ran a stop light 1 block away from the Honolulu Police station... as he drove off with me and others yelling to STOP.... several police gave chase. They later said they pulled over the wrong van when they were trailing the guy by no more than 30-40 yards. A cop had been watching off to the side as we attempted to resolve the situation normally... the cp didn't bother approaching to help until the guy DROVE off and we all started yelling at him.

Go figure.

I'm still not entirely certain how this will play out. I know my insurance will eventually pay off the claim to the rental car agency supposedly - and I should not have to pay a deductible since it is supposed to be an uninsured motorist... but for the moment (supposedly) my insurance comapny is processing it as a regular accident and asking me to front a deductible plus a small portion they won't cover .... SUPPOSEDLY.... and I'm doggedly refusing while trying to force them to to process it properly as an uninsured motorist claim with NO deductible. It's not the money - it's the idea - and the treatment of my rates over the long haul I'm concerned with.

I am not sure about uninsured motorisats but that is an idea to tell DS about it. Thanks for the tip Crash!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

Finally caught back up on this thread...still missed the last few pages of the last thread. Wish I had more time to read on the weekends....I'll have to go check those out later....

Mothers Day was great....the kids got up at 6:45 a.m. on their own and made scrambled eggs, toast, oatmeal and juice for my DW to have breakfast in bed....it actually turned out quite well and they were so proud of themselves. I couldn't believe they were up at 6:45 a.m. on their own-- I think that's earlier than they were up on Christmas morning!!

Congratulations to the new pirates who have secured reservations....I wonder how many more we'll get this week as people cancel to avoid losing their deposits. Thankfully, we've been PIF for a while.

Weather here's been a mixed bag....for the last three weeks, the weather's great during the week but on Saturday it turns cold and windy. They didn't cancel any games this weekend so had to freeze with temps in the 40's, cloudy and windy. Spring just can't catch-on permanently quite yet....we're expecting white fluffy stuff tomorrow...over a foot in the mountains and a flurries only down here at 5280....Unfortunately, our cold tends to spur more thunderstorms and tornados further East...

We're still planning our excursions as well. Mostly DCL excursions, with the exception of PV -- still waiting on the zipline confirmation. We'd also like to join the pirates at Cartagena, but will probably go ahead and book a DCL excurision as a back-up.

Just thought I would share pictures of the little gem I found while being a Pirate at WDW ...

Aye so they do have some things with me flag on it .....Guess I know have a watch to wear on the cruise ..LOL

pirate:

I plan to do some watch shopping on this cruise. The crystal on my Skagen Mickey watch cracked recently so I'm ready for a new Mickey watch!

I've just about decided that I will no longer leave my house. I'm going to stay in bed with my head buried under the covers. I can't catch a break.

This camping weekend was a series of set backs, one after the other. :sad2:

I'm just glad its over.

Monica-- you have more patience than me....I think I would've headed back home very quickly!

Question for those who are more technically adept than me....

My DW received a new MP3 player for Mother's Day...gave her old 256K one to one of my DS's. I tried to convert his DisneyMania 4 CD into MP3's, but all I get is a Flashplayer file. I can't even listen to the music on the CD on the computer.

Does anyone know how I can convert the songs to MP3 so I can add them to my DS's MP3 player?

Good Morning!

Just thought I would stop in and ketchup before we start our school day.

I am getting nervous for Sunday already - hopefully everyone can get in and no one has a problem getting the excursion they want! :wizard:

Today is cool and raining here in "sunny" California! By Wed. we are supposed to be to 88 degrees. I just wish it would make up its mind.

Have a great day!

Taken from a trip report on the WB:

We got to the port around 9:45am. DH stayed out with the luggage and a couple kids and I went inside. I got number 2. Once on board, we went straight to Palo's and got our brunch, no problem. The sailaway party was as usual. Ricky Kalmon is on tonight. The shows listed:
1) Welcome Aboard
2) Ricky Kalmon
3) Golden Mickeys
4) When Mickey Dreams
5) Kevin Johnson
6) Scott Record
7) Twice Charmed
8) Art of the Story
9) Los Caporales Festival Folklorico
10) Joey Fatone and Alphonso Ribeiro
11) Crew Talent SHow
12) Mike Super
13) Enchanted
14) Remember the magic

So I guess Joey is back on their cruise. No mention of Donny Osmond tho. BTW..I had to look up Alphonso Ribeiro..I had no idea who he was. He played Carlton banks on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

I OWE MY MOTHER

18. My mother taught me MEDICAL SCIENCE.
"If you don't stop crossing your eyes, they are going
To get stuck that way."

DS asked in all seriousness this weekend "Why do old people look like they are mad all the time? Why do their faces go down?"

I reminded him of grandma telling him not to make mean faces because it will freeze like that.

He totally bought it. :lmao: Until I started cracking up. Had to explain the aging process and the evil effect gravity has.
