Ouuuu, a real email form a DCL person:thumbsup2 I mean it did not start out with "Thank you for choosing DCL" or conclude with "we hope this information was helpful" and had real helpful information. This is the person that we all need to get to know.

This person will soon be fired for being helpful! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

REAL-LIFE PLANNING QUESTION:
(deserves its own post)

If we are signed up for the group Wenches Palo Tea (and Speedo Parade Viewing) then we don't sign up as individuals for the Palo tea on booking night, right??

I know Chris is organizing the Wenches Tea, so I'll PM her as well, but I know she's not here all the time, so I figured I'd ask how this has worked for other cruises.

I think I read somewhere awhile back that we should not reserve our own as they are using our ressie to do so as part of the group.

Actually, they probably put everything on hold whilst they were trying to get the Magic to sail to California before attending to our needs.

I say this because she responded to my email from yesterday already.

I sent her a copy of the permission I carry in my wallet and asked if that was sufficient proof of good-standing.

Here is her reply to my email:

Fr. Mike,

The card that you have supplied us is just fine. Thank you very much.

As far as the cost for the microphone, I do apologize that you were given that information. However, we do not charge for the use of either the mic or the tech. That is all covered under our Entertainment costs for you. AND we will still reimburse you for the cost of the Mass supplies.

The ship has not yet determined the schedules for the return sailing from Los Angeles at this date. Once that has been determined, I will be sending you an itinerary, and it will detail the times & locations of masses for you.

In the meantime, please let me know if you have any questions.

THANKS!

Wow! That is a very nice response. Way to go DCL!!!

From Brian Sullivan's Blog

We had a tequila tasting to get to, so we freshened up and and went to Diversions. The tasting was sold out - they were turning people away at the door. We had a lovely representative from Cervo/Don Julio who gave us a history of tequila and all the different types of tequila. We had shots of Don Julio Blanco, Don Julio Reposado, a traditional margarita, and a pomegranate margarita. Had a great time there, and booked another tasting for tomorrow.

***Everyone who is interested in attending Mass onboard***

I have a list of people who have volunteered to participate in the Masses on the Pirate Zone website.

We have 3 servers, 2 readers, 2 Eucharistic Ministers, and 1 Singer/Cantor. If we have one more server volunteer, we can have 2 servers at each Mass. We will need a couple more readers as well. TIA!!!

Also, someone gave me a really good idea about advertising Mass times and locations, in the event it is not listed in the Navigator. She suggested we list them on a sign to put on our doors. I thought that was very clever, so I wanted to share it with all of you.

Are we the only ones wearing speedos:confused3 Where is all the other swabbies? Remember this is our big (or little) chance to provide some entertainment for the Wenches.

Size (of the Speedo that is!) does matter.

Good morning everyone!

I don't think I own a speedo. Is it mandatory?

Yes! Just ask Earl.

I think I read somewhere awhile back that we should not reserve our own as they are using our ressie to do so as part of the group.

That's what I thought, but I wanted to make sure. This will be my big chance for Tea. DH doesn't want to go.

So, this is why we are scheduling private tastings, right?

Happy Wednesday everyone! Guess what!

PIF!!!

Is it just me, or are others upset about the price of postage going up yet again?

When does it go up? I've been meaning to stock up on Forever stamps. Am I too late?

Per DCL, they prefer you to have your own ressie, then they will transfer it to the group one. However, last year I was not able to secure my own brunch or tea ressie, but had no problem participating in the group ones.

Now why DCL would want us to hog up ressies is beyond me.

Wait. They will tell you when you are going to do mass? Sounds like she thinks they hired you. Does that mean they are paying for your cruise too?

Zipadee Doo Dah Tip for Today:

Remember to actually bring your children with you on vacation.

Well, I guess that's just the "hassle free" way!

Well, I guess that's just the "hassle free" way!

i prefer to think of May 19th as my "Hassle ME" date with DCL.....

BTW I'm officially a jolly-pirate

"Greetings from sunny Aruba!

Thank you for your reservation, credit card information and interest in our
fun ship!

Your reservation is confirmed for 2 guests for August 28, 2008. "

BTW DH is coming too.... He may even snorkel with us if the water is calm enough that day...

Hmm now just have to PIF so that i have transportation to Aruba....:goodvibes

OK Jolly pirates... Are we all taking taxis to the pier?

I'm thinking it would be great to go over as a group on the public bus. (ie Way cheaper and means more money for other stuff on the TOAL)

Deanna,

This is great. I'll start working on songs and music. I already looked up the readings for those days. My daughter serves but she says she would only participate if there would be another female server.
