wow, that's a lot of rooms! Hey everyone check to see if you got room numbers and/or upgraded! LOL

Have those people who have gotten room assignments been assigned cabins in their category or are upgrades being doled out?

We're still GTY - which I'm assuming is a good thing at this point....

My understanding is that upgrades are doled out based on:
1. Date of reservation.
2. # of cruises taken
3. Amount actually paid.

(I think I read this last year on the Med cruise threads).

Unfortunately, things are not as good this year as then. Last summer I had booked on day 1, had paid the same as all the other cat 12's, and was on my 5th cruise or so.

This year I'm booked on day 1 - but so is most everyone else (do they take time into account? I was booked in the first hour).
Amount paid will almost certainly be less than people booking after.
# of cruises is about 6, which is ok.

So I'm hoping, but am not particularly optomistic about my chances....

Yes quite a few GTY's assigned today,

Upgrades, is just down to DCL operational reasons and there isn't any rhyme or reason to it.

Well up at 5.a.m. and managed all excursions and thought I had palo brunch but double checked this morning and no it has gone and nothing at all for brunch. But the good news is we are no longer gty and now have 7066 which is not a bad catch I think and there are rooms now available on the site.

Will have another go for brunch but if not there is always our balcony or topsiders.


We are now ready to go.

Not sure what you mean but online check in page loads for me with all the links there to click to fill out forms or download PDF and all that. is that what you mean?

I was gonna fill it out but it asks for ID (and passport is the only choice ofcourse) but then asks for id #- which I guess means a passport has a number but we have the passports in our firesafe in the bedroom and I can't go in there and wake Jeff up. so I'll have to do the online check in some other time. LOL

Good Monday Morning Everyone!

Has anyone got any sleep last night or this am? I finally was able to get some sleep at 3:47AM. I got all but one excursion we wanted(the Natural Pool in Aruba) so we are heading for the beach that day. Also was only able to get a Palo dinner we really wanted a brunch but maybe one will come up later.

Well I was up at about 5 a.m. and got all the excursions sorted out but inspite of it saying there was brunch available it has disappeared. We decided against the excursions in Aurba and are going to do our own thing and have hired a car. Rather fancy the donkey sanctuary and the caves and will just see how time goes. Trouble is I am now so excited I want to get packing and with the stateroom number already now all set to go.

Well.. I finally got all the excursions!
Well not ALL the ones we wanted- the evening horseback in PV wasn't showing available and I didn't even attempt for palo brunch or tea or any of that- and some of the excursions didn't work out (with the times) AND I am still gonna work on what we're doing in cartegena..... (hopefully Jeff can scuba dive there because it sure didn't work out at any other ports! and I can go to the pool/beach with the "gals" hehe) but I did finally get it done.

Only took 4 and a half hours. LOL Okay okay so really I took a little break from it because it was getting on my nerves. WHY do they have to make it so difficult? it would really help if there weren't so many steps to have to wait for the page to load for each individual excursion or to even see what TIME the exursion is- it would help a lot if they'd list the times it "might" be available on the excursion page. geesh


DH & I are doing the B.O.B. underwater adventure in Cabo San Lucas-even though it's over at 12:45pm we couldn't book anything else like with the kids or something. we'll go get them off the ship and do SOMETHING (shopping or something? so they can atleast say they were there LOL)

in PV we're all doing the signature dolphin swim.... and Ruby is doing the teens cruise that night. We're booked for the rhythms of night excursion but I don't know if we'll keep that. for a few reasons but mostly because I'm not sure how we'll get Ruby to the teens cruise excursion when our night excursion starts before hers. Not sure how that would work.

Acapulco we're doing the city tour w/divers- ofcourse.

Aruba we're doing Jeff/robert sea trek & Depalm island- us girls are doing the DePalm Island and so we'll meet up there at the island and waterpark. LOL

and CC Jeff is doing rugby game, I shall be watching him at said game- and this will be our first time to go to the adult beach. I'm sure we'll spend a good portion of the day at the family beach and snorkeling and stuff with the younger two- like we did last time. Ruby is signed up for The Wild Side and Banana Boat ride... her first time at the teen beach.

And hopefuly at Cartegena I'll be doing the Las Americas pool and Beach getaway and hopefully Jeff will get to scuba dive. Otherwise he's just gonna have to "pretend" that the BOB underwater adventure and sea trek excursions are "the same as" scuba diving. LOL


Busy busy busy and gonna cost a fortune. Better scrimp and save for all of this. LOL Atleast we're keeping busy and not just "shopping" at each port- which could end up costing more than excursions if we did that. LOL

What's everyone else doing? I wonder who DID get Palo brunch since everyone posted they couldn't get it! LOL what was there only like openings for a few people or what? LOL

I'm still listed as a Cat 9 GTY this morning, but then I did book rather late. And the site just showed Cat 4, 6, 7 and 10 available.

Good morning everyone...............hope everyone got at least some sleep and was able to get back into the site and get what they wanted. It took me about a half hour after I got booted out to get back in but once i did it went fine, just slow. Took alot of patience. We are signed up to do Cabo - Beach (on our own), P. Vallarta Pirate Boat sail, Acapulco, city tour w/divers, cartegena, Mangroves tour, aruba, sail N snorkel and the rays at castaway cay at 10am!
The only thing I was not able to secure last night was Palo tea, got brunch and dinner only not on the days that i had hoped for.

My group reserved 15 palo brunches and dinners.... NOT! But if I did then that would contribute to a lack of res slots being open, eh?

I took a monster Ibuprofen and my head is still pounding. And I wasn't even the one booking!! I just felt so bad for all of you.
But it does seem like it went a little better than it did for the May group.

I agree, about a month ago I read through the thread from the May peeps booking night and it was BAD!!!! I do remember reading that several people gave up and went to bed, then when they got up in the morning they were able to get almost everything. So while I was a little worried last night, I tried to remember that.

They're keeping him overnight with IV antibiotics. He has the same MRSA staph infection that Jared and I both have had. They even did a CAT scan of Dad...I guess it's a lot more dangerous in older people and they said his diabetes can affect it too. I'm sure he'll be fine.

Morning Everyone!!! yeah right!!

Is anybody having problems getting into their reservations? I have been kicked out so many times. Now trying to get back in it is saying system error or someone else in my party is on. Well I am the only one still on, my sister reenieny finally went to bed. I am on my second pot of coffee!!!

I hope some of you got the excursions you wanted. I am still trying!!!

Hope it worked out for you, Karen. I had the same story as everyone else . . . told not paid in full, couldn't log back in for ages, got error messages, etc. However, about 2AM everything just became easy and by 2:30 I had gotten everything I wanted except for Palo brunch (did anyone get that?) and a cabana massage (but I will try for that on the 5 night when it opens for the 90 day mark).

Calming down now. I did ok with ressies (except for tea).
Gonna go to sleep now.
