So, I was sitting at my desk and suddenly there was this loud rattling sound - a low vibration and what sounded like wind. I opened the window - big mistake. The lights went out. There was this giant roar. I staggered backwards as a giant funnel cloud entered the room with the force of an F5 tornado and siphoned money from one of my credit cards. I reached forward to grab it, but it was too late - the funds were gone.

Still dizzy, I'm even now struggling to catch my breath. I know I may never recover from the trauma of the experience, but I know that time will heal this. Time, and the sure knowledge that I am now paid in full.....

And winner for the best PIF description goes to ... danfromca. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

LOL!
I went thru the same sort of situation today.. we're paid in full as of today also! :) :)

Ofcourse we have to pay the credit card off but we can pay most of it now and if DH keeps getting overtime like he has lately- we'll have it paid off soon. *fingers crossed*

Actually it's pretty simple when dealing with credit card companies. Just figure out what would end up costing you the most - that's what the credit card company will do.

CONGRATULATIONS-1.gif

to Dan for the pirate: and for all now PIF!!!!! (BBB, I thought I had your quote selected as well)

G'mornin' pirate:s

Well I do not feel as bad now. DS has gone all year with out any patches either for Cub scouts - He crosses over this month to WEBLOs so I will put these patches on the new shirt. Heck he only wore this shirt for a few times....

My kids still have their Alaska council strips & old pack numbers on their shirts.

Pretty dress Debi. I haven't even started shopping yet for my dresses.

Don't bother. Everything is ugly.
Or maybe that's just me.

We seem to have a lot in common! :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

My biggest problem with cooking is that if things have to cook a while, I tend to get bored and wander off! I have managed to have ALL the water boil off pasta  This is the main reason I like my Desperation Dinners cookbook. Everything in it can be made in about 1/2 hour and there isn't any waiting around time. It always has instructions something like - "as the meat is defrosting, chop 1 onion and 1 green pepper" - and the timing always works out just about right! I finish the job and the microwave beeps :rotfl: The authors don't assume that you remembered to take the meat out the night before and some recipes even suggest substitutions if you are missing an ingredient. I swear this book was written for me!

DS9 just got his cubscout Bear badge and we have a bunch of "segments" from this year AND last year - none of it has been sewn on yet. I only sew the main badges that go on the shirt - the segments and other stuff gets badge-magic-ed onto the fabric (and that only happens about once per year).

Picture of the day.

Awwww.
I bet my dog would bark at the screen if I showed it to her.

Huh. When we were there we were able to use our Tricare at a civilian doctor. Of course it was 10 years ago. And we lived way outside the beltway (Haymarket). You can't go to a civilian doc any more?

Not if you live in the "catchment" area - I think 25 miles from a medical center. We're about 2 miles from Fort Belvoir, so we're stuck. We actually
chose our house in FL based on living outside the area. I had one baby in a military hospital & I wasn't going to do it again.

Luckily, my health insurance is covered by my employer, so I only have to deal with this for the kids. They are pretty healthy, so it isn't really worth the out of pocket expense to put them on my plan.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: DH loves doing this too. Yet more to discuss at the Interchangable Sk8ingmom-Esteri family table. Our kids are going to feel like instant siblings.

Hmmm, Maybe we have a way to pay for TOAL! A cookbook. In the Galley with Mickey: Secret Recipes from DCL's Kitchen.

I had a similar experience last night - only it was for 2 seasons of travel hockey. :sad2: We know th ice and travel are going to be $$, but we also realized last night that our first chore is to buy $600+ worth of clothing for 2 growin boys! (2 jerseys each and a warm up suit)

Yay you!

Been waiting for airfare to come down. Took over 2 hours to get all the flights booked. Phila to Lax, MCO to Phl, Aruba to Phila. 17 flights and $5,000 later. Eight people plus our son the minister can't miss three Sunday's so he's flying home from Aruba. Who would have thought That a 15 day cruise would have 3 Sunday's Never dreamed when I booked the cruise. Thank goodness I didn't have to pay for the cruise, Isn't DVC great. Makes me appreciate the Vacation Club. All the flights to LAX are non stop It was only about $500 more. Well worth it no missing connecting flight or lossing luggage. For the first time in years we decided to buy insurance $636 to protect the 2,565 points and $350 to protect the flights. Would you believe it was more money for being over 62 maybe they're afraid will die before the cruise.

How did you get that, without him (her) running away?? That's very cool. But I look at it and get the feeling it's about to pounce.:scared:

The Raleigh dog was outside going crazy at something making some weird noises. It sounded like some tropical bird so I went out to see what it was. About 25-30ft up in our trees I saw that it was this crazed squirrel. He/she was sitting up there looking at us. So I went inside to grab the camera. Shooting conditions were terrible since the sun was directly behind the tree.

And you too BBB (I lost the multi quote)

:dance3: pirate: :dance3:

In the midst of all the fluff that Roger was posting trying to get another pirate:, question was raised if we wanted to pick a day and everyone try for Palo brunch that day when we are booking on the 19th, that way we would have a bunch of pirate:s together for the same brunch (affectionately called a "couples brunch" although this should by no means be viewed as a disinvitation to the solo cruisers).

There is a planning board thread here to discuss, complete with a poll for which day would be best.

If she has her sewing badge, shouldn't she do it??? The night I was to bridge, I came down with the chickenpox and barely remember anything. Never did make it to a GS meeting after that.

Cheers!
You know I am not sure. I do know I want to avoid the hospital bill that would come from Megan with a needle or God forbid- hot glue gun. :rotfl2:

I wrote that cookbook name down and will be checking it out on our every Friday trip to Barnes and Noble. :thumbsup2

:)

When I was 18..I worked in a flower shop..I decided on my birthday..I would send my Mom flowers as a "thank you". 24 years later....I still do it every year. She always seems surprised but I would think after 24 years.."How could she be?" :confused3

I think that is called Mom Magic. :wizard:

LOL remind me- what time is it that we can start booking online?

For us in the Lone Star State it would be 11:00pm on May 18th.
