Hey!! That's MY Mini!! Actually, I don't have one yet. And mine will be blue. They are a blast to drive and quite a change from the Yukon XL. Really want to get one soon with gas as high as it is!

Hi

I need your opinion...I am really debating of bringing my laptop.. the major reason I am bringing it to make it easier to just download my pics..

Do you think this is a good buy.. so I will not have to bring my laptop.

or do you know of something else I could get instead...

We were looking at this but our camera card is sandisk extreme III compact flash

A friend of mine haqs one of these. He's happy with it and it is a god mass storage device - but very specialized. I would prefer to bring a notebook or a spare super hi cap cad or two. Of course, what you do depends upon your storage requirements over 15+ days. I have an Epson P-1000 which was picked up for a song and soft shoe dance. I don't use it much on account of the clumbersome and slow processing. Plus the thingwon't handle files larger then 6MP! Arrrrgh! So... even though I'm shooting 6mp with my DSLR it runs soooo slow. And my pocket digicams shoot 8MP! Oh well.

If I were you I'd lug the notebook... you can do soooo much more with it. And besides - you already have it - so if only you can swing it - that's the question....???

Good news! Sarah did indeed make the team again. :cheer2: :cheer2: In fact, she was the first one called when they announced the team. So she was really really happy. The tryouts lasted about 2.5 hours longer than we expected so it was a long night and she was pretty nervous. She is really excited about the new coach and her new team. It was fun bringing the girls home as they were so relieved and excited!

Thanks for the well wishes everyone!

This is pretty typical of what it looks like in the LA basin most of the year. That is why we live outside (north) of this. Not to say we don't get smog, just less than living in this all of the time.

And this is what it might look like on a GOOD DAY!
< above >
Below is a common ugly sky day in the LA basin.

A sightlike this below is fairly uncommon in the summer. However, during periods with Santa Ana winds - a view like this below is possible IF large fires have not erupted! Well... maybe without the snow in the mountains - that is.

Oh and Crash - when I read for fun it tends to be Sci-Fi / Fantasy, we we'll have something to share (provided it's not on my phone!) :rotfl:
.

The book sounds cool. I may try to catch up on it & we can have a DIS Book Club meeting in the Cove Cafe one day. pirate:

I'm also a sci-fi/fantasy reader. I'm figuring on bringing along a couple of books that look interesting and leaving them for others, so I guess I should go sign up for the great book swap.

Why don't we have a book smiley? I could really have used one for this post.

I am sure to have a couple of mysteries with me... James Patterson, Stuart Woods, hopefully there will be a new Janet Evanovich. I am trying to read Caribbean by James Michener, but not sure if I will bring it or have it finished by then. Not much time for reading at home (too busy with the DIS board:lmao:). I hope there are some others who want to trade mysteries. Just not into Science Fiction/Fantasy, although that is what DDs and DH read. I think I am the only person in the world who has not read any of the Harry Potter books.

I love mysteries and LOVE, LOVE Janet Evanovich books.
I also LOVE LOVE the Harry Potter books but probably will not bring them.
I am probably going to bring The Nanny Diaries. I read it on my last cruise and it was perfect summer vacation reading.

I'll have stuff to swap...

Not!!!!

Yes Crash, it makes a lot of sense. I am in the midst of attempting to make a career change ... field will stay the same, "scenery" needs to change. We are also selling our house and looking for a new one. I had a conversation with someone today and they said, "Why a job change now." My response, "Because it's time." Then they asked, "Why sell your house NOW?" I said, "Because it's time." I can't give any more substantial answers than that, I can't make anyone else understand what's in my "gut". I was also asked what a deal-breaker would be for me accepting a new position ... I said, "not getting the time off for TOAL". :)

So, I too encourage others to do what's "right" for them and phooey on anyone that doesn't understand the "why now".

~Kandi

Someone once quipped to me ...

"whatever you're doin' is the RIGHT way to do it....

and that's that!"

As far as I am aware its one of each, only and the Westbound was one of each only, even if you book the Palo private dinner area, they cross refer that and you have to cancel any other online booking, ie private brunch, can have another brunch online.

Thanks Andrew.

I would be very surprised if they changed it, there will be so many repeat cruisers on our cruise, the slots will go fast, and it would need them to reprogram me there computers, and it would effect the bookings at 75 days,

The Cat 1/2/3 can tell us tonight when they get to their 105 days mark, of course those wanting to go more than once can arrive at port early and make a request

If you miss it on the main forum:-

Regarding your questions;
The fort will open from 9:30am to 06:30pm, the foot bridge is opened about 09:15 am. cost about 3USD (35 pesos to be exact)

For the cliff divers, look at the ship arranged tours and any of them mentioning cliff divers on the tour will have a private dive arranged, I am assuming that as soon as the ship arranged tour leaves, that they will start having shows since they will have a big group leaving to see the show. The tour operator does not share this information so people will book tours, but once the tour start they will have one show every 35 minutes till the city tours end, i recommend going to the first show in the AM with the city tour group.

The flea market usually starts opening their shops from 09:00 to 10:00 am. regardless of a ship in town.

At this point I have not received bookings for the 2010 season yet, I hope they will decide to pick us again, the latest bookings I have from any other cruise line is may 2010, (Princess,Celebrity and a small cruise line)
