On another point ...

I just ordered a custom made Bobble head doll of Alicia for chuckles...

When Jon and my DB were in Hong Kong a couple of years ago (DH goes every year for an International Leather show) they had bobbleheads made of themselves....... Now that's weird. ;) :rotfl2:

I remember when I was a kid it was very cool that the albatross in The Rescuers had my grandpa's name (yup, Orville). My kids thought it was cool that Bruce the shark in Nemo has the same name as their grandpa.

When i was a kid - I thought it was cool that I was part of Peter Pan and that I went to Jimmy Cricket's (a private school Pre-K to Gr2). Just had to have my picture taken with Jimmy Cricket last August in AK.

I'm the only person on the DIS who doesn't know who these people are. I'm always amazed by all the people who seem to become BFF with their servers, stateroom attendant, CD, etc. in 7 days or less.

I guess we're just not friendly. :upsidedow

Us either....... Even on the 10nt...... I don't think I ever even saw our stateroom attendant! LOL! Although our servers were great -- one of them (it was a she.....) brought the kids cute little gifts in one of the ports. She had gotten off the ship to call her 9dd back at home.

Kim-
I am pretty sure it is a TX law at least. You are not actually considered enrolled until you show up the 1st day. I have that confirmed by 2 separate principals in N. Dallas area and another in Abilene.

Thanks, Coral. That's good to know. I need to email our principal this summer and remind her of our travel plans so I'll ask her about it at that time.

Dictionary: May Day
n.
May 1, observed in the United States, Canada, and parts of Western Europe in celebration of the coming of spring.

Just sitting here in Denver watching the snow come down.:scared1:

Happy Is It Really May Day!!:confused3

At least you don't have to worry about anyone robbing your house while you are gone and stealing all your stuff. You have it all with you!

To be fair, four of those bags were from my parents who joined us on the trip. However, that was our first cruise and my DW follows the Boy Scout motto of "Be Prepared" for anything!

We are Cat 11 GTY. We will be singing "Oh, elbow room, elbow room......got to, got to get us some elbow room."

Yeah, be sure to let us know how that whole manifest destiny thing works out in a stateroom.

And I still dont have a cruise packet , maybe they dont want me to go :confused3

pirate:

I keep checking just to make sure I still have a reservation. I still don't have anything either.

Got a new response to my letter to DCL last night :sad2:

My DH went to break the news to the Principal (think hag) yesterday. She certainly did not disclose to him that the rule was you are not enrolled until you show up. But, I still feel very confident that she was just trying to be a pain. She gave him a big song and dance about how important school was etc. Like we do not know that. :sad2:
DD has never missed a day of school- period and her lowest grade on her report card ever is a 96. This does not sound like a kid that will have a problem missing the 1st week of school.
Bottom line is it is the rule but the principals sure do not want to admit it.

Whiskey

Foxtrot

They are going to announce the dining/entertainment schedule a week after just about everyone on the ship can book Palo, etc.

Nice.

Anyone else beginning to think that this is their way of trying to avoid the mad rush to the site at midnight 5/19??

Hello Everyone,
I haven't been around much but for good reason. My Mom came for a visit and just left the other day. My FIL is coming for a visit this Friday. I played around with my new camera and took GREAT pics. but deleted all by mistake.:scared1: Although I was sad it happened I am glad it happened now and not on the TOAL.

I finally just finished my fish extender. I didn't sew it and hope it will hold up. May not be completly straight........:lmao: but I like it. I put red sparkle discs on the nose.

Hey..............what a great job!!!:cool1: :cool1: You are very creative!!:goodvibes Hope all is going well for you and Chuck!!!

Hey i like it.... Looks much better than my pile o' fabric sitting in a bag next to my bed upstairs.....

Well Pirates... I didn't think i could do it... but

i cancelled my dd's plane ticket to CA..... (i did apply it to purchase 2 tickets home for dh and i though; before the new baggage fees go into effect)

I'm still sad though a little that she's not going...

Of course what's worse...going and being a little sad or taking her with and chancing that i'll tear my hair out the whole time....:headache:

We pretty much won't see her all summer as she's going to GS camp for a month in July. (we'll only see her on Saturday nights)

I feel bad for you!! I bet you feel worse than your daughter does.:sad2:

Oh look.....PIF!

Dance Banana! Dance!

Wonderful feeling wonderful day!!! :thumbsup2 :dance3: Do you know what song and Disney movie that is from:confused3 I hope it stays in your head like Small World Song!!:lmao: :lmao:

You probaly won't even notice............how much time do you really plan on staying in your room anyway? :rolleyes1

:goodvibes

Congrats, Joel. I wonder if DCL is getting worried about all the PIF's? I guess we'll find out soon if their passenger list is really messed up. Either a whole bunch of cabin will come available or they'll be trying to make deals with people not to go.... What with the overselling at the beginning and them sending out cruise packets to people who had cancelled their ressies......

Good morning everyone....:goodvibes

I have a friend I met and cruised with in Aug. 06 and she is still trying to get a cabin. Luck of the draw, when someone cancels and if you happen to be on the phone you can get a cabin. No deal could be that good for me to cancel this trip !!!:goodvibes

Only 18 days til booking day.

:woohoo: :woohoo:

Sorry about the sn*w, yep that's one thing I don't miss.

The CM who plays Jack heard you were coming back and threatened to mutiny if you cruised again

I believe there is some truth to this.:lmao: :lmao:

We might not even bother with making Palo reservations till after the announcement of theme nights. I hate having to worry about changing them afterwards or wait till on ship to try and change.

Hi Cheryl: Chuck is filling out lots of applications for around here. I am afraid it's getting to close to TOAL for him to ask for time off at new job. Our Ins. is continued through Cobra. Like 750.00 a month !!! Yikes..........Chuck said no way could we take the chance because of me.:rolleyes1 Jeez

Had to edit.............thought you loved the snow Cheryl !!! lol

Well April ended poorly for Lisa. When I went to pick her up she was holding up her hand. The Coaches thought she might have broken it on her vault. I took her to an after hours clinic and they took 5 x-rays. They don't think it is broken (YEA!!!). It is currently splinted and she will just condition and do what she can do with the use of one hand for the next few days. Then hopefully on Monday she will be back on track. With Nationals a few weeks away - the timing stinks. Hopefully she will beel better soon.

I agree and if I don't get private dining room I might not even go to Palo's.

I told you we paid $900 for Cobra 13 years ago just for JOHN!! It is a lot of money but so are hospital bills!!!( you know that from past experience too)

Had to edit.............thought you loved the snow Cheryl !!! lol

Oh yes............I am wishing for s*** through the end of May.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao::rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

If I Had $1000000

...I'd be rich!

OK, I just had to explain the whole emu, llama, gnu (oh my) evolution to DH. Throw in a few barenaked ladies and he really got confused (yet interested). "No really, honey, it makes sense on the boards..."

What happens on the boards, stays on the boards. If he wants to know, he'll have to keep up. :happytv:

I have the Schoolhouse Rock DVD box set! It makes me happy.

We have it too - DD4 knows most of the songs, and I'm really ticked that I didn't get the CD set when it was out. I thought it was a lot of money at the time, but now it sells for 3 or 4 times that amount on e-Bay... Oh well.

The CM who plays Jack heard you were coming back and threatened to mutiny if you cruised again

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
and be thankful that you're allowed to stand up on the Magic - unlike the POTC boats...
