Okay, men, be honest.

If you were around in 1919 (just before prohibition started) and came upon the following poster.........

Would you quit drinking?

I'm drinking now, just to help out those guys from 1919. :scared1:

the luggage scares me too! was there some rule about kids and booster seats? i'm wondering if i need to bring one for my 5 yr old ds?? can anyone help me out with this? we'll be flying into long beach...and staying at hojos. plan to take supershuttle or similar to get to hojos. then we plan to use the dis bus to get to the port. here in NY he is still required to be in a booster seat...but i know that other places are different. where should i look to find out about this?

this just made me LOL!

the law here is 6 years, 60 pounds

It's not a stupid question at all.

It means "Travellers owe a lot". It's based on one of the highlights of the cruise - the final evening standing in line at guest services when you are handed a 20 pound stack of paper and get to express one of the traditional expressions:"
"Wow, I had that many chocolate smoothies?"
"[DS]!!!, You spent $500 on video games!?!?!?"
"If only there was another day of Bingo..."

Some anthopologists suggest it means "Trip of a lifetime", a variation based on the fact that it generally takes a lifetime to pay off the credit card debt incurred during the cruise.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

how do i find out about buses/taxis and stuff like that though? we didn't take a booster last time we went to wdw, cuz we used magical express. i'd hate to lug one with us, if it can't be used...but i don't want to be without it if we need it.

I'm the only person on the DIS who doesn't know who these people are. I'm always amazed by all the people who seem to become BFF with their servers, stateroom attendant, CD, etc. in 7 days or less.

I guess we're just not friendly. :upsidedow

I'm the second only person. I'm very unfriendly. I scare people.
.

That's the referral -- from everyone on the Dis -- to a psychiatrist from a while back -- haven't you gone yet?

:rotfl: :rotfl:

I found this on another board -- I am pretty sure this is the place most of us are ziplining in Puerto Vallarta:

MONKEYS!!!!
Why, it is was one of the highlights of our entire cruise, just 2 weeks ago!
Yes, in Puerto Vallarta...at the end of our zipline excursion with Los Veranos...they had a couple of large walk-in cages full of monkeys...never saw any animal cuter in my life...alot of those were miniature monkeys (forgot what they're called) small enough to sit in the palm of your hand. The girl in charge there asked if we wanted to go in the cages with the monkeys, so yes, of course, my husband, 18-yr-old son, and myself were each given a bamboo container filled with (monkey food?) and were shut in the large cage. It was just us...they allow only 2-3 people in there at a time. So immediately upon entering, those monkeys were all over us...sitting on our shoulders and arms and feeding directly out of our hands. We must have taken 20-30 pictures just in there! Before we went in, the girl had us empty our pockets outside of the cage and we found out why...my husband accidently left his ship sea pass card in one of his velcroed shut pockets...well when we ran out of the food we took in there, obviously it wasn't enough for the monkeys, so one monkey opened my husband's pants pocket, reached in with his cute little monkey paw, and, before my husband had a chance to react, this particular monkey had the sea pass in his paw, brought it up to his cute little monkey lips to see if it was edible, and flung it across the cage when he discovered he couldn't eat it! Lots of fun!
This was a first for us....never before this have we had an opportunity to interact in this way with monkeys!
Definitely look into this one!

OH DS9 will be soooo excited! He loves monkeys.

Don't bother, I e-mailed back to DCL to ask where on the website I could find the info and got the truth, whole truth and nothing but the truth:

Ummm, you weren't asking about rotation. :confused3

Us neither. Guess we're just not "joiners". What I'm doin' here - I don't know...

Exactly. I think I'm friendly, I just don't meet people on vacation and become friends for life. My in-laws do.

Of course, this group is different, we've been friends for years at this point!

Personal Jinx!!

Nah. What'll happen is that we'll be walking arm in arm down the corridor with our DH's in our wake (where they belong :rotfl2: ) they'll look at each other and say "OMG, there are TWO of her!!" :rotfl:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Not to mention the tag-team mom possibilities. Our boys will be thrilled.

Put a drink in the corpse's hand too, please.

:thumbsup2 But of course. I'm less likely to look like I am double fisting if I have four fists to work with.

um, why is the clone trooper wearing a bib ?

Didn't you know that Wednesday is Lobsterpalooza in the Death Star cafeteria?

:rotfl: :rotfl: Hey, any excuse works.

the law here is 6 years, 60 pounds

Oh no... 6 years AND 60 pounds or 6 years OR 60 lbs.

I really have no interest in lugging a car seat for a 53 lb. 8 year old! Heck, DS9 is only 64 lbs.

:thumbsup2 :lmao: :lmao:

UPDATE: When the Excel energy guy came out to her house late last night, he discovered she'd lost nearly all of her power to her main breaker box. Thus, when she turned on a light, she'd get nothing, but when she turned on a major appliance, it attempted to pull more power and in the process something such as that light on the same circuit that required very little power such as a light would come on. That's at least the simplistic explanation he gave. He said this also happens fairly frequently although I had never heard of it. Good news/bad news is that they were able to run a main wire to her box as a temporary fix until they can get out and fix it. The bad news is that they won't be back out to fix it for 3 to 4 weeks. The good news is that she gets free electricity during that timeframe.

woo hoo, free electricity... leave the refrigerator door open.

Barenaked Ladies rule!!!

Ok, out of context...that could be .... nevermind

I saw the Barenaked Ladies in a club in Philly long before they had a record contract (circa 1993ish).

Emu!

how much do ya love barenaked ladies ?

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok....Wife is listening to the Chipmunks singing Linken Park and Afroman's "Because I Got High"..... Completely disrupting my DIS time.

seriously? that's not right... tell her to knock it off :rotfl2:

Throw my DS8 (to be 9 on TOAL) into mix, he didn't bring his homework home because the teacher didn't give them enough time to gather it up.....

throw my DS11 on the fire too. Sounds like the beginning of a rift in the space time continuum.

Laurie it is either C5 or C6, pain is under my shoulder blade (scapula) right. I feel sorry for anyone that has to go through this. I have taken to Motrin around the clock instead of as needed (prn). I think this is helping. :cool1: I really don't want to do a course of prednisone.
Ok one more piece of advice, promise, watch trying to reach for things over your head. Kinda a reflex movement (you'll just reach without thinking) and it can aggravate everything. My previous boss used to nag me about drinking lots of water with the motrin, but you would already know to do that right;)
I just ordered a custom made Bobble head doll of Alicia for chuckles...

... it won't get here in time for Mothers' Day ... so I was thinking of giving it to her on our TOAL...

... or I will save it to give her for ... gee ... I don't know know what?

Valentines' Day? ... or Christmas? Well... I'll figure something out...

... our anniversery will be celebrated on the TOAL... so maybe it will be given on the TOAL!?

She's sooo tough to buy for - this is definately something she doesn't have (yet)...
Crash I may try that as a gift for my DH as well. He is very hard to buy for too. I wouldn't like getting one for Valentine's day, but I get so little romance from my DH during the rest of the year that may affect my opinion:rolleyes1

Thanks to all for the BD wishes to my hubbie, Ron. The day did not end up as expected as when he went to shower for dinner (I was taking him out to a restaurant w/ the lads), we discovered that our 16+ YO water heater had died! So he and our youngest ended up spending until 2AM replacing it, and the BD dinner was take-out from Chicken Holiday! We'll do the cake and presents tonight! Gotta give him the excursion GC and the boys have pirate shirts for him!

Wow, sorry about your DH's b-day:guilty: Here's some more cake:flower3:
birthday-cake-thumb396675.jpg

She would have looked at you funny and asked "what is a pirate:?"

Only reason Darren knows is because a pirate run almost made me late for an appointment:lmao: He comes downstairs and goes "why are you still here?" I'd just got my one and only pirate:woohoo: He had a hard time understanding the significance:rolleyes1

Nope I don't know them either! We had an Australian guy as the CD on our 2006 cruise. I think his name was Andrew? Anyway everytime we ran into him I would yell something like "Hey it's him!" like he was a big star & he would just give a nervous little wave like I was some kind of stalker or something. Maybe because it sort of came out like "hey ithes shim" & I might've tripped a little, but geez no reason to be afraid! :rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
