Ok, I can make fun of myself.
I dye my own hair as I have paid over $150.00 before and left with orange hair!! :scared1:
I use whatever brand is on sale and that looks like the color I want. Well, Saturday night was "Get rid of the gray roots day". I woke up Sunday and thought it looked great. When my Dad and Miranda and I were driving to lunch my Dad says all the sudden "You know you have this big chunk of dark brown here" Pointing to the top, back, middle part of my head. I blew it off until I got home and got out the ole mirror. There is a HUGE section of my otherwise blonde head just as dark as can be. I mean so dark and long that I have not had that color since college. I have to have missed this spot for years. :rotfl2:
I asked Bill why he never mentioned it and, in typical male fashion- "I never noticed it before!".
Needless to say I am buying new hair color to get that chunk.

I think that's guy speak for: are you kiddin' me, telling you that you have a big chunk of dark hair is almost as bad as telling you that yes, you do look kinda' fat in those jeans. :rotfl2:

Just in from an email sent via Tardis from DCL

Disney Cruise offers free cruising for 2010

Disney Cruise line is pleased to offer the lowest rates of any cruise line. From now on, all passengers in all categories will travel for free!

However, due to continually rising fuel prices, Disney Cruise Line® is modifying its fuel surcharge.

The surcharge* is $580 per person, per day for the first two Guests in a stateroom and $530 per day for all other Guests (with an additional $100/day for each category above 12). It is effective for new bookings only made on or after May 28, 2010. Additionally, the surcharge will be capped at $15200 each for the first and second Guests in a stateroom and $12420 each (not counting the category surcharge) for all other Guests in the stateroom.

Travel Agents should implement additional procedures to ensure that they disclose the exact amount of the applicable fuel surcharge to Clients before they make a decision to book their FREE Disney Cruise Line vacation.

Yes, and I really try to be more understanding than my folks were. Ya know, the 'ole slap upside the head accompanied by the, oh so compassionate, "SNAP OUT OF IT" :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I see your parents took the same parenting class as mine did:lmao:

All I do is find the mapping to where my DH has copied the pictures. He puts them in these albums that confuse me.
Anyway when I have Photobucket open I just copy the file name in the "copy" area and voila! It's there. The good news is you can resize it when it is in Photobucket.

Thanks Coral:goodvibes

I love that pic of your family:thumbsup2
That was taken in Alaska right?

Oh yeah.... when the kids were in the fountain I pretended to be "the water monster" and chased the girls as I growled loudly... that is... until I inadvertantly FRIGHTENED a little 4 year old boy. He ran away from me crying to his parents! I felt really sorry so I immediately brought over a nestle Crunch Ice Cream bar which completely transformed his crying to bright eyed smiles. After that he was my pal following me as I chased after the girls through the fountain.

It was great meeting your family too Lisa. For some reason your brother reminds me of my cousin Paul. Same smile:goodvibes That photo of the kids came out awesome:cool2: I'm still waiting for Darren to show me how to load the pics from the camera to the computer. He may have finally caught that bug that was going around because he went straight to bed when he got home today:sick:

It really was a lot of fun. Muchas gracias to Lisa for suggesting it and setting it up:cheer2: :cheer2:

my little bro is pretty cool.
Tell Darren we hope he feels better soon !!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I see your parents took the same parenting class as mine did:lmao:

I give mine the wonderful...compassionate phrase.."Pull up your big girl panties and deal with it.." it embarrasses her so! My Mom even got me that on a shirt for Mother's Day last year..of course..my daughter has sworn to disown me if I wear it. Ahhh..parenthood!

I have been doing my hair for years now!! I never want to see the gray ever!!!!:scared1: I might start believing I am really old!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I once had a chemical reaction and ended up with green hair.:rolleyes1 It was not even near St. Patricks Day.:lmao: :lmao:

Adventures by Disney is running a sweepstakes for a chance to win an ABD trip to Philadelphia, Washington DC and Williamsburg.

Thanks .....just entered I would love to do a ABD but they are soooooo $$$$$. I can only afford one TOAL at a time.....

Kristina and Laurie - Wegmans, huh? Sounds good to me if they have wine!

The one near me (Fairfax) has their wine tastings on Saturday afternoons last time I checked. I can check the Dulles Wegmans tomorrow to see if they have a different schedule-that one is closer to Kristina too. Or we could try a Baltimore/DC spot for dinner for May 10th ?(saving Wegmans for a wenches only trip:confused3 we'd have to eat a lot of fruit tarts to offset the wine of course:rolleyes1 )

That is so fitting in my life right now. I am struggling with my DS16. He is so very smart, he has 6 of 8 classes that are honors classes including Honors biology AND honors Chem :scared1: and he has no study hall. He keeps having missing assignments and it is killing his grade. First semester, he did awesome, but now, he thinks school is boring and just doesn't seem to care. He is the most wonderful kid (besides turning in assignments). He helps out with my DD3 all the time, reading to her at night and getting her ready for bed. He helps his other siblings with their homework and all around, he is a fantastic kid. But he just doesn't seem to get it. And, he really wants to go to MIT, which he would have to be at the top of his class. There is no way that he will get in unless he knocks this off right now!

Sounds like my DS14 also:rolleyes:
Has he been to MIT yet for a visit? Maybe that would motivate him:confused3

I had sent an email to Guest communications a while ago about the ages of the kids in the clubs based on a post about them changing it for the summer

Here is their reply

Thank you for your e-mail.

We truly welcome your observations and suggestions on ways in which we
can improve our cruise experience, particularly your thoughts on The
Stack. Please allow me to explain that based upon feedback from our
guests, we plan to test utilizing the Ocean Quest space on the Disney
Magic as the base for the 11 to 13 year old age group this summer. /QUOTE]

Thanks so much for the update:thumbsup2
I'm glad they are trying something new so far in advance of our cruise. Hopefully they will know by July if it works or not. A lot will depend on the feedback they get from the early summer cruisers. I can't imagine that they would keep it in place for very long if the kids weren't happy with the new arrangement:confused:

M, please sign me up for one or two or 600 pages. You pick. B-ball has me spinning right now. I promise I'll get it done !! (really, I'm good for it)

Attention Journal Volunteers!
Nevermind. Lisa is going to make all the pages for us!

I always liked that scene from Rocket Gilbralter where the grand kids give the grand father the viking funeral. But I figure it'll be too hard for my kids to shoot flaming arrows at me while I'm drifting off to sea (then again maybe not). I always tell my kids that I really want to be cremated but if they just can't bring themselves to do it, just stick me in the ground 'cause after all I'll be dead & won't care. Pretty heady stuff for an 8 y/o and 11 y/o.
.

My kids might just off me for the opportunity to shoot flaming arrows!

I heard they were just going to weigh passengers when the got on the ship & then again on the last night of the cruise & charge a poundage fee.

:lmao: :lmao: Oh man am I in trouble. DH averages a pound a day on the cruise. I can't seem to convince him that just because food is always available doesn't mean he has to eat constantly!

I'm up for anything, but I can't really get anywhere until 6-ish. Kids have ballgames.

I don't know if there are any DIS Podcast listeners out there, but we lost a great DISer today, Bob (BAWB) Varley passed away today unexpectedly...

Very sad :sad1:

Well that's a bummer. Gotta love a guy who could laugh at himself.

I think that's guy speak for: are you kiddin' me, telling you that you have a big chunk of dark hair is almost as bad as telling you that yes, you do look kinda' fat in those jeans. :rotfl2:

Or, There was this HUGE hair on your chin I never told you about. :rotfl2:

Thanks Coral:goodvibes

That was taken in Alaska right?

Yep. My Mom had to get in the middle of the road right around the hairpin turn to take that picture. I was so worried she was going to be turned into a pancake. ;)

Wonder what they sold Alan's wedding ring for:sad2: Alan didn't even realize we left it at OKW until about 6 months later.
Oooh, that hurts:headache: I thought I lost my engagement ring many years ago and found it in the lining of a bag 2 years later (at WDW no less)

For those of you still debating about getting off the ship..................

This is a wonderful web site for Colombia. Laheroica

Check out the Lost City helicoptor tour. If it wasn't so darn expensive--that's how I would spend my day in Cartagena. Colombia actually looks like it would be a great place to do an extended vacation. Quite a bit to do and see there. Their houses (while expensive for just a couple) wouldn't be too bad with a group--all come with attendants. There are even private islands to rent. I tell ya, the more I research this port--I think it will be my favorite port and definetly a place to go back to. Rates on the hotels aren't to bad either. :goodvibes

Thanks Paula:thumbsup2 Great site:goodvibes

Allright! Confession time...I saw that the first season of Love Boat had come out and I bought it immediately! We have watched the first 5 episodes! All of us, even the teens. We get in full cheezy mode and laugh loudly along with the laugh track. It is a blast. I can't even believe that the kids will actually watch it along with me. The clothes, the dancing styles, the hair...makes some really goofy dorky fun!

Sounds like fun. I loved watching Love Boat as a kid.

Ok, I can make fun of myself.

The husband's guide to survival-rule one, when in doubt, play dumb:lmao:
Darren never notices anything either, not a haircut, makeup, nada

I've had too many bad experiences to color my hair myself, I just stick to the cheapest place I can go that does a decent job covering the gray:confused3

Nooooooo, you are supposed to spend the money in the US economy! ;)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I personally think that most people will use the money to pay off credit card bills for things they have already bought. So, I am not sure how this will work out. :confused3 :confused3

yes - I have been referring to it as my Mexican Stimulus Fund.

I don't know if there are any DIS Podcast listeners out there, but we lost a great DISer today, Bob (BAWB) Varley passed away today unexpectedly...

:grouphug: My prayers are with Bob's family tonight. How tragic.
