I'm here to tell you that you don't have to be married to apply that rule. Plenty of us single guys have learned the value of playing dumb! :)

It works at your place of employment too.

American said elite members of its frequent-flier programs, including AAdvantage Gold, AAdvantage Platinum and AAdvantage Executive Platinum, won't have to pay the second-bag charge. The fee also won't apply to full-fare economy, business and first-class tickets, or international trips beyond Canada and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
.

Sooo.... DH gets to have 2 bags and the rest of us just one..... I will have to plan very carefully.... I think we took 7 bags on the 10nt...... There are 5 of us.....

I may be the one of the few who actually likes this change. My DS will have just turned 13 and he has two years left before high school. I'd much prefer him to be in with the 11-13 year group as he tends to hang out with those younger than him anyway as he's one of the oldest in his class.

If my teenager was 13 (she's 17) I would prefer her to NOT be in the Stack.
I wouldn't want my 13dd to be with 17 yr olds.... Not that i think the 17yr olds will want to hang out with the 13yr olds! LOL! But, my teenager is tall (she has been around 5' 9" since she was about 13......) and so, she used to look like she could be older -- she doesn't now since she wears braces! LOL! For some reason other teenagers assume you are around 14 or 15 if you have braces (she didn't lose all her baby teeth until this past year....)

She'll get along great with my 10ds....we say that he is a 40 yr old man in a 10 yr olds body. :rotfl2:

GREAT! She has 2 teen brothers, so she is used to the boys! Are you guys going to DL beforehand? We will be get to DL starting 8/13. Staying at the DL hotel.

You know my issue is that we have 2 gynormous suitcases that we used for previous cruises. The problem with those is you have to be so careful with the weight limit. We are OK on this flight since we booked before the implementation date but I forsee a hassle ahead.

That is our problem, also. We made the mistake of buying the really good *spinners* and they are a little heavy empty.....I may have to buy a couple of inexpensive large suitcases.... It will drive dh crazy that our luggage won't match! :rotfl: :rotfl:

And if DS13 isn't able to go, DS16 won't go either because he is really quiet and shy! Hopefully they will cooperate on the ship. I am not going to worry about it.

He can get to know my really quiet and shy 17dd! For some reason DIsney brings out the personality in her (and her dad! LOL!)

I agree completely. We had the same situation when DD was 13 and 2 months. We went on a cruise and I was worried about the teen club. But, they had just opened Ocean Quest and the kids went there and loved it. So it is not a bad idea to keep the young teens separate. Or at least give them options!

Adventures by Disney is running a sweepstakes for a chance to win an ABD trip to Philadelphia, Washington DC and Williamsburg.

That is the trip that the kids and i went on this past August -- it is FANTASTIC!!! Friends that we met on the trip are coming here to visit this weekend -- they are Disers!

Roger, I was told to use cold packs to keep the inflammation down, but I also used the stick on heating pads during the day (just on the muscle) to relieve some of the pain. It does take a long time to heal. I had to sleep in a neck brace for a while because everytime I moved in my sleep it would hurt. Hope yours gets better soon:hug:

Thanks for the tip Laurie. I have been heating the muscles and icing my neck, maybe it is working. I don't like to, but I have been taking Motrin (Ibuprofen) fairly consistently. I just want to get back to normal. "Such a pain in the neck" :rotfl2:

If there was a contest on who gained the most on the cruise I'm sure I would win it:sad2: How can it take a month to lose 4 pounds and 2 days to gain it back:confused3 I must have a super slow metabolism:headache:

See I get that one because Darren hates mint and I love it:lmao:
I want to join in on this too. I have been good for the last 2-1/2 years with only small glitches at WDW and the holidays. I have really been making a big push since the first of the year. Now looking at your picture Laurie I think that I can take you in the first week. I now have a 10 pound cushion and I will still be in my ideal body weight range.

Hope your doing better Roger.

Wanted to ask you about sea sickness meds. Is there an newer alternative to scopalamine? Johnna will need something for the rougher days and I'd like to prescribe something beforehand. If you can recommend something I'd appreciate it.:)

Pete

Hi Pete

There are no new breakthroughs in the world of motion sickness. Cherie had a very tough time in 2005 off of Cabo (14 ft waves). She has since become a true believer in ginger. When we went to Alaska the next year we had purchased ginger capsules and took them prophylactically. She never had a problem. So your choices are scopalamine patch (can be sedating with dry mouth), Dramamine (dimenhydrinate) which causes sedation, Antivert/Dramamine Non-Drowsy (meclozine) probably the best choice with less sedation. Would not hurt to take along a couple of doses of Zofran ODT. I would recommend the ginger just because it is cheap and without side effects. It should be started 24 hours before departure. Hope this helps.

Thanks Roger, makes sense.

I haven't had problems with motion sickness, but for some reason I always get nauseus that first day on the ship, probably because I tend to chug that first bahama mama.:lmao: Anyhoo, there is no way I could eat anything with ginger in it, I hate the taste. So DH bought some ginger pills and I take those and it calms my stomach right down. When we had a rocky night in October our tablemates were getting queezy and I told them to order some gingerale from room service. The next night they thanked us because it really helped them.

I give mine the wonderful...compassionate phrase.."Pull up your big girl panties and deal with it.." it embarrasses her so! My Mom even got me that on a shirt for Mother's Day last year..of course..my daughter has sworn to disown me if I wear it. Ahhh..parenthood!

you know my kids remind each other that my greatest pleasure on this earth is to embarrass the heck out of them. To which I reply OF COURSE! :teeth:

When I called DCL a few weeks ago, they told me that I should call Super Shuttle to get to the port.

If I've booked that, do you think that is all right? or should I try to book a transfer with DCL? Now I'm confused. :confused3

Why don't you come on the "Pirate Bus"? There is already 150 of us on that. PM me if you are interested. I guess I should start referring to it as Buses as we have way too many people for one bus and we're possibly working on a third bus depending on numbers......

You know how radio stations trot out the dogs barking Jingle Bells every Christmas?

All I can hear in my head right now is pigs snorting the Chariots of Fire theme.

Oh man, now it's in my head too !!

Proven yet again....I can't be outsnarked!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

the snarkiest :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Seems the weight gain contest is on.
