We were looking at doing the dolphins/water park not with DCL in Puerto Vallarta. Is anyone else thinking of doing this? We are also going back and forth between the zip lines and catamaran in Cabo. Any opinions on that? I'm concerned about safety on a zip line in Mexico. I am also worried about mosquitos where the zip line is since my daughter is allergic to their bites. Thanks!:)

Bug spray is something we all should add to packing lists!

The dolphins/water park in Puerto Vallarta, gets very good reviews, better than Cabo, I havent been there myself but highly praised, Cici at Acapulco I can recommend from personal use.

E-mailed DCL. I tried not to ask for too much, just some indication of when formal, semi, and pirate night will be so I can think about when to book Palo
Here is the oh-so-helpful response:
Dear Michelle,

Thank you for choosing a Disney Cruise Line Vacation!

Regrettably at this time we are feverishly working on the dining theme
nights for the Eastbound Panama Canal cruise.

We greatly appreciate your understanding. Please feel free to check back
with us as the deadline gets closer.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further
assistance in planning your visit, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to sailing with you! Have a Magical Day!

As a former communication professor and admitted word nerd, I would like to point out that she regrets they are working feverishly. Not that she doesn't have an answer, but that they are working.

Isn't that one of the signs of the apocalypse?

The only problem that I can see is that you won't be able to enjoy the water park that is there. The excursion for the EB cruise is only 2.5 hours
Starting times that will be available are 7am, 8:15am and 9:45am

So is anyone doing the Dolphins in Cabo without DCL ????

Have you tried contacting them directly about it?

I emailed them in December and they told me that DCL had booked up all the available spots during the time that the ship will bein port. They also said that I would be better off booking it through DCL because if the ship doesn't make it into port for some reason I would receive a refund. If there was availability and I would book it through them directly and the ship didn't make it into port they wouldn't offer a refund

Here is their refund and cancellation policy from their site
Cancellations and Changes: Once you receive a confirmation your reservation is guaranteed. In order to maintain our commitment to all of our guests Cabo Dolphins operates a strict cancellation policy:

48 hours or more prior to excursion date - 100% refund
24 hours prior to excursion date – we will accept date changes but no refunds
No shows or late arrivals – no refund

If you have contacted them and they have told you differently please let me know as we are going to try to book this through DCL

Got to say the Water park at Cici wasnt so good, so it isnt a problem missing, I went for the Dolphins which was very good indeed. Two pools and you swam in both, a big public pool arena and a smaller intimate one where pictures were taken.

I found it very good, lots of interaction not just one dolphin but many and as it is not in the sea you do not loose control like Cozumel or Costa Maya.

Safe for the kids.

Just how is everyone finding out times for the excursions? I've missed that part :confused3

I'm looking into a private dolphin watching/snorkel excursion in PV for my DD and I. DH and DS might be doing the zipline.

I am a travel agent and have been in contact with the excursion department at DCL as I have been trying to figure out which dolphin excursion we want to do and those are the times that she gave me for the Acapulco

In 2005 with more slots Cici sold out very quickly they went every hour from 9.00am and I got 2pm, the earliest slot possible.

I have a client that is doing the dolphin excursion on their own in Puerto Vallarta in early June. She will get back to me when they return to let me know how it went and how they liked it. I can report back then

One thing that I want to point out for others is that if have anyone looking to just be an observer the Dolphin options in Cabo do not have an extra fee for just being an observer because there isn't any transportation included. The Acapulco and Cabo locations do not include any food the one in Puerto Vallarta does in case that makes a difference for someone
