Happy Birthday and Anniversary to all we have missed

:grouphug:  pixiedust: and prayers to everyone who is going to need it today

:welcome: aboard to all the newbies

Have a great Saturday

I just tried calling BA customer service - I figure my spouse has me do ALL her "dirty work"... and today was no exception. I somehow get better results when she's already been denied. Today I sweet talked my way into what my spouse hoped for but was denied when she asked.

At any rate - our US BA office is closed as of 1AM Eastern standard time... so I'll try again after 4AM my time cuz thier offices will reopen at 7AM EST. I'll get you ONE opinion Andrew because I am curious as to what they'll tell me.
:thumbsup2
Our meals in ORLANDO have been ....

GOLDEN CORRAL
Boston Lobster Feast (OK)
Chick Fil-A
Puka-de-Uppa ... er, rather Buca Di Beppo
and otherwise we are open mided to try new stuff...

:thumbsup2

DRAT!

I was reviewing a newish ebay listing i made to sell some Laker playoff tickets - they're hott and potentially valuable - and I wuz thinking why we had so little hit activity after 2 days. So I tried searching as I might instinctivly do so - and noticed the listing oddly did not come up. Then I noticed I messed up... in the title I neglected to use the word "TICKET" and i had the date as "6th" instead of 6. I would think a search for 6 should hiton the listing with 6th... but for whatever reason I was not snagging it. So I egarly cancelled the ONE bid I had... I relisted it with TICKET and "6: instead of "6th".... I raised my minimum bid a bit and shortened the listing period. I should be OK as ... if the buyer snakes out then I still have barely enough time to relist and deliver it to the buyer. These tickets are selling on stub hub for $900 a pair! I already know (or suspect) there are no LOCAL Laker fans on this thread - so this is NOT a solicitation of any sort... just a lesson shared with others to be more careful than I was about choosing the title words to have effectove key words in it!

So what am I doing up? I dunno... I had a tooth filling just fall out (sort of) .... so tomorrow I have to see about getting an emergency dental appointment to repair this thing. I just brushed it with a special high flouride concentration tooth paste to guard against decay while the fresh enamel is exposed. DRAT!

The image above is similar to composite filling which I lost tonight - as it was also on the side of my tooth like these pictured here.

:wave2: Hi Lisa...glad to hear things pulling together for ya. My DDs must be in the minority...their school doesn't start until after Labor Day due to our county fair...so they won't miss any school. Of course, they don't dismiss them for summer until the 2nd week of June.

Tyreak's official last day of school is June 30. The week and half prior to that is set aside for testing. (Finals and regents) They return to school the Wednesday after Labor Day. However, they only have to be there for 30 minutes to pick up schedules, locker assignments... They don't return to school until the following Monday. Please don't ask why they can't just do everything on Monday. That's a mystery I've never been able to solve.:confused3

We're spending a week at WDW after the cruise, so Tyreak will miss the first 30 minutes of school.:rotfl2:

Good Morning... actually it's not for me. I hate being oncall!! I've been up since 3:30 am PT ---:sad1: :sad1: After this week I'll only have 3 more oncall weeks before TOAL.

My kids are not going on TOAL with us...They start school the last week of August. I need to find someone to go to school with them to get their PE clothes, class schedules ect. and then to meet their teachers..My biggest worry is DS11, he has ADHD, I need to speak with his teachers. I need to make an appointment with the school before this year is over.

Andrew...

... I cross questioned the BA rep this morning - asking for courtesy if buying a business class seat - or if getting / asking for vouchers, asking for what circumstances might obtain any concession... and so on... and NO LUCK!? The only thing mentione does NOT apply... and that is if your purchase was made online and the price dropped within 24 hours of intial purchase then they refund the difference.

May I suggest, that even though there may end up being NO refund of the difference as other carriers might do - I believe there is AlWAYS a silver lining to every circumstance. What it might be in this case, I am not sure. And I am not inviting any cynical criticsm... only that whatcomes around goes around. Although it may seem like a lot - I believe somewhere else you are being offset by receiving more. We just don't see what it is at the moment.

Oh well... sorry to not have better news to report.

Tom.. Thank you for trying for me, I have an enquiry out with them myself at their customer services no reply as yet, I booked direct with BA, not online, but that was September last year.

Lets see,

Thank you again.

Our state actually has a law that school can't start until after Labor day. We are lucky for this trip that the kids won't miss any school! :) We also don't end until mid June.

I have no idea what is going on thread wise but remember how much the topic of the kids missing school had been discussed back in the day before we even had had reservations on 1/31/07 so thought that I would pop in and share the info that I got today when I talked to the principal about the kids missing the first week of school and what to do as far as contacting their teachers and such. The principal told me that the kids are not counted on the roster until they set foot in the school that school year ... SOOOOOOO ... that means that they will be marked as "no show" until they get back and that is not an absence!!!! We donot have to rush back on Labor Day now and it will be less expensive for us to get a hotel room in Florida and get an early morning flight out of Orlando on Tuesday. Hopefully this will be the case for many of you with kids.

Lisa! Great to hear form you, hope all is well, like all your pics of the family:)

Sorry, been mia for a while. Happy Birthday's to all I missed. Happy Anniversary's to all I missed. Needed to post so I can find you all later.

Good Morning :surfweb: . We have a 1PM soccer game over an hour away. What a way to mess up the entire day - UGH!

My scary DH has got the chainsaw out and is hacking away every mis-behaving limb on the property. He is not the most saftey conscious with power tools, so I choose not to watch.

Who me??? :rotfl2: I only had a few, but they sure were yummy! ;)

cocktail_sangria.jpg

Oh, that just looks soooo good

And just how much $$$$$$$ do they want for these things?? :scared:

....if you have to ask (oops, Julie already beat me to it)

I know, I keep thinking he's going to reach into your abdomen and pull out organs for inspection or something!:rotfl2:

::yes:: ::yes:: like a scene from a bad horror movie:scared:

Shoes - I so totally agree about flats (and Crocs!). I have totally flat feet and wearing heals is downright painful. I don't think I own anything above 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch heel. However, I can't really wear flipflops either - no support - so I mostly live in athletic shoes with custom orthotics and my Crocs. Definitely a problem for dressy shoes!

Pamela

I was bummed - last week I wore my crocs all day doing yard work and I got a blister on my bunyon. Gosh, I sound like I'm 90

It has been wonderful! Our program had all outdoor fieldtrips this week and it has been amazing! (Though I have sunburn arms and face...I used 50spf and it did NOTHING!)

I am thinking the beverages pushed you over! I can't believe the week is over! (I am sure you are glad it is!):lmao:

Love Arby's Sauce!!!:lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc We don't have many around here anymore....so it is a real treat when I get it!

Chrissie

DD came home from her freind's house and her face was quite pink too.

Love Arby's sauce here too. We have one at the Mall. DD saw me eating it one day and she says, "Mom, how can you eat that? It doesn't even look like real meat". When I was a kid it was such a treat to go to Arby's - still brings back good memories :goodvibes

Obviously back from surgery. Went well. Except for the fact that the surgeon was 2 1/2 hours behind- it would have been perfect.
I had 2 little bumps on my forehead that bugged the heck out of my forever. I assumed they were clogged pores or something. They sedated me long enough to pump my face full of a local and then "woke" me back up. As soon as I awoke I felt something on my forehead. God love 'em! He saw them little suckers and just got rid of them. Then I had a tiny skin tag on my eye lid (weird, huh?), anyway he took that right off too.:thumbsup2
And my nose looks pretty good through the Zeroform. Maybe this sage is on its way of being over. Yay!!

Glad everything went well & yeah for your Dr for taking care of the extras.

Thanks. That's what I thought. I get cranky if I go too many hours without food:guilty:

[/COLOR]

Me too! We have a 6 hour flight and I am definately packing the lunch bag with sandwiches.

Wow, June 30th - that's awfully late. It must get dang hot in those buildings by the end of the year.

They don't get out until June 10 this year. Last year they moved the start from 8/5 to 8/25 so that pushed it back from mid May to June. :( Back when I was in school we didn't start until after Labor Day too.

Hi Lisa, glad to see you back. Glad everything is working out school wise. We don't start until after Labor Day so we are good, just a bit tight getting back for the start of school. The principal knows we travel and she is easy to work with. :thumbsup2

Good Morning All!
I have a question. A few people have mentioned bringing their own food on to the plane. I thought the new rule was you could not bring food through the security checkpoint. Are you buying food in the airport and carrying it on?
When all 31 of my family went to Alaska I stopped by a French restaurant (La Madeline) and got a ton of chocolate croissants. The airport screeners were kidding us that they might not make it through since they smelled so good. :)
I know water a no-no but I thought food was too.

Here's hoping he just cut all the misbehaving branches and nothing else.:)

We have brought food through the checkpoint. I think they may limit the yogurt, pudding and stuff like that.:goodvibes

Color me stupid but I can't pack food in my luggage?
I was thinking about bringing my cherished Hot Tamales and possibly some candy for FE in my checked bags.

Good morning everyone!!

I think I'll spend my day printing out my door signs for this cruise and the Mexican Riviera cruise.
And maybe do a little tanning too.

Just a lazy day.......DH went up to our cabin for the weekend, and DS is in California performing with his chorus group at Knott's Berry Farm...so it's just me and DD.

I *might* have chaperoned, if the kids had been going to Disneyland.....;)

Thanks Tom

I plan on having candy in my checked bags. And we always take DH's beloved smoked almonds with us. Haven't ever had a problem.
Did they change the rules again????

Have a fabulous,
STRESS FREE, day
