Well, it was more of a joke, but boy, you sure are accomodating

You think 14% hotel tax is bad.......our town is over 18% hotel tax. Wait til November when we have the honor of paying the highest sales tax in the country at 11% in cook County which is where I live!!!

WOW I'll never complain about our measley 5% sales tax ever again.

We could just have our designated walkers take us to dinnner!

..and we will give them those little flags like the tour guides use in WDW

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! DS is feeling much better & went back to school yesterday. Woohoo! We had a small birthday party for him at Rainforest Cafe last night. He was allowed to invite 4 friends & 1 couldn't make it last week so we postponed it. He didn't have much of an appetite still, but at least he made it.

I still have that sore & stiff neck which just makes me feel all around carpy so haven't felt like posting much. Still have a great appetite though!

Hey guys - for those of you in the know - we got some results back FINALLY and it doesn't look good - so I may be a bit absent but I'll be popping in and out.

I am not "in the know", but just wanted to say I hope everything turns out OK

Thank you all for the well wishes. Everything went well. Much better than I expected. I am currently coming down off the Valium/Vicodin and waiting for the Lidocaine to wear off. The microwaving did not really hurt it was the 20-30 injections to numb the area. I have to take it easy for the next couple of weeks (no biking) but I am up walking around right now. I have another couple of hours before I get to take my next meds if I need them. I will post before and after pictures after everything is healed.

Glad all went well. Enjoy your valium/vicodin recovery

Kev just sent ours in last night. We'll get back around $3000.

Got my supply of pirate sunscreen. Picked up 5 bottles. There were still about 10 on the shelf. We don't go through it that fast, plus I've still got 4 from last year.

Not everyone, by a long shot, will participate in the fish extender exchange, and that is perfectly fine. For example, Andrew traditionally does not because of luggage issues coming from the UK. It's just one of many things people can do, and once we have official sign up, people can decide whether or not to do it. On the 5 night cruise following this one (which I am also on), there are over 130 families on the list, so it is simply not true that only smaller Disgroups do this.

People get very creative if they want to do this -- you can make small bookmarks or magnets featuring the logo from the trip, for example, with the only cost being the computer ink and paper and laminating paper or magnet paper. These are also easy to pack. Others will bring inexpensive stickers and buy bags of candy at one of the ports and distribute a sticker and a few candies.

The fun is in planning what you will give out, and in checking the fish extender when coming back to the room. If it seems more stressful than fun, don't sign up and don't worry about it!

Great ideas! I am really excited. I think the whole..."its the thought that counts" thing is so true. Just having something in the FE when you get back to your room would be so exciting... Is is August yet????

Woo-Hoo! I got DIS mail today! Last week, my email was read on the podcast and my T-s*** arrived today

I had DS take a photo so I could post it (no one here "gets it" why I am excited!) Not the best photo of me ever, but since I was coaching him through how to use the camera at the same time, it isn't too bad!

I found 4 bottles at the DT about a mile from my house.
The guy told me that they were expecting another shipment in on Friday.

Is someone going to use that as their FE gift? If I find a case, I was going to make it mine. Let me know if you are giving the sunscreen and I will not- that is if I can even get enough.
I did manage to get 4 bottles tonight. They also has Panama Jack clear zinc oxide which I have to wear on my nose for 50 cents.

I did on the last cruise. But, then again we did not have a "FE Exchange" per se. We had a mini navigator with everyone's cabin number. We never discussed gifts, but somehow I ended up with Christmas Cards and little gifts just about every evening. For me, I just gave out goodie bags to the other DIS children from my DD.

Here's mine. No sewing involved. Just a hot glue gun and scissors. I folded a long strip of fabric over a wood dowell. Glued the sides together to make a seam. Used a different fabric and cut pockets, then glued those to the big strip. Wrapped some ribbon around the ends of the dowell and there you go. Oh and used stickers to put my screen name on it.

I love it!!! Especially the no sewing part.
