i have a hard time adjusting to the fact that the 10 yr olds are adults too. ugh!!!

Too bad there wasn't a category in between child and adult...something for say 10-13 year olds.

Theresa we have been discussing this recently. There are 2 Enterprise and Dollar. They both have shuttles to take you to the port. There may be extra drop off charges involved when dropping here. I will check them out in May when I send the Magic off on her maiden voyage to Mexico.

Thanks. . .we're trying to work things out to go see my sister in Venice Beach while we're in the left coast. DH would prefer not to rent a car. Here's hoping.

My DB lives in Burbank, but I told him we wouldn't have a car so I bribed him & DW to come to DL & we'd buy them dinner. Beats driving in the LA area! That would just freak DH right out! He really doesn't do great in the car when in unfamiliar territory and it certainly doesn't help when I drive. Even though I'm an excellent driver, he can't relax. That's why WDW & cruises work so great for us...no driving required!

Amen to that! LOL . .. I read what you said to my DH and he just laughed. You sound just like us. I'm turning around after the cruise and going back to LA for my DSis's wedding. DH is not coming so I can shuttle my mom around the area .. .LOL.

Talked with my sister today and they might not be home so maybe we can go back to plan A . . no car.

I'm sure we've talked about this before, but how do we get from LAX to DL?

This thread has been a bit slow today, we have snow coming tonight so a cold night and maybe a white morning.

Warm thoughts of this cruise coming up, its only five weeks to the Magic sets sail for LA.

Meanwhile, paid more off of my 2009 Eastern cruise, trying to get that out of the way now whilst the exchange rate remains the same. So 80% paid now.

The £ is falling like a lead balloon against the Euro at the moment so holidays to Europe are far more expensive. The dollar is OK, but we have an interest rate decision this Thursday and may cut our rates, to stave off economic issues.

I will have to buy you a drink on the cruise, your April fools letter had me going for about 90% of it. Then, I forwarded it to my husband and he fell for it about 80-90% through. If my daughter wouldn't have asked why we need to tip the CAPTAIN, we could have totally got him. He thought I was crying because we weren't going to the Mexican ports, but I was really laughing!!!!

LOL . ..Guess I owe him drink, too . .LOL. DH started reading our Mickey Mail yesterday and kept telling me we were now going to Equador. I kept trying to explain to him that it was an April Fools' joke. Glad the Mickey Mail straightened it out . ..LOL

We got our DCL cruise kit today! Woo hooo!

It seems like yesterday we were going on the May repo to the Med, and it has been almost a year!!! I sure hope these next 4 months go by fast...I guess if I think of it as 18 more chats...doesn't seem so bad?

I feel like I am the only one who hasn't gotten one. Has anyone who booked with DU gotten theirs? I think once I get mine it will settle in that I am really going this time (had to cancel the 1st PC cruise)

I don't blame ya, I know I was on the lookout for mine for that reason too...seemed more real and sure.
I hope yours gets there soon. I know usually through travel agents, Disney sends it to them first and then they forward it on to the client. When I went through AAA one time, it took forever to finally get our docs!

Does anybody else think that it's ironic that according to the cover letter that came with the planning kit, it calls the booking date the "hassle-free date".

Especially after the horror stories the WB cruisers had making their ressies.

I thought this exact same thing. Part of me was thinking, "Boy, I wish that were true, maybe they've improved things" and the other part was thinking, "YEAH RIGHT!"

I am so scared for that date.

Don't know if I can handle any more economic talk -- I'm stuck doing taxes today. The goods news is that it appears we may have a little extra for the TOAL, but I have yet to do all three state tax returns. Moving is such a pain when it comes to taxes.

Good news for the extra money from taxes!

Got our package today.

One thing concerns me though.


In the Setting Sail section on page 4, the last bullet says:

Coolers with personal items such as soda or snacks may not be brought onboard. (There's no need to lug that stuff with you anyway, since complimentary sodas and food are available day and night.)

Have these booklets always said that or is this new? I'm just wondering if the rules were changing. It doesn't say anything about softsided coolers.

The problem i have with the complimentary soda statement is that lest time we were on the Magic it was not self serve and they closed them down at night. (so you could only order and pay for drinks through room service)

But more important for me is that i shouldn't have ANY soda... (per doctor's order)
Well and i wouldn't drink it from a fountain anyway.

With as much water as i need they better let me bring it on.

We got ours on Friday, also.

So so fantastic, they have really upped the performance and FX effects on this one, I thought I knew what was coming for the first 40 mins, but then a great big large ET type Spaceship... then the little cute guys get beamed up, then......then the surprise........ ROSE! Knew she was back but not so soon.

Sinature line has pictures from the first Episode inc Cute monsters!

Unfortunately the new episodes aren't airing here for another two weeks. Then we FINALLY get the Christmas special. Then the series starts on SCI FI channel after that, so we are a few weeks behind you on episodes. Look forward to it. I know Deanna just can't wait! BBCA only airs reruns.

I am a TA, not with DU, and haven't gotten mine yet either I was told they are going in batches and are getting mailed twice a week, Wednesday and Fridays

Yes I read the SciFi in USA was running it, Voyage of the dammed was our Christmas Day special the 2nd most watched TV pro-gramme in the UK in 2007, then you get this new series starting after VOTD. That was about 75 mins long here so with adverts Will be about one and a half hours in USA. A great show staring Kylie and she was fantastic in it.
