Good Morning All :surfweb:

Susan - you are cooking all that in one day - you are SuperWoman!!!

So, I just ordered a couple of books off Amazon. On of them was "Get Out of My Life, but First Can You Drive Me and Cheryl to the Mall". That title just about sums up, in one line, where DD's head is at these days. I really need help understanding why everything has to be so negative and stratagies to deal with it, 'cause I just don't get it.

Does anyone else feel that the title is soooo appropriate for this bunch? Especially with our super shopper Cheryl????

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Let us know if the book is any good. Many of us have ST's that are in that attitude period right now.

HI folks --

Does anyone know if we can return our rental car at Port of LA?? Which car rental place is closed and has a shuttle back? I know in Cape Canaveral, we always use Budget b/c it is closest.

DH is beginning to concede that we're going to have to rent a car. My little sister lives in Venice, just bought a new house, and I think she'll be LIVID that we're only 1 hour away and not willing to come see her. I know it's a lot of driving, but it will be worth it so I don't have to hear for the rest of my life that I was so close and didn't come to see her (even though she was only 2 hours away from me at Christmas and didn't come by! - trying to sow some good seeds . . .LOL)

Thanks for your help during this family crisis . . .LOL

Have a super day!

Theresa 8-)

Enterprise is the only one I know that is near the port.

Happy Saturday, I read only the last 2 pages. Today is a rest day. Alan and I are exhausted. Today actually starts Adam's Spring break--so I was able to work him 5 shifts this week. Thunder over Louisville is next Saturday---start preselling parking Monday for $40. Day of it will be $45. We can fit 90 cars on our lot while keeping 1 pump island open for the entire day. (This is going to be our vacation spending $ for the TOAL) We will wait on 4000-5000 customers (it draws over 800,000 folks on the Indiana and KY sides of the river) We always give the employees a nice bonus for their extra hard work that day. This year the KY Lottery is also setting up on the lot with some fun things. This week will be all about getting the stock in and our stock room still being manuaverable (?). We are hoping for some nice weather. The airshow starts at 3 and the fireworks around 9. Depending on the weather Alan, Adam and I get to work anywhere from 8 am - 10 am and never have left before 2am. It is a very long, but a fun day. This year it is 3 weeks before Derby--so we will get a bit of rest before then.

We got the rental completely cleared out of the trash and things they left. Totally filled up that 30 yard dumpster--it was heaping full. And Alan walked it down 2 times. We will probably still need to get a smaller one--some of the windows are broken beyond repair and we are going to convert the attic space into a master bedroom and add a bath. Need to get a new countertop and replace the sink and faucet. Hopefully it will be ready to rent by June 1st. I hope to sell it to Adam when he gets married (one day) and let that be their starter home. (That way they get a deal and I don't have to recoup all that depreciation for the last 12-15 years:scared: )

You all have a great day.:goodvibes

Hey Pete and Johnna, Laura and Mark said they ran into you all at EPCOT! Hope you all had a great time at WDW.:goodvibes

Yesterday on chat, someone posted a link to the MAY Repo page.

They had a cool ship map with DIS Member cabin highlighted - you could click on the cabin and a box popped up with the member's info. Anyone more computer literate know if we can do that? Obviously, once the majority of us are not GTY. :rotfl2:

Actually that wasn't the May repo. That was another group on a separate board that is going on our cruise. Some of them are joining in on some of our activities.

Cor, its early evening here, the BBC have just broadcast the first in the new series of Doctor Who and .....................................................

Oh. What board is that? I'm going to have to go back and take a better look at that site.

Kevin and I decided that we're going to forego the sightseeing on the 16th and do DL instead. :cool1: Coral has graciously offered to not only let us park our car at her place while we're gone, but also drive :drive: us to the airport when we get there. And we were able to cancel our DCL Transfers to MCO because she suggested we ride with her and her family in their rental van!!! This will allow us a few extra bucks so that we can actually "afford" to go to DL with you guys.

I think I'll call her our Special Angel.

Hooray! Glad you'll be joining everyone at DL! And three cheers to Coral!

I'm so happy for you Debi. So are you going to join us for Fantasmic now?

Now you've got to switch gears and start DL planning.

This thread has been a bit slow today, we have snow coming tonight so a cold night and maybe a white morning.

Warm thoughts of this cruise coming up, its only five weeks to the Magic sets sail for LA.

Meanwhile, paid more off of my 2009 Eastern cruise, trying to get that out of the way now whilst the exchange rate remains the same. So 80% paid now.

The £ is falling like a lead balloon against the Euro at the moment so holidays to Europe are far more expensive. The dollar is OK, but we have an interest rate decision this Thursday and may cut our rates, to stave off economic issues.

Have a good night.

I got "Panama Fever by Matthew Parker" last week and will be starting next week. It was just released a couple of weeks ago and I am hoping that it is a good read.

I just started "The Path Between the Seas"

Very do-able, need rooms first!

Hi everyone!

How are y'all doing? I am back again....

We got back late Sunday evening from a Spring Break trip to WDW. We had a great time. Had a few glitches along the way, mainly a ruptured fuel tank in Mid Tennessee. (About half way on our trip from Milwaukee to Orlando). Spent several hours at a car dealership to be told that the nearest tank was in Ohio. So we left the van there and rented a SUV for rest of the trip. It was the only thing that would fit all 7 of us. But, it had seriously HALF the storage as my minivan, so we had a fairly unpleasant remainder of a drive. But we all survived. We had a VIP adventure tour scheduled at Sea World at 11:30am. We were supposed to get into Orlando the night before, but we just couldn't make it with the car issues. So we pulled into our hotel at 10:30am. Luckily they had one of our rooms ready so we were able to change and run over to Sea World and we made it to the tour desk with 1 minute to spare! WOW!

Switching the stuff back from the rental to our minivan took place at 4:00AM in a Nashville car dealership parking lot. That was pretty fun too! :dance3: :dance3: Like I told the kids, what would a trip be without some adventure!!

Anyway, now that the WDW trip is under our belt, it is time to get serious about the Panama Canal trip. We are so darn excited.

I have my airfare coming home from Orlando, that was the most important as the kids start school the NEXT day. I found $108 one way direct from Milwaukee to LA on Air Tran, so I am going to book that for 2 of us. The rest of us are going to take the TRAIN and spend a few days at Disneyland prior. Yippee. This will add another week to the trip, fun stuff!

Anyway, if you haven't had a chance to look at Andrew's Panama Canal post, you really should. It has me more excited than ever and we got our cruise kit in the mail today. So I am pumped!

One quick question...on your letter with the cruise kit, what date does it say that you can start booking excursions etc? I think mine is wrong. Thanks!

Oh, and Tom...

I will have to buy you a drink on the cruise, your April fools letter had me going for about 90% of it. Then, I forwarded it to my husband and he fell for it about 80-90% through. If my daughter wouldn't have asked why we need to tip the CAPTAIN, we could have totally got him. He thought I was crying because we weren't going to the Mexican ports, but I was really laughing!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

GREAT WORK!!!!

I just started "The Path Between the Seas"

I read this book about a month ago. Excellent author if you enjoy history -- I've read most of McCullough's books. It's a very detailed account of the people who made the Canal possible. If you just want to read some great details on the canal itself, you can skip to the last chapter.

Don't know if I can handle any more economic talk -- I'm stuck doing taxes today. The goods news is that it appears we may have a little extra for the TOAL, but I have yet to do all three state tax returns. Moving is such a pain when it comes to taxes.
