Gotta go to sleep soon.
Early appointment tomorrow for hep A shots.

I just wanted to let you guys know.
I had my mamogram today. First one after my lumpectomy last year.
All clear:banana:

one year down, four more to go:woohoo:

Congrats!!!!!!

Yep, I am pretty sure we are on the same flight home. AA nonstop at 2:30 if I remember correctly.

Okay we're on the same flight then!
took me awhile and was kinda stressful (first time ever for me to book flights for us seperately! and I even booked the wrong dates on the way to LAX- booked 9/1 to LaX and had to call to cancel that immediately :confused3 ) but I finally got it all done. cost more to get home than it cost to get to LAX........... but we're on the same flight- AA nonstop 2:30pm- flight 1373 right? Cost extra for 2 of us.. 3 at the discounted rate. Unfortunately couldn't get 4 at the discounted rate. And the only way to get the discounted rate for all 5 of us would be to have 2 of us flying 2hrs later- no thanks. I did think about it for a moment but that would have us with luggage on 2 planes, 2 of us waiting at the MCO for 2hrs to get on the flight- the other 3 waiting a couple hours at DFW for the other 2 to arrive, all getting home 2hrs later, etc. Nah it was worth the extra. LOL

Hey I can't remember how to get in chat! I used to go thru some link somewhere............

and ps.now we gotta go on this trip- otherwise we've now wasted about $600 on passports (and pictures and new BC's we had to get to get the passports) and about $1600 for all our flights there and back!

That's a lot of dough for nothing- yanno? gotta go.......... somehow someway LOL

I got into chat but it only let me post once and then froze up on me! so I had to close out and everything was acting funky so I had to reboot. *sigh* this computer (with Vista) gets on my last nerve. I wanna switch back to my old computer with ME on it. LOL

Okay so now to figure out the cheapest way to get from LAX to hojo's- and y'all BETTER have me on the bus from HOJO to port.. or else. LOL

1) What is your favorite flavor of ICE CREAM or substitute favorite DESSERT

2) If you could have any car as your own "FREE" to use for a year - what would it be?

3) If you could visit any one place on the planet for 7 days - what destination would you choose. All expenses paid however, you cannot take any physical souveneers back with you.

4-5-6) If you had Aladdin's lamp and 3 wishes... what would be your 3 wishes? The same limitations apply as in the Disney version - you can't raise the dead, you can't make someone love you, and you can't wish for more wishes.

7) Tell us something about yourself that you've never posted here before.

OK... before I turn in tonite I'll try to come back and reply to these 7 questions!

1. Favorite Ice Cream: Edy's Girl Scout Cookie Samao (only available for a short time each year)

2. Car to use for a year: BMW Z3, but it would magically disappear INTO my garage at the end . . . just love that car!

3. Visit on planet: New Zealand or France (again)

4-5-6. Wishes:
4 - Enough real estate investments to provide a couple million of income of each year (and increase as time goes on) with great, honest, full-of-integrity managers
5 - Two daughters-in-law that are wonderful wives for my sons and love to hangout with me and go shopping (mind you my boys are 11 & 13 so I have time for this to come true)
6 - A long and healthy life

7 - Something about me I've never posted before: I'm a Phi Mu :)

Thanks Crash for the great questions . . .I so enjoy reading everyone's answers :)

I've just read the following thread: Keeping Track of Your Teen

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1764605

A few interesting comments:

If you have younger children in the family, you will have a pager. Your teen can go to the club or lab and ask them to send you a pager message--Joe just wants you to know that he's going to Ocean Quest--or whatever.

This could be handy. We will have one in Lab (DD12) and Stack (DS13).

Do be sure that your son attends the 411 session in The Stack on the first night. THey meet with the counselors as well as security personnel and hear the ship's rules. It's well done...but is kinda "these are our lines. If you follow our guidelines, you'll have a great cruise. Cross these lines and the consequences are serious."

A must attend session, as far as I'm concerned. Sometimes they listen better to rules when it comes from someone else.

Also keep in mind that they will be no long allowing 13-14’s in the Stack as of May 10th. This is what Taylor in the Stack told me last week, and it has been rumored for quite a while.

Anyone else, heard/confirm this rumour? It makes sense, in a way.

Ah . . my DS14 will be so bummed. Where will the 13-14's go?? Anyone hear?

We're going to be in Yorktown/W'burg June 6-8. We're heading to Busch Gardens (free military tickets :woohoo:), relaxing on Sat., and I'm running the Yorktown triathlon on Sunday.

Ahh . . I'll be in Richmond for the annual state homeschool convention. We'll be back in town on Sunday . . .would love to meet up . . .Let me know . .

DD needs some answers for her Homework assignment. If anyone is interested inhelping???

Ah . . my DS14 will be so bummed. Where will the 13-14's go?? Anyone hear?

Uh oh....I have a DS that is 15, but a more social DD that is 14...she will be so sad, I think she was looking forward to going to the teen clubs. I would also like to know what they are supposed to do. :confused3

Hi Theresa, can you believe how close the cruise is getting?

Excellent point. My son has gone for a couple of years now, and will be just days short of age 15 on our June cruise. He's gonna be ticked!
I'm really curious what they'll do with the kids. That age group was about all that went to the Stack, anyway. My older teen didn't....she and her group were "too cool" for it. (According to them, anyway)

Sorry I missed chat, socializing with the visiting fam and all. DS9 is at a "Read Over" at school. Slumber-party in the library sort of thing. I have to go get him soon.

Hey M, will this do?

No speedo. :)

No...I want one!!!:sad1:

Me too!!

PLEASE tell me this is a dancing hotdog, and NOT what I initially thought it was!

So my first comment was 'cigar' but Diane already said it.
Maybe the sausage and  could be partners.

I just answered questions as matter of factly as I could when they came up. And they came up much earlier than I thought, but I'd rather tell the truth than keep it all a mystery like parents did.
Darren's parents never gave him the facts of life speech:sad2: I guess they felt that health class at school was enough:rolleyes1

DS9 is starting to ask questions about "s-e-x" (he spells it out, I have no idea why). We're still on the "your body is yours and no one is allowed to touch your private parts..."

My parents went the mystery route. Keep in mind they had a baby when I was in 5th grade!!! Our sex ed was in 5th grade...everyone else was like "oh, my parents wouldn't do that / only did it a long time ago" Yeah, we had an infant at home.

"The Talk" with my mom consisted of "How was health class? Do you have any questions?" and later on in HS "Don't do anything stupid."

Funny story - when the kids were toddlers, I tried to teach them the anatomically correct names. DH ended all that when DS2-ish kept referring to his "peanut".

Gotta go to sleep soon.

YAY!
Great news, Laura!

Ahh . . I'll be in Richmond for the annual state homeschool convention. We'll be back in town on Sunday . . .would love to meet up . . .Let me know . .

Hmmm, not sure if I want to meet someone for the first time after running a triathlon. :scared:

Which leads me too...I am the worst Mom ever. You know how I mentioned that I was going out mapping trails for work? Well, I'll be gone for DS7's birthday! And I didn't realize it until yesterday! Ugh! So not only are we going to be on TOAL for DS9's next b-day, I won't even be home for DS7's. Nice Mom, huh?

So here is our new plan. Since we are going to W'burg-Y'town 2 weeks after his b-day, we are going to spring for the Great Wolf Lodge and call it "DS7's Birthday Trip" which just happens to end with my triathlon. Off to the budget board to look for a code...

Morning everyone. Bip send a PM to smeecanada. The link is on the first page and the Pirate Zone I believe. We will be there as well. Hope to meet up with you.

Silversea apologizes for flubbed Panama Canal cruise

When you pay more than $30,000 for a cruise through the Panama Canal, you expect to at least be able to see the canal, if not experience it in depth.

But that wasn't the case for passengers on a recent Silversea cruise sold as "the Panama Canal Experience."

Britain's Telegraph today reports that the luxury line has apologized to passengers on the 15-day trip for unexpectedly taking them through the canal during the night in total darkness, resulting in them missing what was billed as the highlight of the trip.

A Silversea spokesperson told the paper the night crossing of the canal was unplanned and beyond its control. While the ship was scheduled to pass through the canal during daylight hours, Panamanian authorities held it back to make way for larger vessels -- an occurrence that the spokesperson says never has happened before or since.

Oops. Of course, they only carry 250-400 passengers.
