"Go ahead, make my :cake:."

"A :cake:, A :cake:
my kingdom
for a :cake:"

I know I shouldn't complain after all because I just priced out a 7 nt NCL Bermuda cruise out of Boston for summer 2009 & since they don't have balconies for 4 I looked at a balcony & inside & it was $7100!!! That's only about 2k less than what I'm paying for the 15nt TOAL!!! :scared:

:guilty:
And no Disney ''Magic'':worship:

Good one! :lmao:
Wow- were you stitches supposed to fall out on their own?
I am going to unconsciously scratch my nose a couple of times before I realize that is not a good idea.
How long until you could put makeup on your face? I am guessing it is going to be a couple of weeks.

No...the stitches were supposed to come in a week ...........but they were near my mouth. ;) ;) I guess because I never am quiet....they just had a big strain from my mouth going all the time. :rotfl2: I had more problems with the first operation because of my allergy to the anti-biotic. Make-up can be worn once it is close to healed. Maybe a little over a week after stitches are out. You can wear make-up except on the incision.:flower3:

You will be surprised how easy it will be!!!

Ya know we really should have written all of those down way back then. We could have done a coffee house reading with them.

for whom the :cake: TOALS

may the :cake: be with you

:cake: for president

to :cake: or not to :cake: that is the question

Give me :cake: or give me death.

It's a :cake: world after all

A:cake: for your thoughts!!!!

I regret that I have but one :cake: to give for my country!!

Don't worry too much about the inside joke here.....we just like :cake:

You can't handle the :cake:!

:cake: what you can!

It is better to have :cake: and lost, than to never have :cake: at all.

All for :cake: and :cake: for all!!!

Well this just takes the :cake:

Well you know you can't have your :cake: and eat it too!!!

For you Star Wars fans

"Use the :cake:, Luke"

"Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy :cake:."

"Go ahead, make my :cake:."

And I thought I was lost with the pirate: , now this :cake:???

You can't be lost...you're a pirate! I'll try to offer a little insight:

The pirate smiley is just because we're all pirates here & if someone does or says something piratey it's a good time to add a pirate smiley! pirate:

The cake thing came about because in chat someone would mention how they were having cake & someone else would answer "I like cake". It was just the running joke. So cakes started popping up here in sayings, birthday wishes, etc. :cake:

I don't know if you know about the groundhog, but if someone mentions or asks something that's been discussed many times before, someone might post a groundhog. Not that we're making fun of anyone, because we gladly answer the same questions & it shouldn't stop anyone. Just like the GTY discussion....GROUNDHOG ALERT!

When this thread was new & we hadn't even booked the cruise yet, there was much speculation about how much this TOAL was going to cost us. I even added to the mix! It's funny now when I think back, because well I was off by a few K! Anyway that's when the groundhog first appeared.

Thanks for the insight! I can't believe there was a meet thread for the cruise before you had even booked it. Did it start before or after the cruise was officially announced?

I remember booking the cruise in January 2007 and logging on to the DIS that day and was amazed at how full the meet thread already was. Unfortunately, it frightened me and I stayed away for about a year, but am glad to be back.

I'm not sure if it was "officially" announced yet, somebody else might know. I was going to wait till I booked to join the thread, because I wasn't even sure we could afford it (still not) but the thread kept growing & growing.

Glad you came back...you fit right in with this pirate crew! pirate:

And I thought about it & realized you might be asking what it means to get a pirate pirate:? If that's the case it just means that if you post when the post number ends in 000 you won the pirate:! Not that you win anything but there is a contest between the pirates & wenches to see who can get the most pirates. It's just a game that was started on another cruise thread that others here were a part of & that game was continued on this one. We used to post a lot of nonsense (or what we call fluff) just to get to the pirate:, but the thread (s) were already big enough so now we're above all that! Ya right! ;)

I know what you mean. I read about this cruise a couple of weeks before it was open for booking. I had not been on a DCL cruise before and have always wanted to go on a Panama Canal cruise. I emailed my whole family but the timing just did not work for anyone other than us and my parents.
When we decided to book I went over to the Meets board and sure enough there was already a thread going. I posted some before 1/31 but it was already up to a couple hundred posts 2 weeks before booking. :scared1:

I know what you mean by still not sure if we can afford it! Our DS asked us last night why we don't finish our basement like in our old house -- I told him we could if we forgo the TOAL! (well almost anyway)

Also, thanks for the explanation of the pirate: I tried my best to figure it out, but nothing made sense to me until now.

Is this still your first DCL cruise or did you take one in 2007? It's funny because when we found out about this cruise, we didn't tell any of our family as we didn't want them coming (shame on us). We had cruised with family before and really enjoyed it, but this time wanted to do our own thing.

Yes, Christopher it started about 1-2 weeks before the announcement came out. Some of us heard from a little mouse :rolleyes1 that they were coming to LA for the summer of 2008. We contacted individual ports to determine the repo dates before DCL made their announcement.

All for :cake: and :cake: for all!!!

No :cake: for all. I'm not sharing. :cake: for me!

Well funny you should ask M! I was going to hold of mentioning this till I really was complete, but I've worked on it diligently for the last 2 days. I actually contacted a professor who agreed to be my "reader" which means he'll grade it etc. & he is waiting for it as we speak. I plan on giving the kids lunch & then getting to it. I will most likely send everything but the conclusion since that is still a work in progress, but I am adding a little bit here & there before I send the intro & body.

The other day I went to the local Community College I attended to have my transcripts sent to the University so I can apply for graduation next week. I have until April 1st! I work great under pressure!

Probably much more than you wanted to know, but I'm so proud of myself this week!

:guilty:

Yay Diane!

I just got this email from our church.

We are offering an Easter service on Saturday evening, March 22 at 5 p.m. in the Sanctuary. It is identical to the Easter morning services. We encourage you to attend Saturday evening to help make space for all the visitors on Easter morning. We celebrate Easter morning with three identical services in the Sanctuary. Each service will include the choir, orchestra and the Reign Band. Or you may choose to worship in the relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere of the Ministry Center. This laid-back setup includes tables and chairs and snacks to occupy the little ones. The service will be video simulcast from the Sanctuary.

If possible, please attend the 5 p.m. Saturday or 8 a.m. Sunday services, allowing space for guests at the later services.

Don't forget to park at Marcus!

Now, this set wrong with me. I am all for encouraging visitors but to tell you devoted (and consistently contributing) members to come to the Easter service on Sat pm to make room for visitors I think is tacky. Also, you members should not park in the church parking lot but instead park in the high school a couple blocks away. :confused3
Nothing says Easter like dressing up in your finest and going to church- on Saturday evening!!! :sad2:
Although it would be significantly less hectic on Sunday am (we still do the ole Easter Egg hunt) and we would have a better time trying to find a table at our brunch place- it still is not appealling.
We are going to be rebels and go at our regular time and sit in the same pew we have for that last 11 years.

It would sit wrong with me too! We prefer Saturday church - we get up early all week long and prefer to sleep in on Sundays. I am glad you are still going to go at your regular time - park where you normally park too - just for the heck of it!

Happy Weekend everyone! Spring Break starts NOW for us!! I am more than ready for it, I was so happy to get the kids on teh bus this afternoon - especially after all that Spring Party sugar that they filled up on thanks to our lovely room parents!

We are excited to see the BLUE MAN GROUP tonight - I will try and post how it was. DS12 and DD8 are going too - their first rock concert

Doesn't bother me. But then again my church has been like this for quite a while. We've got parking space at a mall across the street. The choir and many regulars park there, then one of our bus drivers brings them back and forth. And we've always been encouraged to attend the 'off' time services (not just on holidays) to allow room more visitors. Then again, our campaign for the last 18 months has been "Making Room For More". Doesn't make me feel less valued. Just reminds me of what we are supposed to be doing, outreaching to those that don't go to church.

Well this just takes the :cake: ;)
How bad is my luck that I started having huge Spring allergy attacks the same time I am going to have stitches on my nose. :scared1:
I have been blowing my nose like crazy today.
Sure going to make an interesting next week! :guilty:

Just adds some more places where you can blow it all out. :rotfl:

Seriously, good luck with that. Thank goodness I have not devloped alergies. Although my brother keeps teasing me that I'll have them in a few years. He didn't have allergies until his mid 40s.

Keep at it Diane.

But I can totally relate to the working under pressure thing. I always put things off till the last minute.
