DISCLAIMER: For those of you on the trip with us. I apologize if I got anything wrong. It is all a blur now and I can't exactly remember what was done and when.
Thanks so much for the trip report Monica. Loved the pics and the details:goodvibes

I love Wednesdays. My cleaning lady speaks a little English and I speak a little Spanish so we teach each other every week. It has reminded me that I actaully do remember my middle school Spanish.

I did the worst possible thing: I researched my Mohs surgery on the internet.
Scared myself silly. I saw a case study that showed the exact spot and seemingly same size I had so I thought it would be a good one to see. WRONG!! The poor man had a gaping hole all the way through his nose. :scared1: I called the nurse and asked if that was what I should prepare myself for. She was pretty appalled I had even thought that. She said to definitely expect stitches though. That I can deal with- gaping holes- not so much!

Happy Hump Day everyone.
Coral, I'm the same way. I research everything myself, can't bring myself to put blind trust in a doctor:confused3 I looked on the internet and I can see why the images would be disturbing, but I'm sure they were pictures taken before the repair and stitches that the plastic surgeon would do-doctors like to show off their skills (see how bad it was before I fixed it kinda thing) Found this video of a woman who had Mohs at 1 week post op and 3 weeks post op (I think). Maybe you saw this already. Anyway her images look like what my Mom had.http://video.aol.com/video-detail/plastic-cosmetic-surgery-nasal-cancer-mohs-jo/3290524312
Pretty amazing what doctors can do these days.

Ok here is your funny for the day. I was talking to my neighbor the other day and she casually mentioned when she took her shower that morning the cat was dirty so she .............took the cat in the shower with her :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: For anyone that has cats this is probably shocking! She said she held him and washed him and then when finished with him she put him down in the shower and finished hers. She has no idea how odd it is for a cat to do that as this is her 1st cat.
My cat would scratch me to the bone if I tried that.
My cats actually wait outside the shower so they can get in when we are finished:confused3 Not when the water is running. They like to lick the water off the walls:rolleyes: Yes, they have plenty of fresh water, they like shower water better:confused3

Even though I'm relatively new to this thread, I enjoyed reading the trip report and viewing the pictures. Thanks for sharing. It does look like a fun group. Our family is relatively shy (well except for my DW and youngest DS), but we are really looking forward to meeting all of you.
We're looking forward to meeting you and your family too:thumbsup2

:wave2: Hi!! A very quick fly-by posting this morning.....company keeps me hopping...but I love being "tour guide".

Thank you so much for the great birthday wishes!! I DID get roses, but they weren't quite delivered by anyone resembling the guy in the picture here! ;) My family really went all out, and they touched my heart with decorating the house in the wee hours before I woke up, flowers, gifts, balloons and a really wonderful dinner that included our visiting DIS friends. Doesn't get much better than that!!

Thank you again, I really, really appreciate it!!

Off and running! :car:
Hey Stace:yay: Glad you had a great day too:thumbsup2

I Know what you mean, just I cant stand water all the time and it fills me up, when I havent eaten.

Andrew, I use the diet soda when I'm craving something sweet between meals. I just have to make sure I don't have any caffeine too close to dinner time or it interferes with my sleep. As long as you are sleeping ok, I wouldn't change anything you are doing given the success you are having:thumbsup2

I am a TA and we received this information for our guests that are booked for May to pass along
Thanks so much for sharing the info:goodvibes

Ohh! This would be so cool for us linked to get 6:00 and have AP be our 1st restaurant. My Mom and I are the only 2 who have been on DCL so it will be a surprise for DH, Dd's and my dad.
Could never get my Mom on a cruise:sad2: She is scared to death of the water. We did have fun with her at WDW though:goodvibes

My wit often gets me into trouble. I tend to say the things that other people are thinking but don't say. Like at work the other day, we were discussing that the head of our mobile division in EMEA is supposedly leaving to go to Apple. His last name is Fenger, so of course, I had to say "We're giving Apple the Fenger".

I mean, everyone in the room was thinking it. I need to work on my inner monologue.
:lmao:
Oh, I got myself into trouble too one time. I was at a training lecture and the instructor was trying to give us advice about our new jobs as patent examiners. Well after mentioning (for the third time in the space of 15 minutes) that we shouldn't look at child pornography on computers at work, I couldn't help myself... I said "but the adult stuff is ok, right?" Everyone laughed, but I wished I had kept my mouth shut. He was trying to help us:blush:

Congrats again....just as I start to work out again, I get struck my another setback. Around 3:00 a.m. this morning I was awoken by the pain from another gout attack. I wish I knew what brought these on, but after having walked about three miles each day during the past week and a half, I now can barely walk around the house. (I was running 5 miles a day before these gout attacks started). I guess it'll be a while before I can try again. I am eating better and will do what is necessary to be at goal by the cruise!
Ouch:headache: I hope it feels better soon.

All right, so I'm thinking I get a fat suit, and use duct tape to tape the bottles around my torso...

:lmao: :lmao: OMG, the images that brings:eek:

Hey all! Happy Hump day!

Somewhat of a short week for me. We only work a half day on Good Friday. I haven't worked on Good Friday in a good 6 or 7 years, always took the morning off and went to the Marshmellow Drop at a local park, but dd isn't into it anymore. DD is also on vacation this week, so she is at the Y winter camp. We are going to go to Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky OH for the weekend. Trying to have a bit of spring but now I hear we may have snow Fri! :scared1:

We have allmost an inch of new snow right now!!!!:scared1: !!! I thought tomorrow was supposed to be the 1st day of spring.

Thanks to Coral and Cheryl:yay:
I've got an appointment with the dermatologist tomorrow for a skin cancer check. Let you know how it goes tomorrow:rolleyes1

Thanks for DFs birthday wishes! Our school district is projecting declining elementary enrollment over the next few years. This is debatable and have seen sources that it might actually be increasing over the same time frame. The school district has targeted our school because it is the smallest (in kids) in the district. They feel that closing the smallest school will cause the least disruption. :confused3 But to take a top school and scatter us into 3 of the bottom schools really sinks as far as us parents are concerned. We have had in the past, an option of school choice. You can apply for your child to attend another school in the district other than the one your are assigned to. Funny thing happened yesterday morning, they rescinded the school choice option from our school district prior to the board meeting last night. Now only the kids from the two closing schools can school choice (sounds good so far) BUT you can only school choice to the school you are slated to move to in 2009. :sad2: So basically they are allowing us to move to a school that we are assigned to a year earlier. Anyway, tonight we are having a grass roots meeting to form a charter school. We already have people working on this, so today I am reading about charter schools. Thanks again for all of your words of encouragement.

Roger, that really stinks all the way around. Good luck getting the charter school together.

Don't research surgery on internet!!!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

My wife, you would never know she had Mohs on her nose, up towards eye. Apparently its ugly while they do it, but then a few stitches (not of the Lilo variety) and she barely has a scar (only visible when tanned and you hold her up to the light at the right angle).

Think of the alternative!!!!

hhhhmmmm, you're holding your wife up to the light? I'm intrigued.

JR, move on to the next post....

Here's my dumb question for day, I saw something similar on another thread, but figured since I won't ever go back to that one, I would ask it here....

If you rebook on board, can you transfer the ressie to another ship? Probably more specifically, is it possible now to transfer a Wonder ressie to the Magic? What about a Magic to Wonder?

Yes, thinking ahead to new ships and just wondering how DCL handles it now...

BTW, one of the Meyer Werft webcams is showing an empty bay... wonder if the Dreams or whatever the other one will be called will be there next?

I believe that you can switch from boat to boat (thinking ahead here myself).

Also, I heard that neither of the new ships will be built in either of those bays:sad1:.

I called DCL to ask about the carry on rules for liquids (rum and the likes ;) )
They said that their rules for this have not changed. It cannot have any ice, no hard sided coolers and must fit in the scanners

If the port rules have changed it is up to them what they will accept or not but the rule for the ports has always been that you could not ship liquids or anything in glass containers. If they are no longer accepting shipped boxes it is because they were getting too many and could not process them correctly therefore it is a safety issue. Liquids, wine, beer, soda, water, cannot be in your checked luggage. The rule doesn't apply to toiletries, shampoo and such those can be in your checked luggage

remind me, how large are the scanners?

Been busy around here. Yesterday my brother and his family flew down from Sacramento to celebrate my DFs 90th birthday. Took the kids out of school for the day so they could visit with their cousins.

Found out from my nephew that his family is going a short Mexican cruise and will be returning 8/15. They are planning to stay at our house that night or maybe the 16th. :scared1: I mentioned that we are leaving for our vacation on the the 17th and that the 16th would probably not be a good night. So I guess that they are staying on the 15th. No sure how this will all play out for us coming to DL on the 16th. Maybe they will come too.

Lastly DW went to the School Board Meeting last night for the final vote on closing Austyn's elementary school. The board voted 3-2 to close our school. :sad2: I have made a note of the 3 old ladies that voted to close our school and will make sure they are not elected the next time they are up for election. The biggest grip that we have is that the school they are moving us too are among the lowest in the district. Only 57 kids out of 500 can speak English and their API scores are really on the low side. We moved here 20 some odd years ago because of our neighborhood school. Our school is a National Blue ribbon school and last week won its 3rd Distinguished School award. Moving to the designated school is just not an option for Austyn. We will now have to start exploring our options as to where she will be going to school and when to move her.

Roger, that stinks !! I hope you guys find something Austyn will be happy with.

Received this information for the WB sailing

5:30/8:00pm PLAPLAPLAPLAPLA
5:45/8:15pm LAPLAPLAPLAPLAP
6:00/8:30pm APLAPLAPLAPLAPL

No information on the EB on anything yet, waiting not so patiently :rolleyes1

WOW! Thanks so much for getting this!

For us OCP here is what the dining schedule would look like for a 6pm rotation. Excuse the port times, this is old and forgot to change them.

DINNERROTATION.jpg

This would mean that we would have both of our Formal nights in Parrot Cay.

Thank you Roger:worship: :worship:

Lisa the regulations for carry-on are as follows:

The maximum size carry-on bag for most airlines is 45 linear inches (the total of the height, width, and depth of the bag). Anything larger should be checked.

I would think something along that size or a little bigger.

We're relatively shy too, except for my DS! Although M would probably read this & think....What??? I practically ran her down hugging her when we met in WDW, but I just felt like I knew her so well. KWIM? ;)

how funny would it be if we all got on the cruise & felt too shy to talk face to face?
