ok i wasn't ignoring you Capt.... Yesterday was crazy busy and today's pretty scatterbrained too....

We are at 114 to link for Capt's dining so far..... (potentially another 25-30 if M&S's friends are there too)

Come on people.....We need to fill the room....

Wouldn't you rather eat near the rest of us than total strangers?

Any linking will not happen until way after the 90 day mark (probably about 30 days out) so shouldn't affect the 90 hooplah for booking excursions early.....

My 12 yr old just measured in at 5'6'' today. No telling how many more inches he'll gain before the cruise. He is often mistaken for being much older but he prefers to hang out with the younger crowd. Fine by me, kids grow up too fast around here.

I'm right there with you ... my 11 yo is 5'4" and we're buying new sneakers roughly every 6 weeks :sad2: He does look older than 11 ... but he's got the common sense of a toad (so says DH  ) so you'd never have a conversation with him and think he was older, it's just by sight ;)

My 8yo on the other hand ... is lucky to have reached 4'6" and perhaps weighs 50 lbs ... can't believe how DIFFERENT these kids are sometimes.

Andrew is 4'6":confused3 Same height as his sister who is 3 and 1/2 years younger. We've taken him to a specialist and so far the tests are normal. I'm hoping his growth spurt is just delayed.
He has his Dad's sarcastic sense of humor which sometimes gets him in trouble:rolleyes:

My Daughter is 13 and about the same size as your son. She is used to being one of the smallest in school, etc (The band uniform had to be "drastically" altered to even come close to fitting her, the PE Uniform comes down to her knees, etc). But, when she is hanging with all of her gymnastic buddies - she looks just the right size! So, tell your son if he doesn't grow much more, he can find a lot of cute little girls at local gymnastic gym, or dance studio, etc. :thumbsup2

Yes, My dd towers at least a foot or so over him (she's almost 15 and almost 5'10")

I'm not 15, but I am 5'10" and have been since about age 14/15 ... it WILL take the boys a while to catch up, but most, if not all of them do. I remember a boy that I graduated from HS with ... he was always one of the shorter guys in the class, and by the time we graduated, I think he'd pretty much caught up to me, by 5 year reunion, he was taller :confused3

Lance Mackey won the Iditarod this morning. That's him with his 2 lead dogs, Larry & Hansom. No one has ever won the 2 big sled dog races back to back in one year (Yukon Quest & Iditarod). Mackey did it this year AND last year. Amazing.

We got up this morning to listen to streaming radio. As DH pointed out:

We are not too odd for giving up sleep for...
- the super bowl
- the world series

It gets a bit stranger for...
- the Olympics - winter and summer

But...we're pretty much totally cracked for...
- an ECHL hockey team
- Dogs pulling a sled to Nome

I thought about you guys when they showed the winner on the Today show. My 8yo was all excited, "MOM, the Iditarod! I just did a Scholastic News on that!" I said, "Yeah? Well on the cruise, you might get to meet some boys that used to get to see that race in person right there in Alaska!" I don't know if that's true or not ... but I figured it was about as safe as everyone thinking that if you're from MA, you live in Boston. ;)

I won't think you're too odd for missing sleep for any of those things, if you don't think I'm too odd for doing the same to watch a Wedding and a Funeral :headache:

Kristna and Sk8,

Same motorcade past my hotel today and right through the gates on Penn Ave. Told it was POTUS, so that was him the other night.

We should have had Sk8 and one of her monkeys ask POTUS in for a drink (since they are so close). Woof! Woof!

Been there done that about 25 years ago.:goodvibes My son was always short in stature but huge on brains.:rolleyes1 I took him to a specialist at 12 twelve years old. I was told because of his hereditary traits ......hormone growth shots were not an option. :sad2: I was told he would never be over 5' 2". I think he graduated high School at 5 feet tall. We sent him off to college. To make a long story short....He grew 7 inches at the age of 18 to stand 5'7" today.:yay: He is well respected in the field of Biology as a world wide trouble shooter for a huge pharmaceutical company.:thumbsup2 Doctors are not always right!!! He was also diagnosed at the age of 6 with a learning disablitiy till he was tested in 1st grade. He was tested and went off the charts with his IQ. He was just bored with what the school was teaching him. Life is full of surprises.;)

Happy Birthday and Anniversary to all we have missed

Have a great Wednesday

Congrats to your daughter.:woohoo: :woohoo: You must be very proud!!!:flower3:

So I'm up checking Julianna and she is now 101 in temp - and the omnicef needs another day to control this fever apparently. She may not get to school this week it seems since she has to stay below 100 degrees 24 hours before - and friday we were gonna ditch school anyway and head off to san diego early AM. Kalea needs to get in to see the doc tomorrow (maybe) and so I should have my hands full all day tomorrow with 2 sic kids - maybe. And if the spouse gets any more ill then she'll stay home too.

It seems a fare sale has kicked off this morning with Virgin moving into some markets. We have $44 O/W air fares from LAX to SF which I might consider ... as that works out to $113 R/T.

... and for a final diversion... what do the following have in common?

Sorry DD's are both  and DW too  . Hope you all start feeling better.:flower3: :flower3:

Sounds like a steal with the airline tickets.:thumbsup2

We once again want to remind you that you could Dine with the Captain (early Dining) or Crews Dining (late Dining) but you must make your mark either with K or Cheryl (that would be emailing Goofyforlife at Goofyforlife@yahoo.com for Captains Dining or micmsecheryl@yahoo.com for Crews Dining .....And dont you be worrying about anything messing up your poor reservation as nothing will be linked till we are closer to 60 days before me ship sails ...Now what say You !! I say AYE ............ Savvy!!

We'll be at HoJos on the 15th & 16th. Unfortunately, I think we'll only get to do DL on the 16th.

I am at the Carousel Inn and Suites for the 15 & 16 and doing DL on the 16th only.

All right, in West Chester, PA in order to get into town, you have to go in High. You come out Gay.

Thanks for the memories - that is where I went to college!

That's our plan also. Arrive mid-morning Friday, buy booze and last minute stuff, hang at the pool and maybe go to the ESPN Club for dinner and video games (unless there is a semi-official outside the park pirate thing happening). If you join the ESPN Club online before you go, you get a free game card and a discount on dinner. I think the kids would like that and as I recall there is a bar upstairs in the video game area. :) Wanna come?

I may need someone to save my bar stool...

Where is there a place to by booze around DL? Inquiring minds would like to know!

I might have missed the discussion, but I need help! How is everyone getting from the DL area to the Port on Sunday? all the car rental agencies I have looked at are closed on Sunday am?
Is there still plans for a group bus?
Thanks much!

I am doing the transfer from the Grand Californian to the port.

I am torn on this - especially since I am solo. I currently have early dinning, but have requested late - therefore on a waitlist. I guess I will just wait till closer to the cruise and see if I got transfered to late dinning and let you all know then.

To all who are  - get well soon.

We went to the start - the real start in the middle of nowhere, Willow, AK, not the ceremonial start (i.e. parade) in Anchorage. The traditional Check Point One is about a mile from our Alaska house.

DS9 wants to get more sled dogs and enter the Jr. Iditarod when he is 16. I say one displaced sled dog in Virginia is enough!

The dog blogs are really cute for kids: http://iditarodblogs.com/zuma/

Yeah, we've got the Ice Dog cred.

I thought I read somewhere before that the late dining has a waitlist on the EB Repo cruise, but that main dining does not. Why is that? We currently have late dining as we were nervous about always having to rush to get ready for dinner (on our last cruise we had to be there by 5:45). However, I have to admit I'm a little nervous about late dining with three kids who are used to eating before 7 every night.

Hey all! Hope everyone is doing OK. I see that alot of you are coming in on Thur Aug 14th. We are too. Unfortunately out flight out leaves at 8:30 AM our time. Was trying to get a later flight out, but this flight was cheaper. I appreciate all the info on where to get DL tkts. I was going to get them at our local Disney store, but if there are issues with buying them there I'll look somewhere else.

I guess it is who you talk to at DCL on which dining time has a waitlist. ;) I missed most of the pirate night when I had an 8:30 seating!! We are trying to link for the 8:00 pm. which I have had before. I found this perfect but we are only two adults.( I am still a kid at heart)

We do have several families with children for Crew Dining. You have time to decide!!:flower3: Just let us know before we link the thread dining which time you want.:grouphug:

Just so everyone is aware that DL has E-tickets available. We have used them before and it is kind of nice to print them at home and not have to stand in any lines. If the ticket you want is available online I would highly suggest doing this. Here is a FAQ about them. I am not sure if WDW has this option.
