It doesn't look like we'll be able to PIF today either... :sad2: I got the email from Dreams around 1pm and emailed our TA there before 2pm, but I guess they must be swamped since I haven't had any reply. I need to remove the transfers from the California end of the trip before we can PIF - otherwise there isn't any point since they will hit us for the port charges when we make that change later. I guess I should have taken care of it earlier - just didn't expect to suddenly "need" to PIF early. I thought I still had 2 months to take care of it.

Pamela

Dreams Unlimited comes through again!!! :thumbsup2

A Dreams agent contacted me just before 8 Eastern that they were removing the transfers and I would get the updated balance "soon" and she would be sure it was processed if I paid it then. That balance email arrived about 10 minutes AFTER 8 Eastern, so I emailed back and asked if I would still save the port fees if I paid then. She said, Yes - she would make certain it was processed today. So I've done it and we are PIF!!!! (Well, like many others we now have a Disney Visa balance to pay off!)

:woohoo: :woohoo: :yay: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: :cheer2: :hyper: party: :jumping1:

But that doesn't explain how payments will be posted. I've seen so many people complaining that if they had a balance and a vacation charge, that the payments posted to the vacation charge first. I've never paid close enough attention to my own to know for sure.

I can only tell you my experience with the January 2007 deposit for this cruise that I put on my Disney Visa.

I pay in full my current charges every month, so I don't carry a balance.

For the six months after the deposit was charged, my payment went to the current balance, but if I had a credit and paid in full, the extra $ went to the cruise balance. For example, if I charged $100 at merchant xxx and after then returned it, but the bill came out in meantime, the $100 went to cruise because next bill would show $1,000 balance from prior month $1,000 payment, $100 refund and new charges of $1,000. So its $1100 on a prior balance of $1000, they sent new bill for $1000 not $900 and applied the $100 to cruise balance. Otherwise, no problems

Congrats!!!!

Well I spoke too soon. Now I am doing the PIF dance!!!
I just checked my email and I now show PIF!
I feel bad. My TA has been trying to call me all night. Apparantly my phone is turned down too low to hear.
My TA was quite upset as she said she was not notified at all about this increase from DCL.

DVC Member Alert

The new Disney Files magazine has a list of DL restaurants that give DVC members a 10% discount including the Blue Bayou (is that where y'all are eating soon?)

Also an article on the new show on board the Wonder - Toy Story the Musical.

I know Todd is a DVC member, maybe we will let him pick up the tab. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Since I posted hippie Bill and Hill a few weeks back, I have to provide equal time:

This is sad - I have no comment at all - good or bad - someone quick help. :lmao:

are you sure that's not one of the jackson 5 ?

Thank God - A Savior! :rotfl:

OK that is just awesome. Can I ask how tall this is? I love it!

At its tallest - Goofy - its about 18 inches tall - Goofy being the tallest and about 18 inches wide - a weird ellipitical type oval. The rest of the characters are only about 10-11 inches all.

Look everyone! Crash has a new freak flag!

LOL - Crash - finally someone "crashed" you and with your own work too! :lmao: :rotfl2:

I think I'm actually staying caught up with most of you. Thanks for the info today -- we decided to go ahead and pay-in full as well. For the five of us, this saves $75 plus with the interest free for 6 months, we can still keep the cash and earn a little extra.

The only reason for us hesitating was that we were getting nervous as this is the most we've ever spent on a vacation and were starting to second guess the decision. However, the emotional side keeps coming back to say "go for it!"

Good - and the fact that you would have missed sailing with us! :lovestruc

Roger - should I bring my and DH's card? I finally got my replacement card and I just saw DH's no the floor by his nightstand. He doesn't realize how precious that thing is.

Just passing through...

... had an interesting day of sorts... we ran into town for as "open" casting call for "extras" to appear in a McDonalds TV commercial for the Summer Olympics .... if we were selected then it would have paid $590 plus residuals. Unfortunately, when we arrived they had closed the audition as they had a lot of people show up. However, we ended up chatting with a few folks about auditions and so on. This has been something we were curious about as something fun and productive to investigate. A few kids at Juliannas' school take several absences to audition for various gigs through out the year... and this was our first attempt. Now that I've picked up some useful info - we may be attending a few more casting calls in the future.

Aside from that, since we did not get to attending the casting call... we had already decided we could do some grocery shopping at a Chinese Market and catch a nice dinner from a good Chinese restuarant... the likes of which we don't have out where we live. So - the place we dined at had a $6.95 deal for 2 live lobsters 1-1.25 pounds each prepared in any number of tradional methods... of which we selected Ginger and Green Onions. To get this deal however you have to get 3 more dishes off thier not so cheap menu. We've dined here once before and felt their portion sizes were generous in spite of the prices... so we ordered oysters in Ginger and Green Onions, a seafood "hot pot" with fried tofu, and a sauteed rock cod with veggie dish. All told it came to $43 which seemed like a bargain considering the lobsters sell for roughly $11 a pound in the local Chinese Supermarkets in LA. So lobster alone was worth about $25 to us.

Aside from that - I spent the day hanging out with my spouse as she worked. We took a sort of late long lunch together just casually chatting then we sort of window shopped a little before we went to pick up the kids. And right then we got the call from a friend about the casting call. So we ran into town to try our hand at it. Oh well... you all know how that turned out. ;)

At any rate, I hope everyone else had as pleasurable a day as we had today... and if not then I sure hope one of the next 3 days appraoches or exceeds how our day went today!

TTFN!

Look everyone! Crash has a new freak flag!

For the record ... that rainbow flag is not exactly "MY" Freak Flag...

and if I had one (the one I did have is LOCKED on the original thread unfortunately)... it might resemble this one somewhat...

OK...

... we've NOT paid off yet, nor have we booked ANYTHING like air fares, ground transport or hotel while in Orlando... and we figure on bringing several of those soft sided coolers with which to pack Mickey Ice Cream Bars which we'll sell on the beaches in Mexico and so on. So I figure on hauling 4 coolers (4 kids) and lets see... in say 5 ports (minus castaway caye where I'm likely ta get busted selling Mickey Bars) ... if I can haul 35 bars per cooler... 4 coolers ... and sell TWO cooler loads (8 total) per port... at say $4 per bar with NO spoilage or losses from melting... that comes to 8 loads x 5 ports = 40 coolers of 35 bars = 1,700 bars at $4.50 = $7,250! Which just about covers the cruise and gratuities.... except I've got an on-board rebooking discount, DCL and TA cabin credits... so I actually have a little Ice Cream scalpin' scratch left over for Sutters or maybe some of those plastic jewel bags from the ships' gift shop.... and I've got funds left over to pay for the 4 soft sided coolers!

Sooo..... I'll NOT be worrying about anything I pay Disney now for sailing. The time value of money here is gonna be a "push" if I do the Mickey Bar "soft shoe" slide...

At the Jersey Shore the ice cream vendors yell, "get your fudgey wudgey here" so what will you be yelling ? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Finally got the kids' ID's taken care of. If anybody else is trying to set up their kids (under 13) with a DIS account, go through the steps to set them up, including creating their ID and password. Then e-mail Webmaster Corey at corey@wdwinfo.com and give him the DIS ID. (I also gave him the e-mail account that goes with it. I don't know if he needed that or not.) He got back to me saying they were all set.

thanks for the info Mike

Snow eating now endangered kid pleasure

I can't wait for the city/county/state law prohibiting snow consumption.
Or the psycho-hyper competitive moms shunning me for letting my kids catch snowflakes on their tongues.

I don't know how we all survived childhood!:lmao: I remember riding in the back of a pick-up truck and riding in the back of a station wagon with <gasp> no seat belts!:scared1: Of course we didn't have helmets for bicycling, of course that wouldn't of prevented me from jumping on the back of a bike and getting my heel caught in the spokes! Of course those were the days when it was a rare treat to go to McDonalds!

We spent a good chunk of summer building bike ramps out of scrap wood and rusty nails then jumping over each other on our bikes! We were also gasp allowed to run on the playground at school. My kids can't. :confused3

One good note from PIF, the receipt I got has all the same ports and times as last updated by DCL, so no changes yet
...at least not that they'd bothered to tell us yet...

Tina, as soon as I saw the word "PIF" I was transported back to the days when I did third-party debt collections, now that was :scared1: job!

That just sounds like an aweful way to earn a paycheck.
I had a friend who was a debt collector for a bank after college. They all used aliases (same first name, made up last name). When he got a job in the field he really wanted to work in he had an Irish Wake for his alter ego. It was fun.

DS10 will eat $60 worth of bacon if I let him. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh no. Picture slow motion chase scene at buffet opening - Clashdude vs. sk8ingboy...cue Chariots of Fire score.

My DS7 is a total bacon boy.
