I love the great picture!!!:thumbsup2 You look great Kristina!!:flower3:

Being that Mark is in Germany, I decided to follow up on the tax thing for us. I just got off the phone with our TA and they confirmed the tax increase of $5 per Mexican port and that the total would be $15.00 per person. So for us it is $90. If we pay in full today then we don't have to pay the tax.
Now I am just waiting for the boss to call me back and let me know how to pay but I think I might be with Cheryl that I make more then that in interest by keeping my $$ where they are for now.
I just wonder how many times we are going to see these little increases between now and sail. I am not the OCD planner in the family and mostly just want to be told where we are going and what to pack so I don't really know much about the details but thanks for posting the information Andy.

I am hoping Disney Visa will offer an extra reward for traveling in the next quarter!!!:cloud9: :cloud9: Wish ful thing but you never know!!!:confused3

Just to let you know the info that has been posted on the planning boards, here are the active topics.

Thank you both Tom and ED!!!!:worship: :worship: You all deserve a drink from all of us!!!:rolleyes1 ( I would be glad to help you drink any you can't handle :lmao: )

Sorry, could not resist. I admit I am a pirate: . I really felt bad that you could not see those photos at work and wondering all day what everyone was talking about. I owe you a mug of ale for that.

But it was sooooooooooooofunny!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

So after my response from DCL about booking problems that was a form letter (others got same), I asked
Today's response:

So another words Blah...blah...blah.. There standard response.:sad2:

Well then, that involves a bit of imagination and ingenuity - OH! And a thing called a Sugar Daddy (and not not the candy) or Sugar Momma whatever the case may be! Hey don't knock it til you try it! (Just Kidding Steve - I puckerup: u!

Yeah well, I've heard your all good at that! As for me.......I COULD NEVER DO THAT - I'm just too nice a person. :lmao: :lmao:

Cough...cough...cough..:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

Well, on the one hand I'm paid in full, so I'm bragging.

But on the other hand, I have to pay it off, so complaining.
But then on the other hand, I get a bunch of Mickey bucks, so bragging.....

I think you were smart paying it off.:thumbsup2 You have an extra two people to worry about!!! I am getting extra Mickey bucks for fixing my furnace, buying a washer and dryer, and using my Visa to pay for all the drugs we take every month.

sorry, I must not be paying attention. Same username & password that I already use on pirate zone or do I need a new one??

you'll need to register there as a new user, but most of us are using the same name ...... will I added something to mine, but you still know its me

I asked DH earlier today if he wanted to pay off cruise & he said no. He was at work & couldn't talk. So he gets home & I ask, "Can I just ask your reasoning of wanting to wait when we can save $60?" So he then says, go ahead & pay it. Well if I paid my credit card earlier today it would've posted today, but now it won't post till tomorrow. Do you think it's still safe to go ahead & pay in full even though my credit card won't actually cover it till tomorrow? :confused3

My TA wanted all payments by 3pm EST to be safe.

I decided not to PIF today and now I'm wondering if I made the right decision. It's just a matter of 1 day which is making it so frustrating. I get paid tomorrow and it will be a pretty good check with some back pay and my annual bonus. That was going to cover the existing balance on my Disney Visa. Then when that was clear, I'd be ready to pay the cruise. I didn't want to put the cruise on the Visa until I've cleared the balance because of the way they apply payments. They apply to the lowest APR first, so if you have a balance of regular purchases and a balance of Disney vacation, any payments will post to the vacation, so you don't get the full 6 months 0 APR.

It doesn't look like we'll be able to PIF today either... :sad2: I got the email from Dreams around 1pm and emailed our TA there before 2pm, but I guess they must be swamped since I haven't had any reply. I need to remove the transfers from the California end of the trip before we can PIF - otherwise there isn't any point since they will hit us for the port charges when we make that change later. I guess I should have taken care of it earlier - just didn't expect to suddenly "need" to PIF early. I thought I still had 2 months to take care of it.

And last but not least:

OK that is just awesome. Can I ask how tall this is? I love it!

I was thinking of paying off too but I also have a balance on my Disney Visa that needs to be paid off first. Oh well... gives me more motivation to pay that off and then give the "new" balance full benefits.

DVC Member Alert

The new Disney Files magazine has a list of DL restaurants that give DVC members a 10% discount including the Blue Bayou (is that where y'all are eating soon?)

Also an article on the new show on board the Wonder - Toy Story the Musical.

I can't PIF either, I'm just gonna have to eat $60 worth of more food. :lmao:

Math Alert!!!!

Lets see ...I owe DCl about $6000.00 at 5% interest a year(mine is in a CD)that is $300 a year. The interest for a year is $300 divided by 12 equal $25 a month. I have a little over two months to pay it. I will be earning Over $50 interest for those two months. I owe DCL $5.00 a port x 3 ports = $15.00 times 2 people = $30.00. The interest of $50 minus the $30 in port taxes means I am still $20 ahead by not paying off early!!!! I will not be paying my money early.:grouphug:

OK...

... we've NOT paid off yet, nor have we booked ANYTHING like air fares, ground transport or hotel while in Orlando... and we figure on bringing several of those soft sided coolers with which to pack Mickey Ice Cream Bars which we'll sell on the beaches in Mexico and so on. So I figure on hauling 4 coolers (4 kids) and lets see... in say 5 ports (minus castaway caye where I'm likely ta get busted selling Mickey Bars) ... if I can haul 35 bars per cooler... 4 coolers ... and sell TWO cooler loads (8 total) per port... at say $4 per bar with NO spoilage or losses from melting... that comes to 8 loads x 5 ports = 40 coolers of 35 bars = 1,700 bars at $4.50 = $7,250! Which just about covers the cruise and gratuities.... except I've got an on-board rebooking discount, DCL and TA cabin credits... so I actually have a little Ice Cream scalpin' scratch left over for Sutters or maybe some of those plastic jewel bags from the ships' gift shop.... and I've got funds left over to pay for the 4 soft sided coolers!

Sooo..... I'll NOT be worrying about anything I pay Disney now for sailing. The time value of money here is gonna be a "push" if I do the Mickey Bar "soft shoe" slide...

Seriously, we've not even considered the DCL trip expenses yet. Last nite I just booked our hotel for San Diego in a couple of weeks. After a couple days of review we tried PRICELINE and got a 3 star in La Jolla called the Hotel La Jolla at the Shores for only $83. Against the Home Page rates for my dates of travel ($169) I'll save enough for a "Seaside Mango Sugar Scrub" and reflexology session ... excluding gratuity!

Trip Adisor: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUser...a_at_the_Shores-La_Jolla_California.html#TOPC has a decent mix of remarks (+ / -).... and thier home page has nice photos and videos with a few interesting remarks on featured promotions: http://www.hotellajolla.com/index.html

Thier site speaks of a "Girls Nite Out" package and under "Diversity Travel" it touts that you can bring your "Pride Flag" to hang from you balcony... Hmmm... now exactly WHAT is a Pride Flag? Let's google it because I have a nagging suspicion...

pride%20flag.jpg

OK... it seems I've managed to somehow book myself into a PRICELINE discount "Diversity" hotel... or loitering place for folks with Bi-diversity inclinations. The roof top restuarant and club may be something to worry about??? What do ya think? < wunk ... as opposed to winking >

Seriously, I look upon everyone as having the freeedom to do as they wish as it is a FREE spirited ... and FREE thinking countries we live in ... right? On the other hand ... I may be asking a few guys at the hotel to please stop staring at me and please don't stand so close to me... and "No"... I'm not homophobic and ... and ... and ... I'm NOT interested in getting a drink with ya... but thank you just the same.

So, we've been having fun with this a our house, so I thought I would share.
Iditarod started on Sunday. Now granted, my kids are way more into sled dogs than your average kids (how many mushers can your kids name??), but we are having fun reading the Dog Blogs on the Iditarod web site:

Also, if you are interested, they have lots of kid stuff (sshhh, it can be educational) here: http://www.iditarod.com/teachers/resources.html

My DH called Chase Visa & they said my payment wouldn't post till after midnight & if I tried to charge before that time it would be considered an overdraft so we decided not to take the chance. Now I sent a payment to my Visa for nothing & I would've preferred to have it in my checking account. I wish they gave us a little more notice. :sad2:

I wonder if Arlene can verify. There have been tons of complaints on the Budget board about this. I'm ashamed to admit that I don't pay that much attention to mine, I just pay the bill.
