Can you post a picture when you get out and on display?

That would be great Paula! Like I said, I'd really rather do it with you guys than with DCL. It sounds like a better fit than the excursion offered through them.

Will do Mike later this evening. For some  reason, some idiot (that would be me ::yes::) decided to torture my body for 10 more sessions in the vain attempt to look good for this bunch (and a few others) I am seriously contemplating asking my dd to have a doc check me out. Anyway, my first session starts today in ...ummm.......30 minutes - and guess where I am? In sweats, t -shirt and just ate lunch.

GARWSH! Why do I do this to myself???? Ta Ta for now people - will report back later with pictures! :cutie:

We are so excited. Weatherman says sn*w is on it way!!! :cool1: :cool1:
The way we get sn*w is so cool. Beautiful white fluffy stuff that melts the exact second it hits the ground. I will try to run out and take pictures if it is still daylight before it gets here. Tonight only 32 and tomorrow in 40's or 50's so it will not stick around long.

We had it this morning, came down like slush. This was after we had a wild night with Tornado Sirens going off!!! Only in Oklahoma....

Wonder if it was mailed from CC? That would explain the 8 month shipping time.:lmao:

Makes sense. It took 2.5 months for a postcard to travel from CC to Connecticut.

Gosh, I was really excited that I could drive home from work with the top down (the car's, not mine!)

Enjoy your temporary snow!

Laurie had asked about using probiotics to help prevent or reduce the severity of traveler's diarrhea. I e-mailed one of my professors who teaches the natural products course to get some info.

Here is what I e-mailed her:

"I will be going on a cruise that will include some Mexican ports. Someone else on the cruise asked me about using probiotics to help prevent traveler's diarrhea. (We'll be eating while on an excursion in the jungle in Puerto Vallarta.) I tried to find out some info about it, but there's not a whole lot out there.

Do you know if this could help? I guess the theory is more good bacteria makes it harder for the bad bacteria to take hold and multiply. If it is worth taking, is there a particular strain or dosage that you would recommend? "

And here is her reply:

"Several things come to mind. First, the probiotics do
help and should help in this situation. You need LOTS of
bugs, though. I would go to GNC or some such place. They
usually have many formulations. Get a combination of
Lactobacillus acidophilus and some species of
Bifidobacterium. Get the product that has this combination
in the highest concentration. I would take two (tablets or
capsules) three times a day.
I would also do my best to minimize contact with water,
although you may not be able to stay away completely, given
that you are eating on land. Maybe you could take some
bottled water with you on the tour. "

I think we'll be trying this as well. I'll be sure to follow the manufacturer's dosing recommendations, and starting low and building up ahead of the trip.

I guess we'll have to make sure we all don't flush the dcl toilets at the same time. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Wait, don't go -- I think Dr. Who did something to your monorail . . .:lmao:

Just passing through. TOnite at the local Agoura Hills Library they're marking a Dr Seuss birthday of some sort - so I'm taking the kids over to join in group readings, refreshments and games. Then tomorrow I'm planning on taking my older daughter and a girlfriend of hers to see the SpiderWick Chronicles at an IMAX theater.

At any rate, I gotta run now - finish some gardening - cook some supper for the kids and pick them up early so we can make the Dr Seuss thing tonite.

It is getting late and I did not have much time for this but could not resist.

Although the wenches would probably prefer the more relaxed Mr. Gibbs.

Paybacks are a witch!

Funny thing was, I can't see photobucket at work due to filtering software, so I had to wait to come home to see.

I just got an email, but I'm not sure if I can post it here:confused3

Is this the e-mail you were talking about?

The Government taxes on our cruise have been increased $5.00 per person, per Mexican Port.

Seeing this multiple places. Applies to the WB Carribeans too.

Only $85 more and they get the full $100 PC Tax?

Hi Andy, LTNS, hope all is well.

Hi Andy, LTNS, hope all is well.

Doing well here, just very busy with Angelina's school musical, her prom, her Chicago trip, getting ready for her graduation and her graduation party.

While Angelina is in Chicago, Hazel and I are planning a short get-away to our Florida vacation home...........:goodvibes

Hi Andy, we've been missing you around here:goodvibes

Hi Paula--with everything going on with work, Angelina and trying to keep up with the 10/24/09 thread, I don't have time to try and keep up with the Repo thread(s). I just happened to get the e-mail about the new port fees, I dropped by to see if anyone else had posted the info.
