Our daffodils came up a couple of weeks ago and it is suppose to be in the 80's tomorrow. I will send this weather your way Lorri.

They're beautiful! Thanks Roger:goodvibes

I got this email from US Air tonight.

Today, US Airways announced a change to our baggage policy. Beginning May 5, 2008, we'll charge $25 for a second checked bag. The new fee applies to travel on or after May 5 for tickets purchased on or after February 26, 2008.

We're making these changes to offset record fuel prices and rising airline related expenses. We simply must make changes to the way we do business to provide all of you with the high level of service that you've come to expect from US Airways. Also, we're doing all we can to keep fares low. With this policy change, we're able to give you the choice to avoid the fee and pack fewer items. With fewer bags to process, we save both money and fuel and can pass that savings on to you.

Dividend Miles Preferred members are exempt from the fee, and we're also waiving the fee for:

Confirmed First Class and Envoy passengers
Passengers with Star Alliance Silver or Gold status
Active military personnel in uniform and with ID
Unaccompanied minors
Passengers checking personal assistive devices
Need more details?
We've put together a list of questions and answers with policy details and other information. Or, you can take a look at our baggage policies.

Thank you for supporting US Airways. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you again soon.

I figured it would only be a matter of time before the other airlines followed United's lead. I would expect that we will be seeing this from Delta, American, Contiental and Northwest shortly.

Tom, sent me a PM, so I sent it to him that way.
I made it up as I went along...

You need:
Stuff to make rice krispie treats
white chocolate chips
gummy worms (chopped into pieces)
fruit by the foot (green or tie die)
white frosting mixed with green food coloring (wasabi color)
Swedish Fish

For Sushi:
Make regular rice krispie treats
Spread into onto a cookie sheet about 1" thick
while the treats are still warm, cut into 1" circles (shhhh....I used a shot glass)
Melt white chocolate chips & brush the top of a circle with the chocolate.
Wrap with a length of fruit by the foot.
Place 2-3 gummy worm pieces in center.
Top with a glob of 'wasabi' frosting.
Repeat over, and over, and over again until you regret the decision to make this stuff...

For Sashimi:
Cut treats into rectangles.
Brush top and sides with white chocolate.
Top with 1 Swedish fish
Wrap with 1/2-width of fruit by the foot.

I am soo into those! My favorite things, rice crispie treats and swedish fish, and then together with white chocolate!!! :hyper: :hyper: :faint:
My kids would love these! Thanks for posting the recipe.

I'm going to be sorry I read THIS first thing this morning!
I hope it doesn't set the tone for my entire day.
Not even going to start in on how mad that makes me. They charge more than Southwest, and have PLENTY of surcharges and taxes. They limit our carry-ons...and now THIS??

Okay....B R E A T H E .............

I would be so upset about this too. We just booked our airfare to LA yesterday, I will have to double check to see if these changes have already affected us. Not to mention that even if it doesn't, depending on who we go with on the way BACK from MCO, it could still affect us anyway.
I love how they word it as better customer service, and making it better for us....whatever!

I figured it would only be a matter of time before the other airlines followed United's lead. I would expect that we will be seeing this from Delta, American, Contiental and Northwest shortly.

So do you think its better to buy our tickets before this change is implemented? Or will it affect everyone no matter when they purchased tickets?

DCL has confirmed no romance package on the repo cruises. And I think they are only taking wait list for upgrades to the suites, but I may be wrong on that.

Thanks to you and Julie. Guess we will just have to hope for the best on a cabin upgrade. We are not waiting (perhaps wishing) for an upgrade to a suite, just to a cat 4 from a 5. Is the best advice to stay in touch with our TA?

Time to work.

On how much the airline thinks it can get away with. The pattern so far seems to be to make the announcement about 3 months before the change goes into effect.

The next change will be charging for assigned seats!

Travelling by air is now like being on a bus with wings.

Airtran already charges you to pick your seat in advance.

Hi Marian, Yes, I would just keep in touch with your TA if you are still hoping to go for a cat 4 . . . the problem I would see is that even if it opens up, the cat 4 will be at the much higher price charged now rather than what it would have gone for the first day . . . but it never hurts to find out how much if it becomes available, since you can always say no. Good luck!

2 thoughts, one - on the website there are links to a couple of companies that do this kind of insurance.

Two- I usually find USAA's rates hard to beat on anything

They are yummy, easy to make and fun, the kids did most of it and loved it.

I am so bummed they are not offering the REAS package. I was hoping to suprise my fiance with it since it will be our Honeymoon. Now I will have to research to see what other romantic ideas I can come up with, I am far from creative!!!

That sucks that the airline is charging for the second bag now, flying just got even more expensive. Ugh.

I really the idea of the contract that Tom and M came up with for allowing kids sign-out priveleges from the Lab. We're still nervous about it, but I think we'll let the older boy sign out. He will have turned 11 about a week and a half before the cruise. I know we won't let him swim in the Goofy pool without us, just because it can get really wild in there. As far as the twins, I really don't think either one of them is ready at 8, so they'll have to page us. I'm sure we'll give them some freedoms once we spring them, but I think we can control it a little bit better if we sign them out.

This is a drive by posting. I'm off to a Billy Joel concert tonight, and travelling for work the rest of the week. Might have a chance to do a little catch up Thursday night.

-------------------------------------------------

The new sample is here!!

Here are pictures of the black t-**** with the black outline. This is a 2XL, thus the need to wear a sweatshirt underneath for the modeling pictures.

The t-****'s look great Esteri! Thanks for doing so much work to put this together. (And you too Todd for the design!:thumbsup2 )

I was only thinking of getting the white ones, now I may reconsider!

I know that Stacey had posted info previously about a limo service that she is using but I don't remember the name. You could pm her (justmestace) and I'm sure that she would help you out. Also, Tom may have already added this to the website.

Stacey is going with Pronto Limo (I think it's www.prontolimo.com ). This is based on great service on the phone as well as good reports from others who have used them. We'll probably use them from the airport to DLH when we get to CA. PM justmestace to get her last name, and mention it to the folks at Pronto Limo when you call them.

Sorry - lost Monica's quote. I just meant that its sad - partly my fault - but you all will hear me doing this now: :mic: every few days for the amount of adults doing this - although I can understand what with all the uncertainty of whether people will be cruising or not.

Anyway, things are starting to look up now!

Hi Laura! I'll PM you too. I know you said that you were pretty sure that you have someone who offered to help you with this. If you still need help, let me know. I'm a little busy with school right now, but will have some more free time once I start rotations at the end of May, so I'd be glad to help out if you need it.

oh, I so want to post something I can't post, but I crack myself up.
I was trying to think of another callback and my brain is stuck on what you yell at the screen during Rocky Horror Picture Show every time Janet is introduced...

YIKES!:scared1:

Repeat over, and over, and over again until you regret the decision to make this stuff...

That's pretty much the last step in most recipes we make with kids

I'm watching the sales as I cannot find one of my bags.:confused3 Deciding whether to get a big bag or a suiter. There definately is a box being sent to LA.

Do you know that they will be accepting boxes that are shipped ahead, and do you have the address at the port? I know they do this at Port Canaveral, and I'm hoping that it's OK at LA too.

So do you think its better to buy our tickets before this change is implemented? Or will it affect everyone no matter when they purchased tickets?

It sounds like it only affects newly purchased tickets after the change goes into effect. I'm guessing that Continental will follow suit, and hope that it doesn't change our luggage limits, since we already bought our tickets. We haven't booked return flights yet (hoping for a good price on SW), so it may affect us on that end of the trip.

Happy Wednesday pirate:

The t-s***** look great :thumbsup2 It's been a while ... but did we talk tank tops too :confused3

I think the most annoying thing about airlines now charging for that 2nd bag is that the amount of carry-on luggage will increase again. People will start carrying the largest possible size carry ons and cramming as much into them as possible. To be honest, unless I'm seated in the bulkhead row ... I don't even bother attempting to put carry-on's into the overhead bins ... there's never enough room. I just sit cramped into my seat with my laptop bag and my purse stuffed under the seat in front of me (gotta love business travel  )

The kid contracts look good!! I like that my kids will meet other kids with *mean* parents too :thumbsup2

This what we are thinking too Mike. I think that the contract will be great for DD13 (do they have check-out restrictions for the ST club? :confused3 ) but DD7 almost 8 will not be allowed to check herself out.

Mike I think SW has already changed their policy from 3 bags to 2 bags, so you should be OK there.

So, I get home from work tonight to find DS10 "forgot" he had a project due tomorrow on the life of Marco Polo, complete with the need to dress up like the historical figure. I think the Harry Potter robe looks exactly like what Marco Polo would have worn. Don't you? aye, yie, yie.

Hey that works for me. :wizard: DD has done that a couple of times and expects me to drop everything. We are working on science fair right now.

I'll be there to cheer you on!:cool1:
:lmao: :lmao: [/COLOR]

Bring the First Aid Kit!

I'm not signing that one either!

We are the parents, we don't have to sign. It's never too early for kids to learn about the double standard! :lmao:

Sounds like my house....

"Dad, the project in xxx was due today, but 3 of the eight kids thought it was due next week"

"Were those the two you are always talking with instead of paying attention?"

"Ummmm... yea..."

or the younger

"Dad, I need to call Mom, she put my cursive work somewhere"
"Did you look for it?"
"Yes, everywhere."
"In your homework folder?"
with attitude "Yes!"
Call to Mom.... "I put it in his homework folder"
"Let me see your homework folder"
"Oh.............. I forgot it, can I go watch tv?"
NOT!

DD gets huffy when I tell her to look in her backpack. Sometimes it is actually where it is supose to be!:rotfl:

You can dance barefoot on the table tops but don't forget I get the top of the piano!!!;) ;)

It's all yours!

And we'll have the video camera to tape it!:thumbsup2

Um, stick to the code, "What happens on board stays on board." I don't want to see anything showing up on U Tube!:scared1:
