My tiara came in the mail today:cool1:
I spent about 5.50 plus shipping, but I like it:goodvibes

6279_1.JPG

Darren sees it and laughs and goes "Where are you going to wear it?".
I tell him on the cruise on formal night and that lots of others are wearing them too.
He says "Are you sure they're not just yanking your chain?"

I tell him No, they posted pictures and everything:guilty:

When you see him on the cruise, just ask him where his tiara is;)

yeah, we're a community of chain yankers.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: nice tiara :thumbsup2

Haven't been to my local Target yet, but a deal website is reporting that Target has the green Olympus SW790 on clearance for $149.99. This is the point and shoot that is waterproof to 10ft.

I will be checking a few Targets tonight. I wasn't in the market for a new camera but I like the under water feature. Right now I just use disposables when snorkeling.

Hey Monica - my local Target had the green one about 3 weeks ago - they are now out of it. At that time it was $189.99. BTW, was in Sam's today - they had the Olympus 770SW - on clearance for $269.99. AS IS - with a warning - if pamphlet/borchures are missing - that is the buyer's responsibility to get. So in hindsight - I now understand the store manager's distress at my buying the 790SW for $180. Then to get a new battery out of her! I guess I did well! The one I got was the orange one. If someone buys it and prefers an orange one - I'd be willing to trade for a green one! :lmao:

Good luck finding one - let us know - can't beat the shock-proof claim for the camera if you tend to drop things.

When I was young and stupid(no comments), I was poked 42 times while nurses were looking for my veins. :sad2: I now only give someone two trys and they need to find someone else to draw my blood. ;) Has anyone ever used butterflies to draw blood from you??? I just say before anyone comes near me.....go get a butterfly and I have hard to find veins. :rolleyes1

OMG CHERYL! :scared1: Are you sure we are not related? Only once in my entire life has anyone been able to get any blood from me on the first time AND w/o leaving me a bloody bruising mess! This is starting to get scary!!!!! Maybe we were supposed to be twins but were separated by time and I was forgotten???????? So they felt sorry for me and put me here only to meet a couple years later? Well, it could happen!

And yes - I do ask them to withdraw blood with a butterfly - which they hate and tend to not believe me. 3 is my max before I get :furious:

I have been looking at that one and the 770 (which is more money). That is a great price. As Olympus roles out their next line of these cameras hopefully there will be more price drops.

OK Roger - we will all keep an eye out - my niece wants a digital camera for her birthday and with the prices dropping like flies - may end up having to get her one. I am her godmother and aunt all rolled into one. Poor child! :sad2: :lmao:

Anyway, EVERYONE - keep us on alert!

BTW, Thanks Monica - I have about 3 Targets within a 5 mile radius of me that I can look at. Maybe I'll venture out in the rain if I get brave! :rotfl2:

Oh yeah - DH feels much better - out of bed for the first time in a week, so what does he want to do? Go to work? Naw - he's itching to go to the Commerce Casino and play poker. Oh well, as long as he wins I'm ok with it!

Cheryl my wife is suppose to be one of those nurses that can get an IV in on anyone. If she can hit a vein on a one pound premie then I guess she could get one in on us big people.

Can I request her next time I need blood taken Roger? :rotfl:

Lisa you are scaring off all of the new people. :scared1: :lmao:

OMG! Your all a bunch of freaks - thank God I'm not sailing with you all!

:scared1: Wait - I am - NOOOOOOO! That makes me a freak!

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!

I'm another one of those hard to stick people. If I'm in a hospital, I always ask for a trauma nurse, they're usually pretty good at it, too.

At the doc's office I'm stuck (ha...no pun intended) with whoever they have...so I do like Cheryl and tell them to get the butterfly.

DH and DD both have what they refer to as rolling veins. He usually gives them 2 tries and then tells them to go for the hand. The nurse at his Neuro is new. She is AWFUL!!!!!! I watched her stick him 5x:scared1: and I kept walking out ready for him to read her the riot act. I was watching her twist the needle around saying "I almost got it" 2 days later this was the result

HOORAY!!!!!!!!

It's about time

They had to change DDs flight as she never would have made her connection in DC. So they sent her to Delta. They picked her for a random search and she just made the gate 5 min before the doors closed. Note to all..... Do not ever travel with my daughter. She has the Worst luck with planes.

DS10 is trying to figure out how to cost effectively build roads with embedded electromagnets for his hover craft technology. (that he plans to invent)

DS10 is trying to figure out a way for air traffic control towers to send out power for the planes. Who knows, stranger things have been figured out...

When DS10 was about 6 and couldn't swim, the life guard at camp told him he could not go off the diving board if he was wearing a bubble, as in, kids who wear bubbles can't swim & therefore can't go off the diving board. DS heard, you can't go off the diving board if you're wearing a bubble...so, he took the bubble off & went off the diving board. Darn near drowned.

I'm glad it turned out OK. This is funny! Hope the lifeguard who wasn't clear is the one who had to jump in after him! DS10 tried to drown himself when I was due with with DS6. Someone else pulled him out the the pool, I wasn't moving fast enough. Delivered DS6 that night though.

So after more than a year on this thread, I can often predict the reaction to one of my comments...it's just a matter of who!

Still trying to figure out if that's a good thing or just scary. :scared1:

At least the Mickey fish doesn't come with a soundtrack.

And if it did, what soundtrack would it be??

I laughed out loud when I saw that. I already have the screen saved so I can make a door magnet of the Mickey head fish.

How perfect is that!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well, Crash has been busy lately, so here's my version of 7 questions:

1. Toe cleavage, yes or no? NOT!

2. (From last weeks chat) If you could have a superpower, what would it be? Hummmm. I'd want Superman's powers - very versatile.

3. What are three things we would be surprised to hear you never got around to, ever, on your disney cruise?
Never got in the pool, Never visited the spa, Never ordered a drink in a bar

4. (Inspired by M and her dream to be Tinkerbell) What disney charater would you want to live the life of ? Not walk around the parks dressed as, live the life of. Mulan - that girl went out and DID stuff

5. If all expenses were paid, which would you choose: the Grammys, the Oscars or the Nick Kids Choice Awards. I'll take the cash. Thanks.

6. If you could go back in time, just once, where would you go and who would you meet up with? I'd really like my boys to know their great grandparents. Though I really, really like Laurie's answer.

7. When you're thinking about your disney cruise (instead of working) what is your defining vision?
No taking the camper up and down; no fetching and carrying clean or dirty water; no figuring out what to feed the kids.
The kids clubs.
But mostly scuba diving with my new buddy - DS11!!! He wants to get his Junior Certification for his birthday.

Add my DH to the last of hard to find veins. I'll never forget the one time we were in the ER (work related) and they had to take blood to test him for HepC and it took quite a few trys - he finally told they tech to just take it out from his hand!

My mom's veins have been so trashed by all her surgeries they either take from her neck, or have to draw it very slowly by hand (no vacuum tubes).

so Cheryl, if we can get Roger in the pumps, can we get you on the piano?

Hey Roger - M has a friend who can tell you all the best places to get your new pumps!

We were taking the dogs out for a run yesterday afternoon along the American River. From the back seat (DS6) comes...

How much dirt can a dog dig?

Our answer...

How much dirt can a diggin' dog dig,
If a diggin' dog could dig dirt.
A diggin' dog would dig as much dirt as a diggin' dog could dig,
If a diggin' dog could dig dirt.
Dang dog.

Oh my gosh...poor MrScooby! I can imagine his reaction after the 10th person or so asked him where his tiara is!

Arlene - that is me about 5 hrs after taking blood. I bruise easily and it stays forever! Course - now I get my jollies by telling everyone that DH hit me! :scared1: Then I quickly tell them the truth - :scratchin funny how so many people tend to believe the lie rather than the truth! ;)

I did warn you guys that I have a very mishievious sense of humor? :maleficen

How much dirt can a diggin' dog dig,
If a diggin' dog could dig dirt.
A diggin' dog would dig as much dirt as a diggin' dog could dig,
If a diggin' dog could dig dirt.
Dang dog.

Don't sing it where the dogs can hear you - They may get ideas!!

OK, chiming in from the hard to get at veined folk...

The best way to prevent bruising is to apply direct pressure as soon as the technician will let you, elevate the arm & stay that way for 2-3 minutes. I, too, demand butterfly needles unless the phlebotomist is really good (and I know that). There was a point in my life where I needed to have my blood tested every couple of days and I learned the above trick to avoid having constant bruises on both arms.

OMG that cracked me up! Congrats Cheryl! :cool1:

9/10/01 cool answer!

That WAS a cool answer. I want to change mine now! :rolleyes1

My Answers:

Mr. Potato Head, because then I could pack my angry eyes instead of always wearing them.
or Elastagirl, a female role model for our times.

thanks for enabling me.;)

Too bad the tag fairy doesn't fly here anymore! :goodvibes

Does anyone else watch LOST,Survivor, and Celebrity Apprentice????? Let's hurry up with this!!!!;) ;) ;)

Nope none of the above! Tonight we used on demand & got "No Reservations" starring Catherine Zeta Jones & my eyes are all swolling and puffy from bawling! :sad1: It was a good one!

Very nice.

I'm definitely not pulling your chain. I already wear my tiara in the parks. You'll have proof once you see pictures from our March DL meet.

Struck out at all 3 targets I checked. I think everyone probably grabbed them up when they were first marked down. Very rarely do I see the great clearance prices at my Target that I see other's posting about.

Last month when I was dealing with my stuff, I had to have my blood work done almost every day (well it seemed that way). I thought I had found the good tech in the lab but the last time he took my blood, which coincently was the last time I needed it done, I had a big bruise after. :headache:

Aww....don't tell me that...just got in from Netflix, I'll be watching it this weekend.
