Crash - sending lots of :tink: and pixiedust: out your way  . Seems that news like this is hitting hard and exceptionally close to home. I will speak more of this come Friday. I'm dealing with a bit of bad news myself although looks like there may be a little ray of hope not much but we're grappling for it - more on this later.

Anyone else think this is hilarious? I wonder if he'll spew all over his monitor when he wakes up? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

HOWEVER, I will state that I'm glad it wasn't me who found the picture - hear that Andrew - I just discussed yet - (although only because I haven't found one yet! ;) )

Laura, keep me posted on your situation -- we had PMed about it earlier -- let me know if you want to talk.

I suspect you and I find the prospect of Andrew sleeping through all that funnier than most people do, but I'm definitely with you on this one . . .

Very well said!

Tom, I will be praying for your friend Jean, and for your friend also Julie.

Thank you -- I know I am learning a lot from him about how to face this kind of news with real grace, and I hope my girls are learning as well. He has been a friend for almost 20 years, and has been there for me when we had some very, very difficult situations.

Well...

.... we're back home now. I picked up a red Krazor with a Motorola bundle of branded OEM bluetooth earset, a flip case & car charger for $118 before adjustment for a $50 rebate. I'll have to install the 2GB Micro SD card which was so generously sent / sold to me by a good DIS friend (Dang!... I erased the PM with all the info on that exchange, but I recall I had been transacting with... Sacramento ... so I think it wqas Esteri... am I wrong?)... at any rate - please forgive me for being forgetful.... my spouse has been on my case for 24 years now over my forgetfulness on all manner of thing.

We thank you for your support. Hope you enjoy the KRZR.

Get back?? What is this get money back that you speak of??? ;) :lmao:
I never get. I just give give give......

You're with me on that one . . .:sad2:

Tomorrows gonna be busy with following the developements at the hospital and getting ready to go away for the weekend.

Crash, my middle daughter has a Krazor, and it's a good phone. You got a good price, too.

My advice to you with your friends, is to offer to help -- but don't leave it at that. When a family is going through something like that, they don't often think to ask, or feel uncomfortable asking, for help even from people who have offered. Just do things for them -- or call and ask if you can bring over pizza, or pick up their child from school, or do their lawn or laundry -- be specific. I can tell you from experience that something like this will be appreciated more than flowers. And don't forget about them once the initial crisis is over . . .

At any rate, it's so sad since our friend JEAN has a 2 year old boy and husband to survive her if things don't turn around. And we've been rallying with her family to add a few smiles to this year... more so then our usual neighborly friendship over the years. Know what I mean? We knew the odds were not good at all for her survival over 2 years - but it's different when it's happening. At any rate,... I don't mean to be a dampener for others - just it's a sort of sad day for our family.

I have to run now... cheers.

Crash, give our prayers and pixie dust to your friend. Odds are meant to be beaten.

:lmao: :lmao:
M called dibs on my carcass for chair holding.

Yeah, back off Roger!

Even better if you're still alive Lisa. I'd look strange making fun or people with a corpse.

You're still gonna save my chair, right?? :)

:lmao: Sorry...why do the virtual fundraising when you're living it? :rotfl: But yes, I was trying to say that while playing "endless ocean", your character's goal is to research and learn about marine life....in order to "fund" your character's research, your character does fundraising by hosting visitors and taking them on dive's to look at specific fish.

I get to do some fun stuff, but no snorkeling.
Actually the game sounds like fun.

yikes, there's still ice everywhere.
2 hour delay, boo

Us too. But YAY! Federal government also has a delay. My office follows the feds and DH is a fed, so maybe we'll eat our emergency French toast this morning.

We were watching the news about all the unclaimed funds and DD decided to look up our names. Turns out I have two that amount to about $500. It seems they sent the checks to a PO box I haven't had in years. I just have to prove I am owed the money and that was my former name and PO Box address. The name part is easy as I have my marriage license, but I only had the PO Box for 6 months while I was going through my divorce because my ex-husband would go through the mail.

My husband heard about the unclaimed money site for NJ last year (we used to live in NJ) and decided to look up his name... low and behold... he got $6600. He had worked for a car dealer that went bankrupt about 20 years ago - I guess in the settlement he got money they owed him for payroll but they never knew where to find him so he got the principal and interest for all those years.

Julie, missed the details in my quick ketchup, but we'll be adding your friend to our prayer list tonight. Every little bit has to help, right?

For the first time ever, last night the best of show at the Westminster Dog Show was a beagle, Uno:

300h.jpg

He was a real beagle, too, baying at the judge . . .

For those who don't know, Belle and Linus are my dogs and Belle is a beagle . . .

In the past I would often go to the dog show, but it is always on school nights, so that stopped when the kids came along. I would have liked to have seen this dog in person!

My childhood friend had one and he would always sound off. My Boston does that too all the time. Love a dog with spunk!!!!

Is Liz on vacation? haven't seen her postings lately so here goes

Currently 68, high 74, low 44 and severe thunderstorm watch today.

Crash, let us know how your friend is doing.

Good question about Liz . . . were they heading off on vacation?

To live with a beagle you must have a certain tolerance for chaos . . . I like a dog with personality, too. I always say that what I like about beagles is that they are smaller dogs that think they're big dogs.

This is true......I am lucky to be a part of a great circle of moms (well...families, actually...but the moms organize everything :) )....and when someone has a baby or a surgery, etc....we jump in to set up a calendar of meals to be taken to the family. We just go ahead and have everyone pick dates, and tell the family "These are the dates we have dinners covered for you." And of course, Julie's suggestions of doing laundry and caring for children are great as well!

M......If Lisa has to resort to her dreaded "plan B", I've got your nickname ready....."Dead girl's friend"

BTW...Lisa, I hope you go with "plan A". I can't wait to meet you (still breathing)....you're a riot!

I DVR'd that last night, so Kylie could watch it with me this afternoon. I figured he'd win, what a cutie.

My DH grew up with a beagle....Tripps was his name. I remember my dh just loved that dog. He would share his ice cream cones with him! Now, I love dogs, too....but yuck!

We were rooting for Uno.

Tomorrow is my last day hanging around - as on Friday we're gonna try our hand at skiing in the local mountains - then for the weekend we've rented a house to share with 2 other families in Big Bear.

Enjoy!:)

We had to go buy a new TV tonight. :sad2: "Old" one was only two years old. :sad2: :sad2:
I guess that's our Valentine's gift to eachother.

Enjoy your Valentine's gift......................That is much better than a box of chocolates:)
