We fly AirTran as well back and forth between Orlando and Virginia. It is the only airline at our smallish airport that has a direct flight.
We did take it to Phoenix this past summer to visit my grandparents. WARNING: DO NOT count on this airline to get you to your destination the DAY OF the cruise!!!!
We had a 4:30 AM (yikes is THAT early!) to begin the cross country trek to Arizona. When we arrived at the airport (1 hour early), we were informed that our flight had been cancelled!!!!! due to the plane not getting from somewhere else the night before. Well, we didn't like, but we took our free round trip tickets and went home only to return at the same time the next morning. I was so relieved to finally get to Phoenix and get some serious sleep!
Now I shared all that b/c on our original flight was about 30 extended family members headed to Miami to get on a cruise ship THAT DAY! I watched in agony for those folks as the Airtran folks did everything they could to get them to Miami; there just wasn't ANY seats available. The next day, I heard that they missed their cruise and had to make other arrangements to catch up with it.
I wanted to communicate this story NOT to diss Airtran (b/c I think every airline has stories like this from last summer), but to again warn folks to PLEASE come into Florida at least the night before . .
Okay, just a bit long winded, I'll be quiet now . .
