good afternoon everyone! this all still seems so very weird to me...that the old thread is gone! i don't deal well with change!! LOL!
anyway, i guess i'll get used to it...
hope everyone is having a great monday. it's going smoothly here...a little too smoothly in fact! i'm waiting for the other shoe to drop...there is no school, so we have a houseful, yet here i sit at only 12:30 on the computer during naptime....i'm not sure how we managed to get them all down for nap already!! but yippee!!! now it's time to go ketchup on what i missed last nite! have a great day!!

Just fer the record... we've been promised by the MODs that our original thread will be restored after they finsih this experiment. I guess thier technical people are still evaluating the preformance difference on the DIS.

Tom fishing is not bad if you split it with some others. But most vacations we do we aren't fortunate enough to know others in advance to plan things so we end up chartering ourselves. And then I feel like I have to go since it cost so much. We'll usually do one trip per vacation--they love fishing in Hawaii, Hilton Head and Adam has to bass fish at WDW. :goodvibes

Hi everyone! I created both a dated and plain-vanilla version of the DIS member on board (for those who don't rmember them, this is a take-off on the "baby on board" things people used to put in their car windows).

Plain-Vanilla version:

I'll ask Tom to post these at the website also.

If anyone has any suggestions for general door magnets, let me know. I enjoy doing this type of design stuff (no formal background, just years of playing with Paint Shop Pro!) and could make others that could be used by any of us.

Pamela

These are great! Thanks for doing this. I still color outside of the lines - no creativity at all.

One thing I have been thinking about is how much fun some of us on my July 28 Med cruise had doing wine tastings together. It made the experience so much better to have people around that you knew/were getting to know. We could organize a list of those who are interested in beer tastings, wine tastings, tequila tastings, etc., and then of course no one could do anything before we get on the ship, but we could try to coordinate somehow.

Julie...my Dh did the beer tasting with some DIS friends on our last cruise, and had a great time. He might be interested in doing this again. I would be up for a wine tasting, but here's the thing.....I don't really drink wine. It doesn't repulse me or anything, I am just more of a fruffy-drink girl. But I'd really be interested in learning more about the wines in a tasting.

Thanks Pamela, I printed one for Cheryl.

Loved this on the repo. Our group organized a wine tasting, beer tasting, tequila tasting, and martini tasting. Yes, I did them ALL.

It was arranged with DCL and we had our own tastings. We didn't have to coordinate with the general offerings. I'm not sure how it was done though.

That sounds awesome! It would be great to have our own!

And the martini tasting sounds perfect!

Now this is important information.!!!:worship: :worship:

I hate red wine.....but I was very interested to se the tequila tasting!!!.This will have to be a must do next time. I had my choice of the last tour on the bridge or the tasting. I took the bridge tour.:rolleyes1

This is a great idea!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: Of course you will post them on the web site for us to print off???:goodvibes :goodvibes

So it is your fault Arlene.:sad2: Did someone pay you to keep me busy.:rolleyes1

Well Cheryl just called me from the mall, she said she is saving me all kinds of money:scared1: that is always a scary thought.
I noticed she had #1100 post, she thinks that should count towards a pirate: maybe at least a half.

I am more of a frufru drinker too - beer is okay but Wine :sad2: does not do it for me, don't like the taste and gives me a headache. Give me a margarita or a daquiri and I am good - Tequila tasting has my name written all over it!

I enjoy a nice glass of wine or two--wine seems to go to my head sooner. But I much prefer the tasty mixed drinks:)

I must confess, I usually skip over the camera talk. I'm happy with my 2 little point and shoot digitals that I still don't know how to use all the bells and whistles.

Anyway........I was skimming through this post and found the line above. I never even thought about doing this to test a new camera. I may do this just to play around. Although I loathe Best Buy, so I'd probably do it in Circuit City.

I hear ya. What a GREAT idea! I have 2 different types of memory cards so that is not even a hindrance. :thumbsup2

I do not have a sophisticated bone in my body so the frutty, foofier the better! I may try the tastings just to see if I all of the sudden developed refinement (but pretty doubtful).

Hi Msaseifert - Let me introduce myself - I am another Laura - I've been gone for a few months but I started from way back when. I just had to laugh when I read this - I do believe that we must be connected somehow - your a great bargain hunter - and we must go shopping together - I can sniff out a bargain ANYWHERE! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I too do not drink beer - wine also gives me a headache and if given a choice a strawberry Mango daquiri totally frozen would take me to fruit heaven. Never mind what someone's husband said - I am a great shopper, good friend and a semi-decent tequila drinker although I prefer mine straight up in shot glasses - although for some reason - I don't recall ever taking more than 5 shots in one night - oh well, there might be a reason to that. :rotfl:

Hope to see you on board!

BTW all - I think the ark has landed in Southern California. I sent a white dove out and it brought back a sprig of tree. We are going to attempt a land outing. If I don't come back within a reasonable time - please send an aqua search party to my area. Look for the drowning crazy woman in flippers....er.....slippers.

Just for that comment, we may have to single her out - I save lots of money everyday by shopping :rotfl:

Hear Hear - I second that emotion. And Tom? Don't get between a woman and her shopping. Dh tried that and almost died when I turned around and got between his poker tournaments and him. Now we worked out this fantastic deal - he can go play poker as long as he wins and gives me $$ for shopping. After all - I am a great bargain shopper. :rotfl2: And I've made my oldest DD an even greater one - that girl made $2000 last throughout the TOAL this past summer (Med cruise) and 6 1/2 months of only going to school. Can you imagine pretty soon there will be a new species of homosapien superwomen who have a big sniffer to better aid them in their quest for survival - a mean bargain! :rotfl2: :lmao:

We should have named this nwe thread Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC Extreme Makeover Thread Edition.

Of course then I'd of found it w/o any trouble.

eeyorelvr10
That is some kinda camera! Are you now our resident photographer? You'll give the onboard photographers a run for their money.

Well, back to work for me . . .:surfweb:

gotta pay for this amazing trip . . .

Hi Dia - I would love to be but I have a sneaky suspicion that Crash has me beat in that department hands down - right Tom(Crash)? :rotfl:

I must confess, I usually skip over the camera talk. I'm happy with my 2 little point and shoot digitals that I still don't know how to use all the bells and whistles.

Hey Monica - I had to go back and reread myself but that is truly a good idea. I never thought about it myself. From now on - I will attempt to do that. Now if I can just remember - they take XD cards. Oh Yeah - and when I attempt to put them back into their slots that attached cord usually gets in my way and makes me drop the camera anyway but that drop is only about 1 ft - must attempt the bigger drop of 5 ft.

please no lime green please no lime green:worship:

I wouldn't mine a smaller version of our logo though....

I'm sorry, I know it's disloyal but I don't like lime green either:sad2:

THIS is what I get for allowing life to interfere w/the DIS  I've got a system where I automatically go to the end of the thread and then read backwards. This morning was no different ... until I realized that this wasn't the thread that I thought it was :confused3 I had to go back to the first post ... when I realized that I wasn't hundreds of pages in (or out depending on your point of view). For a minute, I thought maybe you were all trying to hide from me ... and just really weren't very successful :rotfl2: Apparently, I need to pay better attention

Happy Monday pirate: Hey, anyone thought about a 200 days till all-aboard on-line event :confused3

~Kandi

Why would we ever hide from you????:confused3 The 200 days on line party sounds like a good one -- when is it? Has to be soon . . .

Crash is a Wuss! (Tell him I didnt post that, Sister):rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

As long as you are calling someone else that, and not me, I won't tell on you, Andrew!:rotfl2: Signed, Not-a-wuss

These are great -- and I suppose we have to go with the green for tradition's sake????? As long as I don't have to wear it, I can put it on my door . . .

The wine tastings were very educational. I might do one on this trip, particularly if they showcased California wines. I really want to try the beer tasting, though, which I've never done. I wonder how we would go about trying to do something like this through Disney? Or is it better just to discuss ahead of time which days we might do it and sign up separately? (It worked out on my July 28 cruise, at least.) Would there be multiple days of wine/beer tastings since it is such a long cruise?

Laura I used to enjoy taking football pictures when Adam played. I would print them and whatever didn't make it into the scrapbook I gave away. :)

Your camera sounds fun--too complicated for me though

Shhh! Let you in on a little secret - me too that is why I have to study before I show up in public with it. Otherwise when the "experts" come and ask me a question - I look like - "DUH" :)

APRIL:eek:
There is no way, I can wait til April - I'm getting antsy now with not having the flights booked. None of this last minute - pay thru the nose - like last year - (but that was different). I'm into saving a bit of money this time around. :)

'Ello Smee from Canada - Cheryl and I and the new super legion of Bargain hunters can help in that department! :rotfl2:

Thanks Pam for the signs..

I finally am going post a picture on the website but I am not sure how to do it.. any ideas??
