Well, gee...I suppose I should get off my duff and get some work done.

But first...a CRUISE QUESTION......

Looking at the Cartegena excursions, there are two beach resort ones listed....does anyone have any kind of insider info or thoughts on either one of them??

Beware, bias opinion coming:-

IMHO, I ''Hated'' the beaches at Cartegena, they were baron and very dry/hot. Best go sightseeing or shopping, for beach go to Aruba's!

We did a city tour which included the so called beach's now this was a few years back, I think one visited was at the Hilton.
They are really Naf,

Just MHO.

Update, I just checked my information about Cartegena on another website, and it was the Hilton that we went to and according to Princess cruises that was the best beach there.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Perfect ...Maybe add the link to the website :confused3

How about removing the Poll ...The Mods are going to do what they are going to do , lets not add any fuel to the fire

I think there's some sort of rule about public linking to an outside website.

From this in the Ny Times:

it sounds as if either would be fine -- Baru Island is more of a beach, reachable only by boat, with possible strolling vendors, etc., whereas the other one is at a hotel resort nearer the dock.

Here's Gabby's cake, rush job:

Sorry about the dark background, our counter tops are black.

Aww it's really sweet.

Well I would think if the Threads are going to be limited and in order to help elevate part of the problem , websites designed for Cruise's should be welcomed :confused3 :confused3

Speaking of Aruba, when I looked more closely into the beach excursions, it looks like there is a really neat one for the kids that includes a water park! A bit pricey but might be worth it, especially since it includes an OPEN BAR! :worship:

Edited to add it actually says, "alcoholic beverages will be served" so not necessarily unlimited, but still a pretty good deal!

Must be a west coast thing, because here I am all by myself again.

I kept telling myself I wasn't going to say another word about the thread "disappearing" but I never listen to anyone, even myself.

Best to skip this if you don't want to hear (what I hope is my final!) my opinion.

These Boards ARE NOT paid for by Disney...the ones with the big bucks....
The "powers that be" on the Boards have to sometimes make decisions that are good for the majority....not just a few threads.

I really don't see what the big deal is about the larger threads being closed (and even disappearing) when there are no restrictions on starting a new one.
Was anyone REALLY going to go back and read all those pages anyway??

Now is the time to really start planning for the cruise, and an opportunity to have some really pertinent information on here without it getting buried under tons of fluff.
While I enjoyed the "Pirate Runs" as much as the next person, the idea wasn't a competition to see which thread could have the most posts. If that's the case, this one already won that easily.....time to move past that.

I think this is a great chance for anyone new joining in to really be able to feel a part of the group & gather some good info from everyone here, rather than be intimidated by the post count. If they put the original thread back, then fine...if not...oh well.....

So....can we just PLEASE let it go, and move on??

Okay....donning my flame-resistant suit, shutting my mouth & sitting on my hands.
:duck::duck::duck:

:thumbsup2 Very well put!:thumbsup2

Read this:-

http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1700053

This tragic story happened on the July 28th 2007 11 night Med cruise, they were part of the Dis forums, Julie knows them.

We had an emergency stop.

As I said in the other thread about this, I was always wondering if they were going to sue . . . they live on Staten Island and of course that was a big tragedy. The question I would have is whether something faulty in DCL's design actually caused the injury to be fatal -- because as we know older people fall all the time and sustain injuries. I really don't know enough to speculate.

The amount asked does seem small to me, though!

Thanks Stace!

Sorry that I disappeared from chat last night. As I mentioned DW was  and about 8pm it hit me too. Our family likes to share.

Isn't there a saying...the family that shares together, stays together?:rotfl2:

Sorry that you all were sick - hoping that you are all doing better now.

He's home. We've already had a few tense moments. It will take some time for him to get adjusted I'm sure.

Monica, I'm glad to hear that he is home. The tense moments are to be expected. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Hang in there . . .:lovestruc

We laugh about that because when I drive her car I feel like I am in a go cart because the Escalade is so much bigger. She has a Solstice.

I just saw one of those yesterday - way COOL!!!

And you ARE gorgeous - both inside and out!:goodvibes

I actually had heard that Cartegena might not be the best for beaches . . .I'm not sure yet what we will go for there . . .

The best part (NOT) about having the kids reach driving age, is having them tell me what I'm doing wrong when I'm driving.
"Mom...you're not supposed to pass in an intersection"
"Mom...you're 10 miles over the speed limit"
"Mom....you're supposed to stop when you run over a jogger"

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: My DS has been doing that to me for YEARS and he isn't even 13 yet!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
